The early morning sun rose from the distant mountains, down in the land many of the local residences began to wake up, pterosaurs began to fly through the sky, herds of dinosaurs began to move while predators look for a opportunity to make a kill.
The Louds slept soundlessly on their boat, they were all dreaming of home from Lynn and Rita dreaming of being in his restaurant and Dr. Finesteins Dentist office, to the kids dreaming of goofing off at home. Outside the boat the fire pit is burned and sizzled and most of the leftover strawberries were gone thanks to the dryosaurs and other animals that came by during the night. From outside the Loud's campsite small trees shook and branches snap as something moved through them, suddenly a three toed foot stepped out of the jungle.
Unaware of their visitor the Louds continue to sleep, footsteps walked over to the boat then stopped, soft growls could be heard along with the sounds of sniffing, a head with two horns above the eyes rose up and looked at the sleeping family, she moves her body against the boat shaking it a bit which woke up Leni, she looks over to see a yellow eye looking back at her.
Leni screamed awakening the rest of her family, they looked over and jumped upon seeing the dinosaur; the carnotaurus roars then slammed her body against the boat shaking it, the family got bumped away from their sleeping positions. She then bites down on the side and pulls tearing it out, she drops it out of her mouth then lunged her head through the missing side, she snapped her mouth shut just inches away from Lola's feet, she spots Luna to her left and snapped at her nearly grabbing her arm, then lets out another roar that made Lilly cry.
The carnotaurus moves her head back, she walks a few meters back before charging back and slam her side against the boat rocking it, she walks back and does it again tipping it a bit, she lowers her body down and with all her strength knocked the boat onto its side and flinging the family to the ground.
They groan as they get to their feet, "Is everyone alright?" Rita asks, both her husband and kids replied with yeah along with I'm alright. The carnotaurus's head slowly poked out from the front end of the boat, she turns her head towards them letting out a roar.
"RUN!" Lynn Sr. yelled, he and the rest of the family ran into the jungle the carnotaurus went in pursuit of her meals, she crashes through branches and ferns as she gains on them getting closer with each step she took.
"Quickly turn left!" Lisa ordered.
The Louds turn on Lisa's orders, the Carnotaurus surprised by this sudden turn continues to run forward a few steps then stopped and turned in that direction. The Louds were now ahead of the carnivore, but they knew that it was only a matter of time before she caught up with them.
"What are we going to do!" Lori yelled out.
"We keep running dude, that's what we do!" Luna stated.
"Wait guys I see a cave on the left!" Lincoln pointed out.
"Good spotting Lincoln, quickly into the cave!" Rita ordered.
The family made another turned and ran into a small ground level cave, they run inside a few meters before ducking behind a large rock. Peeking out they watch the carnotaurus come out of the jungle then stops, she looks around for them while sniffing the air, she lets out a growl of frustration while looking around some more, she soon leaves and the family could hear her footsteps fade until it was completely silent allowing the family to let out a sigh of relief.
"Well talk about having a morning run." Luan joked out of habit.
"Not now Luan." Rita said with a wave of her hand.
Luan looked down sheepishly. "Sorry."
Lynn Sr. moves away from the rock looking at the entrance of the cave intensely waiting for the carnotaurus to come back. "Well we lost the boat."
"Indeed father, but luckily we found this cave and I do believe that this cave could provide us with an appropriate shelter as this cave is large enough to shelter all of us, the entrance is to small for any large theropods, though I recommend we place a door at the entrance so smaller ones can't get in." Lisa informs.
"Are you sure that this cave is okay Lisa?" Lincoln asked.
"Well it's either this cave or going around the jungle looking for another one." Lisa points out, her family members immediately said no at the same time. "Then it's settled we shelter here for now on."
"Shouldn't we also get some supplies from the boat?"
"Good point older goth sibling, we should get our supplies from our former aquatic shelter."
"Right will do that later, right now lets get ourselves settled in this cave before going back out as that thing could still be out there."
"You mean the carnotaurus a Cretaceous carnivore that has more shorter arms than a T-Rex and has those distinctive two horns above the eyes."
Her father rubbed his head, "Yeah that thing."
The rest of the morning the family stayed inside the cave, they sat around in various areas except for Lucy who hung from the ceiling like a vampire bat. Some of them did look around the cave a bit, but since the cave wasn't that big they didn't get far as they only turned a corner only to come across a dead end.
