"Pansy!" Jade tried again, they were almost done going over all of the guides to study the Professors had passed out to all of the students but Pansy kept forgetting the answers to a few of them and they'd gone over the same questions over and over again. "Name the two methods of degnoming!"

"The one with the throwing and the one with the hippogriff." She said again as she had before when Jade asked earlier in their study session,

"And what are they called?" Jade asked, this was the furthest they've gotten on this question.

"The throwing method and the hippogriff method," Pansy said folding her arms under her chest and leaning back in her chair.

"You know that's wrong."

"I don't care!" Pansy sighed, "I'm bored. I'm over studying."

"You have two more questions." Jade put her head in her hands as her elbows rested on the table. "We've been at this for three hours. Two more questions and we're done!" Jade rubbed her head, Pansy was being difficult and Jade was growing tired of trying to pull answers out of her. "Just finish this one and we can be done, okay?" Pansy looked back at her instead of around the Common Room,

"The swing and toss method and the Jarvey method," Pansy stated, slamming her hands down on the table as she quickly rose from her chair. Jade copied her actions,

"You knew?" Pansy started gathering up her papers and books, "Why didn't you just say it right the first time?"

"I didn't see the end in sight." Pansy smiled. "I'm free." Jade was confused. All Pansy wanted to do was be done studying, but she purposefully prolonged the studying!

"You're mental," Jade told her as Pansy hurried to put her books back in the dormitory,

"I know!" She yelled back and Jade sighed. She looked around the Common Room for Draco so they could go practice Potions. She hadn't spotted him. Jade grabbed her Potions book from her room and made her way towards the Great Hall, peered inside, looking for Draco's extremely light hair, it was almost white, and it would stick out in a large crowd, but she didn't find him there either. She made her way to the courtyard where she finally found him talking with Crabbe and Goyle.

"Maddex." Draco greeted her as she walked up to them,

"Malfoy." She replied with a small smile, "Are you ready?" She asked and he stood from his leaned position against the large fountain in the middle of the courtyard.

"Of course." He said goodbye to Crabbe and Goyle and then walked with Jade to the dungeons, "Snape said we could practice in his classroom."

"How did you persuade him to do that?" Jade asked, baffled. Draco just smiled,

"I'm his favorite student." Jade rolled her eyes. "He likes you too," Draco added,

"He doesn't like anyone, he just tolerates us because we're Slytherins."

"He doesn't like Crabbe or Goyle, he thinks they're mindless gits."

"They are mindless gits." Jade agreed and Draco laughed. He pulled open Snape's classroom door and Jade walked through. Professor Snape wasn't in the room.

"Snape's in the breakroom. He trusted me enough to not burn down the classroom." Jade and Draco reflexively made their way to their workstation even though they could go anywhere now that the class was empty.

"I don't think I need help making the actual potions." Jade told him, "I just need help with memorizing some of the instructions." Draco nodded and they simultaneously sat on their stools. Jade opened her book and laid out her study guide that she had filled out halfway. Draco leaned closer towards her so he could get a look at it. Their shoulders barely touching each other as Jade asked Draco to help her clear up a few things she was unsure about. Draco would glance up at her every now and then as she filled out blank spaces on her guide. He noted the way she kept tucking her hair behind her ear as it fell in her face, and the way she'd tap her right pointer finger on the table when she was thinking. "The proper color order of a correctly made Forgetfulness Potion?" Jade asked scanning the few remaining questions she needed filled, Jade looked up at Draco to find him staring at her, "What?" She asked him.

"Nothing," He looked down at her paper, "I don't think it's fair if I just give you the answers, how will you learn?" He asked with a smirk,

"I'll learn it when you tell me." She told him and he twitched his head to the side,

"Fair enough. It'll start dark blue with red sparks." He started and Jade quickly wrote it down, "Then it'll finish in an orange-red." Jade paused,

"That's it? I thought there was another one." She wrote it down and then skimmed her now nearly complete study guide. "Thank you." She smiled at Draco and he waved her off,

"Don't worry about it. I needed a refresher."

"No, you didn't." Jade narrowed her eyes at him and he smiled,

"No, I didn't. But, you're my friend." Draco felt a warmth creeping up to his face as she smiled at him and he turned away from her, "Last question?" He asked so she'd turn her attention back to the guide.

"Why should you never give a Muggle a potion?" She read to him,

"Because they don't deserve our help." He told her and she gave him a disapproving look, "I'm joking."

"No, you're not." She sighed,

"No, I'm not. But, the real answer is because their bodies can't handle magical concoctions." She watched him for a second before writing down his answer. Jade relaxed in her stool, they were finally done. "I think you're ready now."

"I think so too." Jade and Draco made their way back to the Common Room. Jade felt ready for the exams, she was confident in her ability to receive good marks on them. Jade left her friends in the Common Room to write to her parents. She told them of how she studied with her friends, of how she was ready for her exams, how she missed them, and how she would see them soon. Jade made her way to the West Tower where it had been transformed into the owlery. She'd been here a few times to spend time with Ezekiel and send letters to her family. When she reached the top of the tower the hooting became louder, Jade passed Hagrid as he left the owlery.

"Hello, Hagrid." Jade greeted and Hagrid gave a large smile,

"Hi there, Jade! Comin' to see yer owl?" He asked and Jade nodded, "They've just been fed so they should be well behaved."

"Thank you." She smiled and he gave her a nod before he made his way down the stairs. Jade entered the owlery and called for Ezekiel. He swooped down from high up on a perch and onto her awaiting arm. "Hello there." She cooed at him as she scratched under his ear and he leaned into her touch. "I have a job for you." She told him and held up her letter, he plucked it from her hand eagerly. "Get this to mum and father, would you?" Ezekiel hooted and took off her arm and out of one of the many large holes cut out like windows in the stone room. Jade peered out an empty window and watched Ezekiel fly off into the open air.
