*comes out of hiding* Hey guys… long time no see… please don't kill me…

I sincerely apologize for this huge ass long wait! I honestly have no excuse for taking almost 4 years to update. I hadn't even realized that 3 years had passed! I stopped watching the series so I'm guessing that's why I stopped writing because I had no motivation and I honestly can't remember why I never wrote another chapter! I kept all my notes though for what I had planned, but honestly don't want to do 90% of them anymore. I'll get to future storylines in a moment.

Now, if you're wondering what made me want to come back: I had this urge to reread my story and so I did, and then I simply had the urge to continue writing it. I truly love this story, and it makes me so happy that people have been messaging me wanting me to update and that I still get added to people's favorite story list to this day. So, thank you.

Also, in the mist of my rereading, I've firmly established that I was super embarrassing during my author's notes and gave way too much information about my life. But that is fine!

I am not going to do super long author's notes anymore, this is the only exception because you guys deserve an explanation, an apology and an update.

If you're curious, I'll share a couple of quick facts about my life, if not you can scroll to the story!

I am now an upcoming sophomore in college studying biology with a minor in chemistry. My hope is to go to veterinary school. Thus, please don't expect frequent updates. I will try to write a chapter as soon as I can, but I am much busier than I was in high school. I don't recall how much time passed between chapters to make me freak out and say sorry for making you wait, but this time frame might be once a month. I will try to do it sooner, but do not worry I do not plan on taking another four-year hiatus. Also, I am in a very loving, committed relationship with my fiancée whom I live with and we also just adopted an adorable kitty cat. Her name is Muffin and she is very cute, very spoiled.

Now, that's where my life is at, I hope all of you are doing great, and let's check in on our favorite characters' lives

*May 31st,2015*

The pleasant aroma of chocolate chip cookies filled the air as the oven timer counted down from forty-five minutes. Katherine hummed as she danced with her daughter in her arms around the kitchen. Her life was perfect, and something very exciting was that she is learning to bake.

You see, Katherine is one of the hosts of the Mikaelson Family Dinners that just commenced earlier this month. Elijah had this fantastic idea that in order for everyone in his family to keep in touch in the midst of their busy lives, and so the youngest members of their family can have time to social with each other, they should have family dinner every Sunday night. They would alternate whose house they would go to each week, and this week it was Elijah and Katherine's turn.

It was 3:45 in the afternoon, and Katherine decided to bake dessert first. Everyone usually shows up between 4:00 and 5:00 as the small children have bedtimes between 7:00 and 8:00. It's a few hours every week, but it's better than the frequency they had before.

"Hey Kat!" Freya greeted as she entered the kitchen with her nephew Hayden in tow, crawling on his hands and knees. "Look who followed me in here!"

Katherine beamed down at her son. "Oh, aren't you the little speed demon!"

"He's been following me everywhere," Freya explained.

"He loves you," Katherine smiled. "God, I can't believe that they are almost 7 months old. It's crazy how the times flies."

"I know what you mean. Caroline and Klaus' wedding is in two weeks."

Katherine let out a screech. "Too soon!" The blonde laughed at her sister-in-law.

"What is too soon?" Elijah asked as he descended the staircase.

"The Klaroline wedding! I can't believe it is in 15 days," Katherine exclaimed.

"I know, it is truly exciting." Elijah's heart beamed at the thought of his younger brother getting married. To the love of his life, his dream girl, nonetheless. It was a truly spectacular miracle that Klaus met Caroline.

The doorbell chimed and in waltzed the couple in question, with the footsteps of a nine-year-old in tow. "Greetings!" Caroline sang. "Happy Sunday!"

"Oh, Happy Sunday to you too," Katherine rolled her eyes at the bubbly blonde, yet still managed a smile. "We were just talking about you guys and your wedding."

Caroline squealed and jumped with joy. "15 days!"

After her mother was in the hospital last month for only a minor scare, Caroline and Klaus did decide to get married on the following Saturday. However, that was just a legal ceremony, with just their closest friends and family there to witness it. In 15 days will be the wedding reception and an official celebration of their love, where they will repeat their vows for those who could not make it to the original ceremony. Since the former ceremony was so last minute, only the Mikaelson siblings and their significant others, Elena, Damon, Stefan, Lexi, Tyler, Liv, Jeremy, Anna and Caroline's parents were able to attend. Only Klaus and Caroline and her two maids of honor, Elena and Bonnie, were formally dressed for the occasion. The bride looked stunning and was thrilled that both of her parents were able to walk her down the aisle. All of their friends and the Mikaelsons were beyond happy to see the union between two of their favorite people become a reality.

