Summary: While waiting for the results of the Dirty Dozen auditions, Sebastian uses Blaine's words against him to make him do something he would never have done otherwise.

Notes: For Ali & her niece

When Brody told Blaine and Rachel to come with him, neither expected to be taken to the same place. "Why does Madame Tibideaux want me and Blaine to come to Cassie July's studio? Shouldn't I be waiting with Beatrice since I'm her mentor?"

"Beatrice is fine. Her family is with her but if you want, I will stop by before going to wait with Sam." Brody opened the door, motioning for them to go in. "And I never said it was Madame Tibideaux who wanted to see the two of you."

Seeing Sebastian standing in the middle of the studio was the last thing either expected. Well, Blaine expected to see him, but not with Rachel. "Bas, what's…?"

"You and Rachel are going to talk...really talk."

"I love you but that's not happening."

"Yes, it is. She's your family."

"No, she's not."

"And Chandler is?"

Rachel watched the back-and-forth like a tennis match until holding on Sebastian's question. What did Chandler have to do with any of this? It was like he read her mind when Blaine responded "Chandler is family because he's Rosa's great-nephew."

"And Rachel is Hiram and Leroy Berry's daughter." Blaine hadn't noticed the men joined them until Sebastian walked over to where they were standing. "They're your family."

"Bas…"

"No, Killer. You are not going to win this one." Sebastian paused a moment before he brought up something the Anderson family spent a lot of effort avoiding. "I know you love your dad but what happened when you came out will always be an issue no matter how much family therapy you guys go to. There are just some things you'll never be able to discuss with him."

It wasn't a mystery to what he was referring to. "You mean gay things" Blaine's tone might have been defensive but he knew Sebastian meant well.

"I was trying to find a more appropriate way to say it but yes, gay things."

"Blaine" As Leroy stepped toward him, everyone else moved away. Even Hiram knew the relationship between his husband and the boy was special. "Please do this. I don't want to lose you."

"If nothing else, Killer, you were the one who said Leroy was the one person you would trust to fix your YouTube channel."

Fuck! Blaine hated his own words could be used against him. "Fine, yes, I said that. But, seriously Bas, what is this…an intervention? Not good. Remember the one my parents tried only a couple weeks ago? The one where they tried to convince me I was brain damaged?"

"Oh, I remember and was well aware of how pissed you'd be. Now you understand how I feel about that particular decision you made without telling me, or any of the guys, even though it directly involved all of us."

He was about to go off again when the obvious hit Blaine like a ton of bricks. This was about him taking the plea deal on Fight Club. Well played, Bas. Well played. "Fine, but only until the announcement. Are you staying?"

Sebastian laughed as he walked over and pulled Blaine into a breathtaking kiss, the first they shared since their fight in the cab. When he pulled away, he used his thumb to wipe Blaine's lip. "Oh, hell no. I don't care what she has to say. I told you, Killer. Old Sebastian is back. He would have never fallen for her bullshit."

All three Berrys were taken aback but Sebastian didn't stay to listen to any protests. He knew he had to get his emotions in check for what would happen next. Plus, despite it sounding completely insane (or pathetic, he'd decide later), he missed Rachel. Probably should add that to his "Dr. Sheppard" list. Good thing they'd be back in Ohio in a few days before the list could get any longer.

Shit! Did he just jinx himself?

When he arrived at the steps of the main building, he felt the need to call Trent. He missed his best friend and wanted to see if they could have some time together before Blaine dropped the plea deal bomb on the guys. Unfortunately, he was met with another situation he had no desire to deal with.

"Adam, there's nothing to say."

"I only wanted to apologize and say if you ever require a sympathetic ear…"

Sebastian put his hand up as a sign for him to stop. He knew Blaine had had issues with the constant flirting but he actually liked Adam and felt bad, like it was his fault the Brit was involved in the first place. "Listen Adam, I like you. You're a really nice guy who got pulled into a Greek Tragedy not of your own making. But I want to make something clear."

"You love Blaine."

That was easy. "Yes, I love Blaine and have for a lot longer than we've been together. I loved him through Hummel, show choir pissing contests and the biggest mistake I will ever make. I don't see a time where I won't love him, even if we're not together. He's always going to be a part of me and I refuse to ever hurt him again."

"Again?"