It wasn't until mid day when Lynn Sr. poked his head out for any danger, seeing nothing he exits the cave a few feet before turning and motioning his family to come out which they did. "Okay does anyone remember the way to the boat?" He asked.
Lisa raised her hand. "I do, my photographic memory remembers where we ran from."
"Alright lets go, but everyone be careful we don't need another chase today."
The family walked through the jungle all the way back to the boat that is now on its side with most of their supplies on the ground.
Luan runs over to the wreckage and kneels down with a sad frown on her face. "Aw Mr. Coconuts 2.0 got his head cracked."
Leni picked up her fern dress, then she looked over to the custom TV and gasped. "Guys the TV'S broken!"
"Leni that's not a real TV remember." Lori called out.
"Oh right."
Lana looks around before smiling upon seeing the bottle of water, she leans down and picked it up proudly. "I found the water."
"I found some of the wood." Lynn spoke up.
The family continues to salvage for supplies which luckily weren't damage such as: pots, Lynn's Sr. lighter, fishing poles, and a few other things that they could grab, even Lilly found her blankie. "Well family looks like we got most of the supplies, now lets get back to the cave before anything comes." Lynn ordered.
The family leaves the area quickly, they make a quick hase all the back to the cave where once inside they put the things down on the cave floor. Lynn Jr. stretches as she lets out a excited shout. "WHOO! That was great workout!"
Lola however is panting from both runs to and from here. "I wish there were cars here, princesses weren't meant to run far."
"Better get used to it Lola, as with survival you gotta get your hands dirty." Lana said with a smug smile which Lola looked back at her with a scowl.
"So now that we got our gear, what's the next plan dudes?" Luna asked.
"Simple get more food and make some tools along with making a door for the cave's entrance." Lisa replied simply.
"Well there's a plan." Lincoln said.
Lynn and Lincoln were now walking through the jungle looking for food; mainly any giant vegetables or fruits, they weren't walking through the jungle defenseless though as Lynn is carrying a spear that Lana had made with a sharp rock tied to a stick by a vine.
"Okay Lynn according to Rip Hardcore in order not to get lost from your shelter, you need to get familiar with landmarks."
"Like this rock that's shaped like a car?" Lynn pointed out.
Lincoln nods, "Yeah that should work."
Lynn looked around the area with her hands on her hips. "I don't see any food here."
"Rip says the best place to find food is to look very carefully."
"Yeah whatever stinkcoln."
They walk further into the jungle, eventually the two come across a tree with giant apples hanging from above. "Ah, here's some food." Lynn exclaimed happily.
"Just like Rip said, we looked closely and found food."
"You do anything that guy says." Lynn smirked.
"He professions on survival tactics, something that we really need right now." Lincoln argued.
"I doubt he ever had to survive in a dino-infested jungle."
"It's probably the same as a regular jungle with some key differences."
"Lets just get the food." Lynn turns to the tree and began to climb it all the way up to the branch where she sits on it. "Alright Lincoln get ready because I'm about to shake them out."
Lincoln nods, he gets under the branch ready to catch them, Lynn began to shake the branch very violently the apples fall off the branch Lincoln ran and manage to catch two of them, but the other ones fell onto the ground until the last one fell from the tree. With the last one down Lynn climbs herself down and picked up the rest of them. "Nice we got some food, now back to the showers!" She ordered.
They head back, they were few meters away when a snap of a twig caused both of them to stop and instantly looked around in alarm.
"What was that?"
"I don't know Lincoln."
The sound of rustling bushes gets them to look in the direction it came from, where they caught a quick glance of something small, bipedal, and hairy run into a denser part of the jungle. "Whoa! Did you see that Lynn?"
"I sure did bro, I wonder what it was?"
Lincoln shrugs. "I don't know, but it sure was hairy."
"We should check it out."
"Hold on Lynn I don't think that's a good idea, it could be dangerous."
"Come on how are we suppose to know what it is if we don't investigate?"
"Rip says it's not wise to go to a cornered animal, as that animal has a high chance of attacking."
"Okay fine!" Lynn scoffed in annoyance. They restart their walk back to the cave, the hairy figure pokes its head out, curiously watching them leave the area.
Back at the cave it was all rustle and bustle as the other family members worked on making tools or making the door for the cave's entrance. Lana worked on the door with her father as he gets the wood in place while Lana tied them together with a thick vine.