"Don't forget you graduated medical school last weekend," Klaus reminded her. "And you start working at the pediatrician's office when we return from our honeymoon." His voice beamed with pride and love. He could not be prouder of her.

"Yeah, well those are not the most meaningful events in my life, although they are important." Caroline leaned into her husband, feeling the warmth of his embrace.

By 4:30, everyone had arrived and were sitting in the living room enjoying glasses of wine and conversations. Hope, Emma and Tate were playing in the toy room, while Sophia and Hayden attempted to stand up by the coffee table and play with anything they could get their little grubby hands on. Hayden was such a happy baby, always smiling and laughing. He loved the attention and loved looking at people. He made his way over to his Uncle Kol and tried climbing up his leg.

"He's such a climber, it is starting to scare me," Katherine admitted as Kol picked up his nephew and sat him on his lap. "I don't want him to hurt himself."

Sage spoke, "Don't worry, Kat. Babies are curious. They just want to see what everyone is seeing so they try to make themselves eye level with us. Boys especially are climbers. Just keep an eye on him, he can't get into too much trouble." She rubbed her tummy.

Finn and Sage were expecting baby number 2, but they just broke the news to everyone a couple of weeks ago. They wanted to wait until the first trimester was over, to make sure everything was okay. She is now 14 weeks and should be expecting the first week of December.

Rebekah, on the other hand, was 25 weeks pregnant and due at the end of September. She felt bloated all the time and her feet were swollen. She couldn't believe she still had over 3 whole months left. As the days went on the more she was excited to meet her little boy. Yes, Matt and Rebekah were having a baby boy and they couldn't be more thrilled.

"I need to talk about something…" Katherine interrupted everyone's thoughts and conversations. "More, like, ask you guys some questions." She addressed her words towards the five Mikaelson siblings, minus Freya. She doubted whatever Aurora had up her sleeve involved the long-lost sister of her husband.

"Sure, what's up?" Finn asked, curiosity written across his facial features.

"Have I ever mentioned my old manager's name?" She figured she would ask that first.

"The horrible one? No, you haven't," Rebekah answered.

Katherine took a deep breath. "Well, she says she knows you guys and that somehow you hurt her brother. Their names are Tristan and Aurora de Martel."

Finn, Elijah and Klaus all shook their heads.

"Sorry, love, but I've never heard of those people before," Elijah said as he rubbed his wife upper back.

Meanwhile, Rebekah and Kol shared a sheepish look. "Uh, we may know Tristan," Kol admitted. "He trained with me for baseball about 7 years ago."

"Okay…" Katherine motioned for him to continue talking. "What happened?"

Kol sighed. "It was down to him or me for the final position to play with the pros. Tristan was trying to sabotage me. He would send snakes to my apartment, would pay off pitchers to make me look bad in front of recruiters, he would always try to one up me—"

"He was a jerk!" Rebekah interrupted. "I always visited Kol during practice and he would always hit on me. I think he had a genuine crush, but all we did was I played a prank on him by saying I'd go on a date with him if he stopped terrorizing Kol and drop out of the competition. Obviously, I never went on that date."

"He seemed really heartbroken about it, he dropped off the face of the earth," Kol shrugged.

Everyone stared at them, wondering how they never knew of this story.

"Oh-kay," Katherine stressed her syllables. "That's not a good enough reason for Aurora to destroy my company."

"Wait, she said it was because of what I did to her brother? Are you serious?" Rebekah shook her head. "She's bonkers."

Katherine nodded. "I know. Aurora and Tristan had a lot of problems growing up. They both have mental disorders and personality disorders, and their parents didn't really do anything to help them. Aurora felt threatened by my new life in Mystic Falls and if the time period I am thinking of is correct, Kol and Rebekah's interaction with Tristan was around the time I started dating Elijah and she felt like I was being stolen from her. But our company was just a small website where we shipped out orders back then and she wasn't trying to sabotage me then."

