Don't need to read it back, I just had to correct some things, nothing important.
Ch 3: The party
Aang woke up with a soft thing moving around his chest, he, in the beginning, thought it was some kind of insect, though he was wrong, and he discovered it when opened his eyes. It was Katara, completely naked, drawing some kind of Ss in his chest. He was surprised at first, why would Katara be naked at his side? Then he noticed that HE was naked, the sign that something had happened that night, he closed his eyes and tried to remember for a minute, and something did come. The best night he ever had, a smile grew in his face while he opened his eyes but, instead of seeing the roof, the thing he was facing, he saw the two sapphires that he fell in love with alongside an as beautiful smile. "Good morning." She said sweetly, kissing him. "Slept well?"
"Nope." He chuckled, making her do the same.
"Yeah, me neither." She said before kissing him again and getting up to catch her karpa, leaping a little. She went to the pocket to take something, Aang didn't know what, nor cared really, right now he was admiring his fiancé's curvy body. When she finally had the thing she threw the piece of cloth to the ground but stopped there, looking at her hand.
"What's that?" Aang asked curiously though was surprised by her answer… or rather the way she answered.
"The necklace you gave me." Sadness was clear in her voice.
"What about it? You want me to put it?" This made her sigh and nod before turning around and going at him, she gave it to his hand and sit giving him her back.
Silence reigned for the next few seconds, until. "What are you going to do with your mother's?" Aang asked, with his tongue out to better concentrate on the choker.
She sighed and looked at it on her cupboard, near the comb. "I'm not sure, I don't even know if I'm ready to let it go."
Hearing this, Aang stopped his hands and looked at the back of her head worried. "You know if you want, you can wear your mother's instead of mine. I would understand."
She sighed again and shook her head. "No. We will marry and this necklace is the symbol of our bond, I have to and I will wear it proudly."
"Talking like that sounds that you're being forced to marry me."
"Then I'm sorry, it's not what I want to sound like. I love you and I'm very happy that we'll marry, it's just… It's going to be hard to leave the only thing I have left from my mother just like that." She sighed again. "But again, she wouldn't want me to choose it over my betrothal necklace."
Aang, listening to this, dropped the choker on her neck and pulled her cheek so that she would face him. "This isn't about what she would want, it's about what you want. So what do you want?"
"I… I don't know what I want." She said sadly.
"Then you'll do like this, you'll wear your mother's necklace and on the wedding day or when you're ready, you change to this one." He proposed with a sweet smile.
"Really? You would do that for me?" He simply chuckled and nodded but she got worse. "No, I can't do that. I HAVE to wear the necklace you gave me. It's tradition and it's the way to show the world that I'm yours."
"Look Katara, the choice is yours. But please, don't do something you don't want to." He pleaded, making her thought for a whole minute. Her mind and eyes wandering through her mother's necklace, her new necklace and sometimes her fiancé. She knew exactly what to do right now and part of her wanted it, but the other part was more reluctant with the idea of a new necklace permanently. But well, sometimes you have to make some sacrifices to reach greater goods, and if is that she has to make to show the world this big honor she will do it then. I mean, it doesn't mean that she would have to destroy her mother's necklace or even stop to wear it at all, maybe she could wear it one day or another, Aang wouldn't mind… probably. So, with that in mind, she nodded "Go ahead and put this one, I'll display my mother's… It is what she would want."
Hearing this, Aang sighed. "Katara this isn't about…"
"I know Aang, but is what I want too." Aang was a little reluctant but in the end, he did what her fiancé asked. When finished, he kissed her cheek, though she, deciding that a mere cheek kiss wasn't enough, turned around and kissed him deeply on the lips, slowly making her way to be on top of him. "You know?" She purred, smirking just like last night. "We still have time for a quick one if you want to go again."