"Don't play naïve. I'm sure Hummel told you my complete history with Blaine."

"Oh yes, he was quite adamant to portray you as the epitome of Satan himself, who, as he proclaims, he is only attempting to protect his true love from."

Sebastian let out a chuckle thinking that was a very Adam (politely British) way for him to say whatever Kurt had actually called him. It really did seem like the guy was on their side, so, after a short internal debate, he made a decision he hoped he wouldn't regret. "Look, like I said, you didn't deserve to be dragged into this mess so I'm giving you a heads up. Some shit is about to go down. Once the announcements are done, you need to separate yourself from Hummel as quickly as possible. Not only physically but verbally, loud enough for everyone in the room to hear you."

"Seb…"

Even though there was no one around, Sebastian moved closer to whisper. "What's about to happen is what Killer means when he says the word consequences and I am taking a big risk by giving you this heads-up. Oh, and Adam, take my advice, don't take it, your decision. Tell Hummel somethings going down…you will never recover from your consequences. I'll see to it."

Yeah, Old Sebastian was back!

As Adam left, Sebastian noticed three identical vans pull into NYADA's limited parking. They were early. Blaine told his mother's second cousin once…oh hell, Blaine told Andy this couldn't go down until after the announcement. Guess the call to Trent would have to wait.

While the interaction between Sebastian and Adam took only a few minutes, the same amount of time seemed much longer to Blaine and Rachel. They had settled on opposite ends of the studio's long window seat…bunkering in, each to gather their thoughts. Rachel knew she should be the one to break the ice but how? Maybe he'd answer a question. "Finn testifying against Mr. Schue to the school board. Was that the favor he did for you?"

Blaine stared at her, not understanding what she was trying to ask. "Favor he did…oh, no, that's not what I said. I said I wouldn't go after Finn because I owed someone a favor. What's the saying? He had one job…keep Kurt from doing something stupid. Cooper told him that meant posting shit online."

That made sense. "Is Puck the person you owe the favor?"

"He and Santana have been the two people from the Old New Directions who've supported me since all of this shit with Kurt went down." Blaine let out a laugh Rachel found a little scary. "If you would have told me that this time last year, I'd have told you you'd lost your fucking mind."

"Well, it's not nearly as surprising as you and Sugar keeping the fact the two of you are cousins secret for over an entire year."

This time Blaine's laugh was the one she remembered. "I will give you that."

"And I don't think I ever saw you hanging out with either Santana or Noah on your own, but he did give you a One of the guys shot glass."

"Oh god, don't get me started on that." It took one look for Blaine to figure out Rachel actually did need explanation. "Hanging with Mike was ok, as long as it was New Directions related, but One of the guys? It was like I wasn't supposed to have friends. You saw the fits Kurt threw when I had the audacity to suggest visiting Dalton. And what happened the one time he felt he wasn't the center of my universe?"

"Chandler"

She sounded so small Blaine almost felt sorry for her…almost. "It took me a lot of time, distance and therapy to see it."

"But you and I were friends."

"Were we? I thought we were but obviously I was wrong. If we were friends you wouldn't have gone after Sebastian for Kurt. Why would you do that to him?" All of his anger had been directed at what he believed Rachel did to Sebastian. He closed his eyes and took a breath when he realized this had very little to do with Sebastian. "Why would you do that to me?"

And with that, Rachel lost her battle with tears "I wanted you back. I wanted what we had when we were together at McKinley."

"And to hell with what I wanted?"

"That's not what I meant."

"Then please tell me what the hell you did mean. When I wanted to sing a song at Sugar Shack 2.0 that would leave Bas speechless, who did I turn to? You. When you slept with Finn and freaked out about it, who did you turn to at 6 AM for a walk of shame? Me. Who went to Schuester's reception, against his will, to sing a song with you because you promised Emma and didn't want Finn to get the wrong impression? Me. Sounds like we maintained a lot of what we had last year, especially considering you moving to NYC and my one-time boyfriend losing his fucking mind!"

"Blaine…"

"I'm not done!"

"You didn't tell me about Brody!"

Rachel couldn't believe she yelled. Blaine couldn't believe she went there. "I let Kurt tell everyone we know that I was a whore to keep that secret. I went into a depression to keep that secret. It wasn't my secret to tell, which is something you're going to have to learn. I had no idea what he was doing for money…which was the only part of his secret that affected you. So, please explain to me how me not telling you Brody was Tommy compares in any way with what you did."