"Perhaps she was waiting for the company to really matter to you," Caroline suggested. "For it to take off and become successful. Do you mind me asking what is wrong with her?"

"I'm not really sure. I know bipolar disorder and something else. Her brother is severely paranoid, probably imagined Kol out to get him since they were competing for a job and so he tried to sabotage you first," the Bulgarian beauty explained.

"I am sorry that whatever we did affected your business or your relationship with her," Rebekah apologized. Pregnancy really made her soft, and she's even kind to Katherine and Sage. It makes her mad sometimes, but she realizes she really does love her sisters-in-law.

"Oh, don't worry about it!" Katherine shook her head. "My business is better than ever, and my relationship with Aurora was already deteriorating because she's one of those people that wakes up one day and hates her best friend. She did it to so many girls when we were younger. I was probably next no matter what anyone else did. This pseudo connection she made is most likely just an excuse to shift the blame."

"I am sorry that happened, Katerina," Elijah kissed the top of his wife's head.

"It's all good now," Katherine smiled as she leaned into her husband's embrace. She felt a weight lifted off of her shoulders knowing that what happened between Aurora's brother and any Mikaelson sibling was barely anything to hold a grudge about and that her old friend was just paranoid. She wasn't scared of what Aurora could do and figured her threats were just bluff.

She couldn't have been more wrong.

*June 5th, 2015*

"Guys! Katherine and Elena should be here any minute!" Caroline yelled at all her friends.

It was Elena and Katherine's 26th birthday and Caroline wanted to throw her friends a surprise party. Obviously, this was Caroline's favorite thing to do. With her wedding coming up right around the corner, she felt very energetic and couldn't stop changing things with her wedding. Imagine all the excitement she felt when she realized she got to plan two weddings for herself! Klaus was getting annoyed since they had every detail planned and finished over three months ago. He told her to put all her party planning energy into something else. So, Caroline has thrown Rebekah a baby shower, Emma a 6th birthday party, herself and Lexi a graduation party, and now Katherine and Elena a surprise party.

"Calm down, Care," Bonnie threw her arm around her best friend. "They will get here when they get here."

"I know, but I'm just really excited! I love parties," Caroline exclaimed.

"I see someone walking up the steps!" Anna announced right before Stefan hit the lights and everyone hid behind couches and in corners of Elijah and Katherine's household. The brunette twins were told they were having a birthday dinner with their husbands and that Caroline and Bonnie would be stopping by for dessert (and to return their children). Well, they were in for a surprise. Literally.

Everyone stayed quiet as they heard two pairs of footsteps walking to up the steps to the front door. "Elena, I don't want to go in there," Katherine hissed as her sister picked out the extra set of keys she was given to the house. "Caroline obviously threw us a surprise party—I can't be see—" Before Katherine could finish her sentence, Elena opened the door and sure enough a couple dozen of their best friends and family jumped up from crooks and corners and couches, each one of them yelling "SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

However, everyone's smile faded when they noticed the huge black eye accessorizing Katherine's face and the ice pack she held to her jaw.

"Oh my god, what happened?" Elijah rushed over to his wife in a frantic worry.

"I-I'm fine," Katherine tried to assure everyone, especially her husband. "I got attacked at my store. They stole all the money in the cash register and a couple of sketches."

"Did you try to fight back, is that why you got attacked?" Jenna asked, her voice laced with worry.

Katherine shook her head. "The guy said this was 'unfinished business' he had to finish," she mocked his Russian accent. "I assume it was Aurora. She said she'd come back and destroy me. I thought she was bluffing—apparently not," Katherine let out a sob on her last two words.

"Elena, why didn't you take her to the hospital?" Stefan inquired.

"I wanted to!" Elena said. "But Kat wanted to come back here first. She said she feels fine, nothing was broken."

Katherine shook her head. "I really do feel fine, I swear. I just… am not in the mood for a party. I am so sorry Caroline; I know you threw this party for us…"

Caroline shook her head. "Please! I want you to rest." The bubbly blonde came to give her sister-in-law a hug. "I can't believe this happened to you; I am so sorry."

"It's whatever," Katherine shrugged.

Rebekah made her way over to Damon and asked, "Is there anything you can do?"