He chuckled and pecked her lips. "I would love too." He was about to kiss her deeply once again but, in that moment the front door of her iglu opened and a female voice could be heard. "Katara! Wakey wakey birthday girl! Today's gonna be a big day!" Soon enough steps started to be heard coming at the bedroom's door. The couple, with a quick glimpse at each other, rapidly got out of the bed and started to dress themselves.
The moment Katara felt Suki's hand on the wooden door she shouted. "SUKI! DON'T ENTER!"
"What? Why?" They heard a, clearly, confused woman.
"Just don't enter Spiritsdammit!"
"Katara, if that's a way of bailing out then…"
"Dammit Suki! I'm naked, okay!? Just don't enter, I'll be there in five minutes!" She yelled, dressing her parkas.
They heard a sigh and then "Why would you... Okay then. Five minutes." And so it was, five minutes later the door was heard closing, making the red-haired girl turned around to face her best friend though, what she found was much better. "Hello Kat… Aang?! When did you…" Aang was about to respond but something began to bug Suki's mind, something that had to be expressed right now. "Wait… Katara, that's not your mother's… YOU ACCEPTED!? of course, you did. But I'm so happy for you!" she shouted hugging both friends.
Katara, when the friend took a step back, asked confused. ""You accepted"? What do you mean by "You accepted"? You already knew?" Suki, by response, looked at Aang with apologetic eyes who simply smiled and nodded before answering for himself.
"Yeah, she knows. She, your father and Toph."
"Why?"
"I needed a good cover while I was out and… well, Suki was my only idea, I had to ask your hand to your father and Toph found out when I was about to depart, you know what happens if you try and lie to her, principally if you're me." He laughed.
"So you knew about his idea from the very beginning?" Suki nodded with a smile, but she wasn't expecting the next thing. "And you didn't tell me!? I was dying there and you waited all this time just for a surprise!?"
"Katara he asked me for a cover and I did one."
"You could create one that didn't give me a suicidal wish!"
"What?"
"What?"
"I mean," Katara corrected immediately. "um… you simply could create a better cover, that's all."
"Suki," This time Aang, genuinely worried. "what was the cover you made?"
"I said that you had to go to Kyoshi Island as planned, and when things got tight I said that it was a lie and that you were going to get the perfect gift for her."
"So why did you have sui… those kinds of thoughts?"
"Well I - I thought that… that's not important." She finally said, trying to hide her shame. "What really matters is that you're here and you really gave me the perfect gift."
"No I haven't."
"What do you mean you didn't?" Both Suki and Katara asked. "You asked me for marriage, isn't that the gift you planned?"
"What? No, of course not. I wasn't sure if you were even ready for marriage, or if you liked me that much. Imagine that what I really had planned to give you was asking you in marriage and you denied, then I wouldn't have a gift. Plus, that would be extremely selfish. I mean, "The gift you'll get is the honor to marry me.". No, not my style."
"Okay then. So why was the box empty?" She asked what made him smirk.
"Cuz I really wasn't sure if you would open it before the party or not. Better be sure than sorry, you know."
"So where is the gift you'll give?"
"Ha! And you want to know so soon? Nah-nah, you'll open it alongside the others in the end of the party."
"Speaking of which." Suki smiled, earning the attention of her friends. "We have a party waiting for you, you know?"
"Two actually." Katara said, making Aang sigh sadly and Suki furrowed a brow in curiosity.
"We speak about that later." Aang said when noticed the friend's face. "Now, take us to everyone else."
Suki nodded. "Yes, they'll like to hear the news too. Oh, and Zuko's here with a friend, just so you don't get all surprised when you see them."
"Cool." They all got out of the iglu to find already everyone at the door, Zuko, Jin, Sokka, Toph, Hakoda, Kanna and Paku, everyone was waiting for Katara. "Hey there Kat… Aang?... Aang!" Soon enough everyone was around him but Zuko and Jin, who faded away the moment the young Avatar got out, making her friend stay and help her. The things went for at least one minute until Katara placed herself between them and, with a giant smile, said.
