Story inspired by Sid and Marty Krotts Land of the Lost TV series.

Without getting any fish, plus their fishing poles being stolen, Lynn and Lana wandered through the jungle looking for something else to bring for dinner. The two are determine to find something other than vegetables or fruit.

"So what are we going to do dad?"

"I don't know Lana, but we'll find something." They continued to walk while scanning around for anything that would be good to eat, they went up a small hill then Lynn stop Lana in her tracks and points in front of him.

Ahead of them is a flock of chickens with cotton candy colored wings, the two stare at flock, to each other, then back to the flock. "You up for chicken kiddo?"

Lana simply nodded, Lynn leans to her level and whispered so he wouldn't spook the flock. "Alright I'm going to try to get one of those chickens, keep quiet Lana we don't want to scare them away." Lana gives him a thumbs up.

Lynn slowly walked towards the flocked, he carefully avoids anything that would make a noise such as a twig, small rocks, or his shoes scraping together. He gets really close to the flock, his arms rose up in a grabbing motion. One of the chickens look up in his direction, letting out a alarm the chickens scattered everywhere, Lynn rushes forward, grabbing at them but misses as they were to fast for him, he leaped for one, but just fell flat on his face.

Lynn pushed himself up watching the chickens retreat, he slowly gets himself up with a bit of a groan, Lana goes over to him with concern. "Are you okay dad?"

"I'm fine kiddo, though it looks like we're aren't having chicken."

"How about pork?

"Huh?"

Lana points to his right, looking over Lynn saw a pig with purple spots, feeding on a low bush while making various snorting sounds. "Yeah that will work." Lynn began to slowly walk up to the pig, suddenly the pig looks over at him, lets out a squeal then took off.

"AFTER THAT PORK CHOP!" Lynn and Lana run after it.

The three pakunies were feeding on some fruit, the male pakuni who's name is Ta had the poles close to him, the female who's name is Sa finished her fruit, then picked out another fruit. Cha-Ka however is eating slowly as he still felt this weird feeling, he didn't know why he was feeling like this, all he did know is that he started feeling like this when he and his people took the stick things from the humans.

Ta finishes his fruit, he is still hungry though and looked up to a tree with apples in it. Ta picked up one of the poles, then turned to Cha-Ka and shouts an order at him, Cha-Ka looked over at him confused, Ta hands him the pole then points to the tree.

Knowing better than not to disobey Ta's order, Cha-Ka gets up and walked up to the tree. Using the pole he reaches up and whacked the apples knocking one down, the apple hits the ground and bounced into a bush. Ta orders him to get it, Cha-Ka goes after it, he goes past the bush and looked around the area; after a bit of a search Cha-Ka spots it lodge in a rock.

Cha-Ka walks over and grabbed it with one hand, however when he pulled, the apple wouldn't budge, so he placed the pole down and used both his hands to pull. It took several times but then it popped out, causing him to fall backwards.

Sitting up Cha-Ka smiled down at the apple in his hands, he then took a glance to his right and noticed that there was something attach to the rock. Looking fully Cha-Ka saw that it was a tail, suddenly the rock rose up; revealing that it was the carnotaurus.

Cha-Ka's instincts kicked in and he took off, the carnotaurus looks over at him with interest.

Cha-Ka runs to Ta and Sa, Ta looked at Cha-Ka and shouted in anger when he saw no apple in his hands as he had dropped when he broke into a run. His anger at Cha-Ka quickly subsided though as the carnotaurus came into view, the pakunies panicked under the carnivore's roar, the carnotaurus approaches, Ta grabs another pole and thrusts it at the dinosaur.

The carnotaurus lifted her head up in surprise, Ta thrusted it forward, however the carnivore grabbed pole, yanked it out of his hands, and threw it away. The pakunies panicked and took off with the carnotaurus in pursuit.

The pig runs as fast as its legs could carry, Lynn and Lana were in close pursuit determine to catch it. The pig makes several sharp turns, which caught them off guard the first couple times, but now they anticipated it and turned when it turned.

They then came into a clearing; the pig took a quick glance behind him to see that they were still after him, he takes a glance to the right and sees a herd of apatosaurs trudging through the area. The pig turns and runs towards them, it ducks beneath the stomach and came out in the middle of the herd.

Lynn and Lana stopped and looked at the passing giant legs, together they scanned through the herd for the pig, until Lana spots it walking among them, after pointing it over to her dad, the two waited for one apatosaurs to pass before going into the herd themselves. The pig looked back to see them running up to it, it broke into a run and soon they were chasing the pig among the giant sauropods who paid them no mind.

The pig turns left, it runs underneath the belly and ran into the jungle, Lana and Lynn had to stop for the apatosaurus to pass by.

The pig began to feel safe as it continues to run through the brush, however it wanted to make sure, so it ran further and further. Finally the pig stopped near a large tree, the pig lets out a snort as it looked back in the direction it ran from, feeling both safe and tired from the run, the pig goes over to a fern.

It tears off a fern and began to eat, the pig then felt pain as something jumped on it's back and dig its claws into it. A deinonychus had erupted from high bushes and is now hanged onto the trashing pig, the raptor bites on the back of the pig's neck.

The pig squeals in pain, it bounces and trashes around trying in vain to get the raptor off, another one came out of the ferns and grabbed it by the neck while using it's left toe claw to slash into the stomach spilling out the pig's intestines, in pain the pig falls on it's side causing the raptor on the back to jump off then quickly rejoined his pack mate by also grabbing the neck.