Damon shook his head. "Not unless evidence appears at the crime scene or Aurora confesses to hiring a hit man."

Rebekah sighed and shook her head. She shared a look with Kol and they seemed to be reading each other's minds.

Rebekah's tires slid across the pavement as she pulled into the parking spot. Her brother, Kol, was holding on for dear life.

"Jesus Christ! Bex!" He cursed as he watched his pregnant sister yank the keys out of the ignition. "It's not like she's going anywhere!" He opened the door and followed the blonde into the building. "Why are you pregnant and still faster than I am?!"

"Because I'm pissed off!" She huffed before she stopped in her tracks. "And obviously out of breath," she breathed. Kol took her hand and helped her up the rest of the steps. When they were finally in the building, she relaxed. "We need to tell Aurora off. She shouldn't be able to get away with what she did to Katherine."

"Okay, but why am I here?"

"Because it is partially our fault," she pointed between the two of them. "I know Katherine said this would've happened eventually without our connection to Tristan, but I still feel guilty. I don't think it would have escalated this far without our childish foolishness in the mix."

Kol nodded. "I know. But what would we even say to her? It's not like she'll admit what she did to anyone."

Rebekah brought her hand to her pocket where the tape recorder was. "I wouldn't be so sure…"

Caroline beamed as her eyes fell upon the little white stick that revealed to her something she has been hoping for months now.

Yes, Caroline and Klaus have been trying to have a baby since early April. She remembers the conversation as clear as day.

*April 6th, 2015*

Caroline laid in bed as the sounds of birds chirping awoke her from her slumber. She turned around to see her fiancée sleeping and snoring peacefully. Her heart ached as she thought about how much she loved him. As the blonde glanced at the clock and realized it was sadly time for her to take a shower and get ready for class, she felt a hand grab hers and pull her into his embrace.

"Do you want to have a baby?" he whispered into her ear.

A shocked smile illuminated her face. "What?"

"I had a dream that we had a little baby," he smiled sheepishly. "I've been awake for a while, and I pretended to sleep when you turned to look at me. But I've been thinking about it and I want us to try." He looked in her eyes. "That is, if you want to."

She giggled and hid her face into his shoulder. "Of course, I want to have a baby with you. Are you saying we should start trying right now?"

"It may not happen right off the bat, but even if it does happen before our wedding, you're not going to be so huge and you'll be able to fit into your wedding dress." Their wedding date, June 14th, was a little over two months away.

"How am I going to keep this a secret?" She laughed.

"You're going to have to…" he kissed her cheek. "You especially can't tell your mother."

"But she should know!"

"Not that we're trying! When you're pregnant, she can be the first to know," he promised.

"I can't believe we're going to have a baby," Caroline could not wipe the grin off her face.

"You're not pregnant, yet," Klaus said as he rested his hands on her stomach. "Shall we start right now?" he whispered, seductively, in her ear.

She groaned. "I have class in an hour."

He rolled on top of her and said, "I can be fast." She broke into a fit of laughter, laughter which he quieted with a kiss.

Caroline smiled fondly at the memory. She was so excited that she was pregnant. They made the decision to start trying before they even made the quick decision to elope last month. During that ceremony, Caroline wore the wedding dress she always dreamed of wearing—her mother's. Her father almost started crying when he saw her in her wedding dress. Caroline had only one request of her guests at such short notice: Elena and Bonnie had to wear their bridesmaid dresses and walk down the aisle throwing flower petals, and Klaus had to wear a tux; everyone else just had to be there with a smile. She continues to smile fondly at another memory. She still feels the confetti on her skin that was thrown into the air as her and Klaus walked between the two lines of their best friends.

"Love?" Klaus asked from the other side of the bathroom door. He waited patiently as his wife took the pregnancy test. She expressed to him last night that she wanted to try and take a test, and so they woke up early so they could go buy one at the drugstore. "What did it say?"

She opened the door and flew into his arms. "We're having a baby!"

"Really?!" he grinned and picked her up and spun her around. "I'm so happy," he whispered as he closed the distance between their lips. Caroline leaned into the kiss, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and lightly tugging at his hair. "I love you," he breathed after they pulled away.

"I love you, too," she smiled. She rested his hands on her stomach and addressed her words to the fetus who was only the size of a pebble now. "And we love you, our little miracle."