"Oah, calm down now. You're suffocating my fiancé here. I still need him, you know?"
At that moment a couple of people gasped and others just smiled. "You're - you're fiancé?" Sokka, with his brand new beard, managed to muster.
"Yup." She said touching her new necklace's pendant "He asked me tonight and well… I accepted." Silence ruled the place for some moments and Kanna took advantage of it to hug her grand-daughter who hugged her back.
"I'm so proud of you." The old woman said. "My little Snowflake is growing up and is going to give me many great-grand-childs and…"
"Hey there Gran-gran." Katara laughed, nervous. "It's a little too soon for that." This made her grandmother laugh and push her away to see the younger woman's face.
"Destiny is a funny thing, darling. Sometimes it can get you by surprise." Katara became surprised and confused by the old woman's sudden comment.
"What do you mea…"
"Well there folks." Toph's voice was heard. "We are all happy, and we sure have a lot of questions but right now is party time. Then lest start this shit up, shall we?" Practically everyone yelled in approval there announcing the beginning of their party. They all walked to the center of the little town to discover an ice bar with a man dressed in green serving drinks and food to various people and an ice stage with a group of four men and women on it playing a slow music and a small crowd watching and dancing between some big tables with various kinds of food on them. As soon as one of the man in the stage saw Katara he stopped playing and told to his colleagues to do the same. The crowd by its turn, as if it was cue (that probably was), stopped dancing and all looked at Katara waiting for something. It was full of people from various nations, there were some men and women dressed in green, others in red and there also people dressed in blue, but they clearly were from the other side of the world, and honestly, Katara knew why so many people were there, it was so obvious that it gave a little pity for them, some of them, mostly men, were with that hopeful shine in the eyes that told her everything she needed to know… But well, life has to go on, and soon enough she has to tell everything. She didn't say anything, actually she became paralyzed, her cheeks practically burning. "I swear Suki, I'm gonna kill you after this." She thought for herself before raising a hand awkwardly. "Um… Hello… uh… Katara here." When she said that the crowd erupted to cheers before continuing with their things. Saying that Katara was confused was a huge understatement, yes she had helped Suki with some things for the party but the majority was simply "do this" or"make that" things, Katara never had a single clue of what was this all about, Suki never let her. Her train of thoughts was destroyed when she felt a big, shaking hand on her shoulder. When she turned to see who was the owner she saw her boyfrie… I mean fiancé laughing like crazy. "What's so funny?" She asked crossing her arms, clearly he was laughing about her.
A few seconds later of him composing himself he finally responded. "It's nothing My Angel, it's just -haha- you had to… to copy Zuko -haha- it was priceless." And he started to laugh again and soon enough she was laughing also.
"I completely forgot about that." She laughed while the burned monarch came at her.
"Katara I hate you." He said blushing furiously. "You just can't forget about that?"
All she managed to do was put a hand on his shoulder and apologize between laughs. "I'm-I'm sorry Zuko. It wasn't on purpose."
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah of course it…"
"What does that have to be with Zuko?" A feminine voice was heard, when they turned to see who it was they saw Jin who immediately remembered that she was speaking to THE Avatar and lowered her head. "I-if you permit m-me a-asking, of course."
Zuko again rolled his eyes and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Jin we've been through this already. Aang's a cool guy, you don't need to be like this."
"It's easy for you to say" She whispered to him, hoping that the airbender wouldn't hear, of course, in vain. "you're the freaking Fire Lord."
"That doesn't matter, Jin." Said Aang, making her squeak in embarrassment. "If that mattered I would never ask Katara in marriage."
"Why not?" Katara asked confused.
"Cuz you don't have any title… I mean, not like Zuko has."
"For your information, I have." She said in a matter of fact way. "My father is the chief, so I'm kinda of a princess, for all that matters."
"Okay, but that doesn't matter. Look Jin," The girl tried her best not to look to his eyes. "I may be the Avatar, but most of all I'm Aang. And I want you to treat me like that, like a normal guy you just met, not the "all powerful bender" they say I am."