Lola tied a couple branches together with pretty leafs on the top making a crown that she gleefully placed. "Hey guys what do you think of my crown?"
"Lola you were supposed to make essential tools." Lori scolded.
"A princess crown is essential." Lola argued.
"Look dudes I made a guitar."
"I made a stink bomb." Luan adds.
"I made a coffin to sleep in."
"I made a wand." Leni said with glee.
"Huh that just a stick Leni." Lori points out.
"Oh" Leni put the stick down sadly.
"Ugh, I guess I'm the only only one who made something to survive here." Lori holds up a hoe, Lisa walks up to Lori with a smile on her face. "Fear not oldest sibling, for I have also build key essential things for our survival on his land." Lisa shows her a axe, pickaxe, shovel, and a bow. "Why am I not surprised that you built all that in under one hour."
"Because your simple minded brain is used to my genius." Lori looked at her annoyed, Lisa smiled nervously then dashed away quickly. Rita comes by with some wood, she enters the cave and places them down. "This should be enough for a fire tonight." Rita comes out of the cave and approaches Lynn and Lana.
"How's the door coming guys?"
Lynn looked up as he tied vines together. "Doing great honey, I think we should be done with it very soon."
"That's great dear! I wonder when Lincoln and Lynn are going to get back?"
"I don't know, but I hope they're safe."
"Yeah looks who's got some food!" Lynn Jr. yelled as she and Lincoln came out of the jungle with the giant apples in their arms.
"Oh good your back, and look at all the lovely apples you collected." Rita said.
Lynn Sr. gets to his feet as he patted his hands. "Did you guys run into any trouble on the way? "
"Not really, though we did see some hairy thing." Lincoln replied.
"Hairy thing?" Rita asked.
Lincoln nodded, "We saw it briefly, but it ran away."
"At least it didn't attack." Lynn Sr. said in relief. He gets back down to his knees to work on the door. "All right Lana help me tie this one down."
"Why don't you guys put those apples in the cave, then come back to help your sisters buid tools."
"Okay mom." The two head for the cave, they place them on a large rock the two walked out of the cave then stopped in their tracks with utter fear on their faces. "Guys look!" Lincoln points to the jungle, the others look at him first then turned to where he was pointing and like him and Lynn they to had the look of fear.
In the jungle the same T-Rex that attacked Lynn's group yesterday is heading towards them. "Oh no." Lynn Sr. said as watched him get closer to them, he gets to the edge of the jungle then looked around a bit before finally spotting them letting out a threatening roar.
"Quick into the cave!" Lynn ordered, his family along with himself run into the cave, the T-Rex walks up to the cave, lowers his head down looking into it letting out a roar to the cowering family inside. He turns to the coffin that Lucy built, curious he sniffs it, moved it a bit with his snout then grabs it with his mouth, lifted it, then threw it against the rock wall smashing into pieces.
Lucy looked to her feet sadly. "Sigh"
The T-Rex lets out a series of loud roars, his breath blows pasts them. "Yuck, his breath smells as bad as Lynn's farts." Lola complained. The T-Rex lets out another thundering roar. "What are we going to do?" Leni asked her family. "I don't know honey, we probably have to hope he gets tired and goes away." Rita replied.
"Or force him away, Luan do you have that stinkbomb?" Lisa asked.
Luan holds it. "Yeah what about it?"
"Good, now when I give the word throw it with all your might."
The T-Rex rose his head up looking at the cave in frustration, he leans back down letting out another roar. "Okay now!"
Luan throws the bomb into the predator's mouth, it detonates into a green, smelly, smoke. The T-Rex leans up and lets out disgusted coughs, he slowly turns around and walked into the jungle trying to get the stink out of his mouth, the family walk over to the cave entrance and watch him disappear into the jungle.
"Take that you stinker!" Lola yelled out.
"Now Lola it's best not to mock a giant predator." Lynn Sr. stated.
"Nice thinking on using the stink bomb sis!" Luna complemented
"And nice thinking on me for making it in the first place." Luan said proudly.
"Now that he's gone lets finish that door quickly." Lynn Sr. runs to the door with Lana, the others picked up their tools and transported them into the cave except Lucy who is looking at her destroyed coffin.
"Sigh, my poor coffin."