"Can we speak to Aurora de Martel," Rebekah asked as she shot the receptionist a fake smile. Aurora is now working as VP of an internet company, where she oversees sales and advertisements. Rebekah rolled her eyes at how fancy this building was. They were about to suffer a big hit.

The receptionist nodded as she picked up the phone to dial Aurora's extension. "Good morning, Ms. Martel. You have two customers who would love to come see you… their names?"

"Stefan Salvatore and Lexi Branson," Rebekah answered. Kol turned to look at her incredulously. As the receptionist repeated the names over the phone, the blonde mother-to-be whispered, "If I said our real names, do you really think she would have let us in?" Kol nodded in understanding.

The receptionist, Mary, hung up the phone and smiled. "Go down the hallway on the left and she will be your third door on the right."

"Thank you," Kol nodded as he followed his sister down the hallway. "What are we going to say?" he asked his sister.

"Just follow my lead," she grinned evilly. She burst open the door to Aurora's office. "Hello, Aurora de Martel. My name is Rebekah Mikaelson—"

At the mention of her name, Aurora jumped up and, in the process, knocked off all her papers off her desk.

"—I want to know what your reason is for assaulting Katherine Mikaelson."

"I have no idea what you're talking about," the red head snarled. "I assume you're Kol," she glanced at the male in question. "You two have a lot of nerve coming to my place of work."

"We have a lot of nerve?" Kol laughed. "You have a lot of nerve coming into my sister-in-law's workplace and hiring someone to rob and assault her! What were you hoping to achieve?"

"Nothing you can do will make you feel better, trust me," Rebekah added. "You are a bitter, lonely woman who enjoys taking it out on someone who has found happiness and success. You could not handle the fact that Katherine moved on with her life without you!"

"You have no idea what you're talking about—"

"You like to blame anyone else but yourself," Rebekah cut off Aurora. "You destroyed your friendship, but you couldn't handle it. I am sincerely sorry for the joke we played on your brother, but he was the one who started it and I think you know that."

"Katherine was a horrible friend to me!" Aurora shouted. "She left me. She didn't care about me anymore—I had to take away something she care about—"

"The business that you helped build up from the bottom?" Kol snared. "What was the point of making it successful just to break it down, since your issues with Kat originated far early in the business process—"

"I can't explain my thought process!" Aurora let out a hurling scream. "She deserved what I did to her! I wanted to scare her!" Aurora let out a sob. "I didn't mean for him to hurt her… I just wanted her sketches," she admitted. "I was going to sell them to competitors. I-I couldn't let her get everything I wanted: a husband, not one but two babies, a successful company, friends who actually care about her. Her and I were the exact same growing up, but all these good things happened to her while I was left in the shadows."

Rebekah and Kol paused. They were taken aback that Aurora admitted that she hired the hitman. Neither of them knew how to proceed with this conversation.

"The difference is Katherine made efforts to becoming a better person, someone who was worthy of Elijah and Elena. She worked for everything she has, even her relationships," Kol told her, as he was in the same boat except, he worked to be worthy of Bonnie. During their senior year of high school, Kol and Katherine hung out all the time. They were both new and their personalities were both too strong for the company of Elena, Caroline, and company. They wouldn't call themselves best friends because their friendship faded away after Kol left to go play baseball but do love each other and their bickering is a way of showing each other that. Fun fact: they even went to the prom together—as friends, of course. They honestly never hooked up. Kol likes to tease his sister-in-law, but he loves her because she took him in as a friend when he was new to the town and graduating in merely 8 months. She liked him because instead of fighting her ideas, he went along with them. When Elijah and Katherine announced they were getting married, Kol was happy beyond belief that Elijah found someone like her.

Rebekah's phone beeped with a text from Damon that read
On our way.

That was all the information Rebekah needed. "Aurora de Martel, you are under arrest for the assault and battery of Katherine Mikaeslon."

"What?" Aurora snapped. "You can't do that!"

"Yes, she can," Damon announced as him, Enzo and a couple other officers barged into the office. Damon approached Aurora, pulled her wrists behind her back and snapped the handcuffs shut.

"Wha-?" Kol turned to his sister.