The girl chuckled and wasn't capable of holding the joke. "Spirits, SO humble." In that moment she slammed her hands on her mouth and looked to his eyes to see any trace of anger but all she could see was kindness and happiness while he laughed.
"Hey, I never asked them to call me that, I'm just stating facts." He laughed a little more before grabbing her shoulder. "Now really Jin, please treat me like a new friend you made."
"You don't know what you're asking for." Zuko chuckled, making her look at him and cross her arms.
"And what does that mean?"
"Oh, nothing." He said before getting away to eat something.
"Now really, I have no idea of what he meant with that." Jin said to her new friends who just laughed. "So, again, what's the relationship with what Katara said and Zuko?" Katara and Aang looked at each other with a giant grin knowing that the perfect opportunity to annoy Zuko even more has come.
…
Some time passed of Aang and Katara telling some of their adventures to Jin who, or would be laughing her lungs out or listening closely to all the interesting details. Of course, she knew the story, everyone knew, Avatar Aang was saved by Katara and her brother from an iceberg, and they traveled around the world to save it and to train the young Avatar in all four elements. They met Toph along the way who joined the group, Zuko joined a few months later, and then they defeated the Fire Lord and saved the world. That is the story everyone knows but to learn everything, every little detail from the people who were living the adventures, it was… amazing, simply amazing. For example Aang died, he literally died and Katara had to bring him back from the dead, how amazing is that? No wonder they were so in love, he would be dead if she wasn't there. Though, everything good has an end and this one was coming soon. As the day passed music was being played by a local, new band but when a specific music started to play, Katara had to dance it so, apologizing to Jin, she grabbed the fiancé's arm and took him to the center of the crowd. "Katara?"
"Hmm?"
"What are you doing?"
They had finally arrived to her destination so with a twirl she looked at his eyes and made a serious face. "Dance with me Aang, please."
"What?" It wasn't the request in question that bugged but the way she asked, it was… strange but familiar in a sort of way, just like this music, Aang had heard this fast music somewhere… but where? Katara seeing that he didn't get it yet, said the next line.
"I don't care, I just want to dance with you, My Angel… please." And he finally got what it was. She never had called him "My Angel" it has always been HIS pet name for HER, so she was clearly saying something that he once said… the question was, when? When did he ask her to dance with so much oppressed anger? "Of course!" He face-palmed himself mentally and simply nodded. She clearly couldn't hold anymore, so she freed her giant smile and moved away to stretch her arm to him who did the same, soon enough they were circling each other. A woman on the stage saw this, stopped playing and said something to her colleges, a moment later they were playing the same music from the beginning. As the couple continued their dance the rest of the crowd stopped dancing and started to watch the Avatar and his "friend" which, by the way, started to get a little uncombable with all the eyes on her. She sighed.
"What's up?" Aang whispered worried.
"It's just… everyone is watching us. It's never… I don't know."
Hearing this he smiled sweetly. "Look at my eyes." She sighed and did. "What do you see?"
She chuckled and smirked. "My future husband's amazing eyes?"
"Beyond that."
"Um…" She thought for a second before answering unsure. "My reflex?"
"Exactly. You know what it means?"