Despite what he said, he wasn't going to give her the chance to answer and headed for the door. He'd deal with Sebastian later but, in that moment, there was nothing Rachel could say to justify her actions.

"I thought I was pregnant."

Except maybe that because…Huh? No…she did not just say…did she? Blaine turned and the expression on her face said it all. "You were…"

"I thought I was pregnant. I had a positive in-home test. Santana found it and made me go to the doctor. It wound up being a false positive."

"Santana?" Blaine remembered a conversation he had with his best girl before Stacy Evan's birthday party at Vogue. "The other day she and I were talking about Brody and I could tell she was hiding something. Guess she was keeping a secret that wasn't her's to tell." Hopefully she got the hint, even if the timing was a bit cruel. As he walked back over, he chose to sit closer this time. "Did you know when you came back for Mr. Schue's wedding?"

"No. I was late but thought…hoped…it was due to the stress of…well, breaking up with Brody. Santana was great when she found the test but got busy with her photo shoot. After the scare, the only person I was talking to on a regular basis was Sugar."

Sugar? "Oh, yeah. You were tutoring her on how to be a Show Choir diva."

"She was so enthusiastic, and the more I worked with her the more she reminded me of you. Can I say again, it still blows my mind the two of you were able to the fact you were cousins secret for an entire year?"

"You and Puck should start a club."

Rachel let out a nervous chuckle. "Sugar made me think of you…miss you so much, but Santana's your best girl. We have no walls, Blaine. She was rarely home, but when she was, I could hear her laughing on the phone with you. You also Skyped with Mercedes once a week to talk about Dream Girls."

Blaine knew from experience he had to interrupt to get her back on point. "Ok, while I wish I would have known you needed to talk, what does this have to do with you thinking you were pregnant…or Brody or Kurt or Bas?"

"Not that it's an excuse, but I felt completely alone. I had these two fanboys after I won Winter Showcase but my only friend at NYADA had been Brody. There was no way I could talk to him and I wasn't emotionally ready to have more than a passing conversation about the New Directions with Finn. I actually thought of getting in touch with Quinn since she's studying psychology. Then Kurt called..."

"And he convinced you, now that he had a second-chance at NYADA, last year's plan for the three of us to be there together was a possibility" Blaine sighed, as he finished the sentence for her. Knowing Rachel for as long as he had, he was able to navigate the convoluted road map needed to get to the place where she thought this was a good idea.

After all, she once sent a potential Glee Club rival to a crack house.

However, there was something he couldn't understand. "How did you wind up on Bas' front porch?"

"Kurt asked me to find out if you and Sebastian had actually broken-up."

Blaine's head dropped into his hands as he let out a groan of frustration. "I almost forgot about that fucking stupid Sebreak." He lifted his head to look her in the eyes. He didn't want to repeat himself.

There would be enough of that when he returned to Dalton.

"Bas and I never broke-up. Some guys at Dalton overheard Bas saying we should break-up as a joke and it telephoned…Oh. You couldn't ask me because I was sequestered until I could give my deposition, or at least you thought I still was. So, you went to Bas. How did you know where he lived?"

"I knew his dad was a lawyer so I called his office."

That didn't sound right "And they just gave you the address?"

Rachel tried not to smile but the corner of her mouth curved up with pride. "I said I worked for another attorney and had to deliver papers to his house but had the wrong address. Before you ask, I told them I was new and didn't want to call my office because they would fire me. Then I cried…a lot. It wasn't hard. I had had a couple of really crappy days and was having a pity party thinking no one would notice I was gone."

"They did."

"I know and Santana let me have it. And surprisingly, so did Wes."

"Good." Blaine sat back into the bench and mulled over everything she had told him. A lot of it he understood, especially the wanting things back to the way they had been. He couldn't count the number of times he wished he never would have left Dalton but Sugar (and supposedly Kurt) needed him at McKinley. However, there was one point she never addressed. "Once you connected with Bas, and the two of you were this weirdly-symbiotic BFF organism, why didn't you say something? Yes, he would have been upset but would have gotten past it because he hates secrets…SHIT!"