The second youngest Mikaelson pulled out the tape recorder she had in her coat pocket. "I had Damon listening to this recording this entire time." Aurora's mouth fell agape. "Bet you weren't expecting that, bitch," Rebekah smirked as her brother gave her a high five.

"Wasn't expecting my sister to be a badass!" Kol cheered.

Rebekah laughed. "Get used to it."

The following Sunday came as if the week barely existed. Katherine had closed her shop up since the accident, but she is preparing to open it up tomorrow. Her and her employees now agree that no one will be left alone in the store. Although the recent attack was because someone had a personal vendetta, there is still a chance for a robbery by any criminal.

The beauty who possessed a black eye laid on the couch, cuddling with her seven-month-old son while her daughter kept picking up toys and smiling. Both of her children were such happy babies and it made her heart beam with glee. She had never seen a baby as happy as the two little twins. While Katherine enjoyed baby time, her husband was in the kitchen preparing dinner for his siblings and their families.

"Are you okay to go back to work tomorrow?" Elijah asked his beautiful wife.

"I have to be," she chuckled. "It's how we make money."

"I can support us for a few weeks—"

"I know. And I will have money coming in from sales in other stores… but, I like having something to do during the week. Owning my own store has been a dream come true."

Elijah walked over and sat on the edge of the couch, looking down at his wife as she spoke. His heart swelled watching her cuddle with their baby boy, and he picked up their daughter so he could feel the warmth of a small child in his arms. There is no better feeling than when his children cuddle up to him, which they do very often. Even amid playing, if you pick them up, they will immediately melt into your arms. They're basically perfect—except, that Hayden does drool a lot and Sophia doesn't sleep.

"But I did enjoy spending the week with these little babies!" Katherine's voice interrupted his thoughts.

Elijah smiled. "I wish I could have more than just one day with them a week."

"Take vacation time! Let's go on vacation!" Katherine exclaimed.

"Where would we go?" he chuckled.

"Anywhere you want," she answered.

He thought about it as he smelled something burning. "Let's think about it, but right now I have to get back to cooking dinner!" Elijah exclaimed as he ran towards the smoking stove.

An hour later, most of the Mikaelson family has arrived with the exception of Kol, Bonnie, Emma, Matt and Rebekah, who were carpooling as they lived on the same area of town. They do not usually carpool as sometimes Matt works on Sundays, so he and Rebekah show up a little later.

"The cute siblings have arrived!" Kol announced his and his sister's presence.

Klaus, Elijah and Finn rolled their eyes whilst Freya just laughed.

Katherine did something that surprised everyone in the household: she ran towards Kol and Rebekah and attacked them in a hug, while squealing, "You guys love me!"

"No, I do not," Rebekah scoffed while Kol chuckled, "Of course I do."

Katherine turned around, keeping her arms wrapped around the second and third youngest Mikaelson siblings' shoulders. "Come on, Bekah, you love me!" She pulled Rebekah's face closer to hers.

Rebekah rolled her eyes but still wrapped her arms around Katherine's waist. "Yes, maybe a little."

Elijah grinned at his wife and two younger siblings. He knew Kol and Katherine were friends, despite them never acting like it, but he was glad to see Kat and Bekah get along after over eight years of a rocky relationship.

"Aww, group hug!" Caroline squealed as she ran and attacked her three in-laws. "I love you guys!"

"No!" Katherine and Rebekah both tried to pull away, but Matt and Elijah joined the hug, shortly followed by everyone else.

When everyone separated, Katherine let out a sigh. "I really do appreciate what you guys did for me. And Damon! You guys got Aurora to admit what she did, and you got justice for me."

"Don't forget all the nice things they said about you!" Klaus teased.

Katherine grinned as she gave Kol another hug.

"What's for dinner?" Hope asked as her and Emma ran in from the playroom.

"I am starving!" Tate exclaimed as he followed his older cousins.

The adults all laughed and continued their weekly family dinner, enjoying the time they get to spend together and watching their kids play together.

I hope you guys liked the chapter! I'm sorry the Aurora storyline came and gone so quickly—I believe I originally planned something that would last a couple of chapters, but I want to move on. I have new ideas that I want to get started on.

Most of my ideas are cute and fluffy family things, so if you guys want drama maybe you can comment what you would like to see?

Next chapter is the Klaroline wedding reception! It will actually be posted immediately following this, so you guys have more to read