The pig goes lifeless and the raptor that spilled its intestines let's go of the neck while the other one keeps hold. The raptor lets out a couple of calls, soon three more raptors came into view along with six baby raptors; with the rest of the pack here the raptors began to feast on the body. They tear at the main body, one rips out a chunk and drops it gently for the babies who immediately began to feast.

Lynn and Lana who were both clearly out of breath came into the area, the two were a few feet away and got the face of disappointment over someone else getting their pig. "Great there goes the thought of pork for dinner!" Lana complained.

Three raptors looks up from their meal and notices them, they began to hiss in anger, the others look up and they to began to hiss, the alpha female jumps on top of the body letting out a angry roar, her two toe claws raised up.

"Lana move back slowly." Lynn and Lana slowly began to move back, suddenly the alpha charged at them, Lynn and Lana took off in the other direction fast, the alpha ran to where the two just were, then lets out a loud roar at the retreating figures.

With them gone, she goes back to rejoined the meal with her pack.

Lynn and Lana sat on a rock in a clearing wondering what to do, so far after trying to get some other food was a complete utter failure, now they just don't know what to do.

"Looks like we're going to have to get some vegetables again Lana."

"Aw dang it!"

"I know Lana, but looks like it's our only option now."

"And I was hoping for something else tonight." She pouted, Lynn gets himself up. "Well might as well go find some." Lynn and Lana went to leave, when they heard a roar, looking in the direction of the roar they saw the pakunies run out of the jungle with the carnotaurus close behind.

"Looks like those monkey people are in trouble." Lynn states.

Out of the three, Cha-Ka was lagging behind and the carnotaurus is quickly catching up. "Oh no!" Lana runs off towards them much to Lynn's horror. "LANA GET BACK HERE!" Lana ignores him and just continue to run towards the commotion. Lana manages to get behind the carnivore, she picks up a rock, then threw it, the rock hits the tail. The carnotaurus stops and turned her head back wondering what hit her, Lana waved her arms around as she bounced up and down. "Hey pick on someone your own size, you bullhead!"

Lana then ran off as the carnotaurus turns around and began to come after her. "LANA!" Lynn quickly runs to save his daughter; Cha-Ka had also stopped watching the predator that was once coming after him, is now chasing the human. Ta and Sa called to him from behind a large rock, however Cha-Ka ignores them and ran after them instead, much to Ta's and Sa's shock.

With her being close the carnotaurus had no problem catching up to Lana, she lowers her head and used it to bump her into the air, Lana crashed on her side, she raised herself up and looked up at the carnotaurus that is standing above her. The carnotaurus leaned down with her mouth wide open, but then she lets out a roar of pain as Cha-Ka jumped on the leg and bit down on it.

She lifts up her leg and slammed it down forcing Cha-Ka off of her leaving behind a bite mark that drew blood.

The carnotaurus looks down at the young pakuni, before she could do anything a rock hits the lower part of her jaw. "GET OUT OF HERE!" The carnotaurus now turns to Lynn, Lynn threw another rock and this one hits her near the right eye, she lets out a loud roar of pain, she turns around and walked to the jungle letting out growls of pain. With the carnotaurus gone Lynn quickly goes to his daughter.

"Lana are you okay?"

Lana gets back to her feet. "Yeah, I'm cool dad."

Lynn lets in a sigh of relief, but then his face turn stern. "What were you thinking Lana, that was very dangerous!"

"Sorry dad, but Cha-Ka was in trouble."

Cha-Ka slowly approaches the two, he spoke with a questioning way. "Yeah, I'm okay. How about you?' Cha-Ka answers with a series of words. "That's great!"

"Well you saved him that's good, but now lets go get some vegetables."

"Vegetables?" Cha-Ka asked.

Lana nods. "Yeah, it's are last option since we couldn't get any meat or fish."

"Fisha?"

"You know these things." Lana does a imitation of a fish, Cha-Ka smiled as he knew what she was talking about. "Oh, glup, glup!"

Lynn raised his eyebrow up confused. "What?'

"I think that means fish."

"Oh."

Cha-Ka then went to the right, he turns to them and hopped up and down.

"I think he wants us to follow." Lana exclaimed.

Cha-Ka kept bouncing up and down, the two walked towards him much to his excitement, he then leads them away into the jungle, stunned and surprised Ta and Sa stayed hidden behind the rock wondering what Cha-Ka was doing with these creatures.

Cha-Ka had lead them to a steady stream, he turns around and did a presenting motion with his arms out and a smile on his face. Looking into the stream the two saw large fish swimming in it.

"Whoa look at those fish dad!"

"I Know, those look big enough to feed all of us. I wonder how will get one without a pole?" Cha-Ka goes up to the shore, he sits there with his arms raised, after a moment Cha-Ka reached into the water and pulled out a big fish, he drags it up, and held it down until it stopped moving. After all that he looked up at the two with a smile. "Glup."

"That will work." Lynn states.

"Thanks Cha-Ka." Lana exclaimed.

Cha-Ka responds with a smile, then he walk off to rejoin Ta and Sa.

"Well Lana let's get two more fish."

Lana nods and headed towards the stream, getting ready to have a tasty fish dinner tonight.
