DM Margo In Oz Chapter 1
One peaceful morning in Gru's house, Margo told her parents she wanted to be a singer. At first Gru had his doubts. But Lucy thought Margo would do great, ''Oh come Gru'' she said, ''What's the worst that can happen? Margo has a lovely voice. She's bound to sing like an angel''.
"NO!" Gru snapped, ''No, no no! I can't let you do dis young lady!''. ''Oh please Dad!'' Margo begged, ''Don't tell me you're going back to your old self like you were when we first meet!''.
''The physical appearance of the please makes no difference'' said Gru which was something he'd said when he'd refused to read Margo and her sisters a bedtime story, ''It is still no so case closed''. ''But why Dad?'' Margo said, ''Singing is just another way of saying words like we doing right now!''.
"Because I'm your father, and I say so!" Gru declared. ''Remember when I said you were never gonna be my dad?'' Margo blurted out, ''Cos now I wish it really turned out like that! Just when I thought you had a change of heart, I can see now that you're acting no different to how you were when you first adopted Edith, Agnes and me for your own selfish needs of delivering cookie robots so you could steal the moon and be the greatest super villain of all time!''.
Gru was too stunned to speak that Margo had made him fall into the back into line one again. ''She's got you there Gru'' said Lucy. ''And without singing lessons, I'll just keep getting up and bugging you all night long'' Margo threatened. Gru remembered the last time Margo made this threat and stammered. ''Anything you'd like to say Gru?'' Lucy asked, ''Don't be shy now''. ''I..,er'' Gru continued to stammer. Then before he could say anything, a voice on the TV distracted him.
There on the screen was the weather reporter. ''We have an important announcement to share with you tonight'' he said, "This just in. The National Weather Bureau has raised the tornado alert from right-foot green to right-foot yellow". Gru gasped.
''What do we do?'' Lucy panicked. "Quick!" shouted Gru. "Everyone into the lab's cellar!". They all headed down the stairs into the lab. Gru and Dru counted all of the Minions. Lucy gathered the girls, the dogs and Lucky the goat. Suddenly Lucky slipped away, ''Lucky No!'' Margo shouted, ''Come back!''. She began to chase after him.
There was a loud crash of thunder and a strike of lighting as the tornado got closer and closer. "MARGO!" Gru hollered. But she was already gone. Margo finally found Lucky in her bedroom and scooped up the little goat in her arms. ''Come on Lucky'' she said reassuringly, ''I'll look after you''.
Suddenly, before Margo could think of anything else, everything began to shake slowly, then it grew faster, and faster, and faster. Then it started rumbling. Margo started to run back towards the lab. But it was too late. A big jolt knocked Margo off her feet. Then she felt a vibrate below her. Everything in the room started moving and rocking backwards and forwards.
''MOM! DAD!'' Margo shouted as loud as she could, ''HELP!''. The entire body of the mighty tornado had lifted Gru's house off the ground, away from the neighbourhood. That just left the lab without a covering like an open top bus.
Margo gripped Lucky tightly in her grasps as the house swung around violently. She knew that with all the rumbling no one would be able to hear her screaming for help. "Hold on, Lucky!" Margo cried, still clinging onto him. Then the house took off like a rocket, It tossed and turned, knocking over the objects and furnitures.
A few moments later, Margo and Lucky watched as they were both felt no gravity in the house once it was high above the clouds. Finally, the flying house shot out of the tornado just before it plummeted back to earth.
Margo braced herself for the crash as the house hit the ground with a thud. THWUMP! Margo opened her eyes. Lucky was licking her face. ''Oh Lucky!'' she giggled, ''Hey! Stop it! That tickles!''. Margo gently moved Lucky aside and sat up, wiping her face. She got up and looked out of the nearby window. ''Oh Lucky'' she said, ''Where are we now?''.
"Baaahh!" Lucky belated. Margo opened the front door anxiously. She gasped! They were in a land of marvellous beauty. With small houses and little flowers. ''What sort of place is this?'' Margo wondered as she looked around.
Margo walked down the broken steps and stared at the civilization. She even spotted a road made of yellow brick. ''What kind or road is that?'' Margo wanted to know, but she had no one to ask. Only Lucky can reply to her with a bleat. ''Come on Lucky!'' Margo sighed, ''let's see if we can find out how to get ourselves and the house back home''.
Suddenly, a crowd of small people approached from their houses. They were dressed in different colours. They ran up to Margo. ''Um hello'' said Margo nervously. The mayor of the small people walked up to her. He wore a very tall, green top hat.
''Welcome to Munchkin Land!" he called out. ''Munch what land?'' Margo asked. "Muchkin Land," said the mayor. "To me, I thought we were goners until you showed up''.
''What do you mean you thought you were goners?'' Margo asked in surprise. "The Wicked Witch of the East turned us into slaves," the mayor answered. "But you've killed her. Look!". Now Margo was confused, ''But I didn't kill anyone, I just crash landed here by accident and I want to go home''.
"Oh, but you have," the mayor said, still pointing the house. ''Yeah I live in that house'' Margo said, ''Do you know how I can get the house and myself back home?''. The mayor was pointing to a pair two legs sticking out of from underneath of the house. ''Whoops'' Margo said, ''I couldn't see her and I had no control of landing the house''.