Again, Blaine's own words were smacking him in the face. He was punishing Rachel for not saying something when he kept his plea deal from Sebastian. Oh, she was still facing consequences but it looked like he needed to face some as well. Maybe, since Old Sebastian was back, he should call Jerimiah when they get back and pick-up some new ways for his sexy boyfriend to punish him.

And maybe some loud dorm sex would put that idiotic Sebreak crap to rest once and for all.

He took a deep breath to calm himself (and clear the rather graphic images that kept popping up). Somehow, during that time, Rachel had begun a conversation with the newly arrived Brody.

How had he missed that? Oh, yeah…thoughts of Sebastian…NO! Focus.

The first thing Blaine heard clearly was Rachel asking Brody about her mentee. "Did you check on Beatrice?"

"Actually, she and Trevor have been with me and Sam."

"Where's her family?"

"Rachel, it's been 3 hours. Madame Tibideaux's suggestion friends and family wait elsewhere became an order about an hour ago" Brody laughed. It was obvious neither had realized they had been talking for so long. He hoped it was a good sign. "Of course, those rules don't apply to Her Tony or his charming boyfriend. Blaine, Sebastian said to tell you everything is a go, if that makes sense."

"It does. Is he waiting where I think he is?"

"Yes, but he's not alone. He's with some guy he calls Doc." Blaine put his hand over his mouth to literally hold back a grin. He could see a bored Sebastian inviting Doctor Shepard to stop by and meet Tommy/Eli/Brody. "Also, Mercedes just got here, looking for you."

"Did she say why?"

"The only thing she said was If it would have been a snake it would have bit her."

"If it would have been a snake…" Fuck! That changed everything. "Brody, tell Sam I'll see him after. Rachel, tell Beatrice I said good luck although I don't believe she or Trevor will need it."

Brody grabbed Rachel's arm and shook his head. He could tell from her expression she was thankful her prevented her from asking questions about Mercedes' arrival and Blaine's sudden exit. "Did the two of you get everything worked out?"

"What? Like you and Blaine have worked everything out?" Brody turned to leave but Rachel stopped him. "I didn't…I mean…you and Blaine seem fine. Old family friends adjusting to a new normal."

"Let me guess, you asked him why he didn't tell you about me."

She said she wasn't going to do that. "I'm sorry, I really am" The words were already out of her mouth before Rachel realized it wasn't the truth. "You know what? No, I'm not. What he went through keeping your secret…I, I didn't understand until I heard the pain in his voice as he described it."

"And you're wondering why I'm not facing any consequences."

"Well…yes."

Brody had to admit he had wondered too. In fact, he asked his brother Cam about it…who immediately sent him to Rosa to smack him upside his head.

Lovingly, of course.

"Blaine has this way of putting people in different boxes. It's how he separates his Uncle Robert from Al Motta. With me there's Tommy, but Tommy's dead. I'm beginning to accept that. There's also Brody…prodigal, quote/unquote, son returned and hopefully future brother of his sweet baby cousin. He would never do anything to upset her but…"

"But?"

"You're forgetting someone."

"Who…?" Rachel now knew what Sam meant by his epiphanies "Eli."

"Eli who ghosted him on Facebook, tricked him into meeting with the express purpose of hooking up even though he knew Blaine was in a relationship, ambushed him with the fact he was his supposedly dead first love and then asked him to keep his true identity a secret. Eli who knew Blaine was struggling with the secret but did nothing but hide behind it like a little bitch. Then the minute he hears Blaine and his new boyfriend have split he sends a letter saying he still loves him."

"Brody…"

"No, Rachel, I want you to get this. I, Brody, probably won't face Blaine's consequences but some day Eli will have hell to pay. Now, let's get Sam and Beatrice and get to the Dirty Dozen announcement. I have a feeling this is going to be very interesting."

End Notes:

Blaine's "intervention" (flashbacks) was in Chapter 44 Two Guys on a Beach

Blaine told Rachel he wouldn't give Finn "consequences" because he owed someone a favor in Chapter 62 Where's the Popcorn, Part 2

Blaine could tell Santana was hiding something during a conversation in Chapter 49 New York Besties & A Very Special Birthday

If it would have been a snake it would have bit her is a phrase meaning a person not believing they didn't see something which should have been obvious.