"That is just you and me." She smiled as his grin grown more and while he winked at her. Soon enough the pace of the music rose, and they started to dance for real. The same exactly dance they made a year back and, just like before, the crowd was amazed by the agility and sync of the couple. Shortly after the kicks and jumps had ended and Aang pulled his love's arm making her fall on it there announcing the end of the dance. The crowd erupted into cheers what made Katara wake up from their little world and then it happened what she was expecting, Aang pushed her for a deep kiss, but, this time, she fought against it and stood up by herself. She turned to the crowd and took the, now, confused airbender's hand. "Please I'd like to have a moment of your silence… please!" The cheers started to fade and she continued. "Thank you… As you know, we're all here to celebrate my sixteenth birthday. Today I turned into marrying age and I would be available for marrying proposals… and yes, I said "would", I'm not anymore. "The crowd started to stir up with various angry, sad or confused whispers. "I have been asked by my boyfriend and I accepted." At that moment some in the crowd were already shouting with the discontentment, there were the ones just asking who was the lucky man, there was one who just gave up and started to walk away with a lowered head and even those who were yelling that they would challenge the bastard who had the balls to ask her in marriage. While that, the bastard in question was just hearing to all that with his arms crossed. "Please - please calm down - calm down." Katara requested after a little and when they finally replied with what was requested she continued. "I know that some of you are discontent and that probably had expectations, and…"
"Just tell us who the bastard is!" One Fire Nation man yelled, there earning the Avatar's opinion.
"You shut up and let her finish!" The man just shrank a little and let the woman continue.
"Thank you Aang." He just nodded. "Like I was saying I know that some of you had expectations but I assure you my heart already belongs to him for a year and a half and I would probably deny everything you could propose. So, sir, you asked who the man is, well… you're looking at him. Aang… would you… umm…" Everyone gasped and some women made some "aww" with no shame at all and others looked at her with a fire of hate and disgust burning in the eyes, which, honestly, annoyed Katara a little but, like many things in that life she hid that feeling.
"You-You're going to marry the Avatar?!" The same Fire Nation man asked.
"Yup, I'm the bastard you're looking for."
"M-My apologies Avatar Aang, I d-din…"
"Yeah, yeah, you didn't know it was me. I get that a lot. But that doesn't matter." Now to everyone. "Look, I am going to marry Katara, the woman I love. But I heard your discontent cries and, hell, I'm the Avatar, I am a man of the people, so to everyone who still wants to challenge me for her hand, I'm here for you, ready and willing to fight with anyone who thinks is better for her than her own choice…" No one said nothing they limited in shrinking. "Perfect, now if you would excuse us." Aang simply took Katara's hand and guided her out of the crowd and, hell, it was huge relief when they arrived at her iglu, and he closed the door, Aang as soon the door closed released her hand and buffed. "Ugh… can you believe this guy?!"
"I know, right."
"Such a coward!"
"Yeah."
"And so rude, I mean even after saying that you were proposed by your boyfriend he… ugh!"
"I know, right. And you saw the face of those girls, they all wanted to rip my head off right there. I don't know if this a good idea."
Aang, hearing this, went her and hugged her. "Don't say that. This was a great idea, at least you're "breaking their hearts" of all of them now and not one by one, that would mess up with you too. And don't worry 'bout those girls, I'm here to protect you." On this last part he had a little smirk on his face.
She smiled for a second before moving away to see his eyes, she then made her lost puppy eyes and said sarcastically. "Yes because I need a big, strong man to protect me."
"I don't know about a big strong man, but you need ME to protect you." He laughed. "Just as much as I need you to protect me."
"Aww, that's so cheesy."
"You know me." He winked making her laugh, soon enough he was laughing with her. That until something inside Aang lit once again. So, with great speed, he pushed her hips together with his even more "You know? We have time now, if your offer of morning is still up."
She laughed. "I would love to, but not now. We're in the middle of a party, MY party."
"But that's the perfect timing then, everyone is busy with dancing and mingling to even notice us."
"No." She wanted to seam rigid but the big smile on her face ruined the image completely. "We have a party and it would be extremely disrespectful to not be there, principally to all the gentlemen and ladies that came all the way from the other side of the world just to see and talk to us."
"Honey," Aang started raising a brow and releasing her. "they came here to ask you in marriage, what really confuses me. I mean, how did they know you were doing sixteen?"
"That's my fathers work. He had to send some letters to some nobles a month back. It's because I'm the daughter of the chief, it's tradition, you know?"
Aang shrugged. "You still chose me, I think I can live with that."
"Wait, I chose you? No, YOU chose me. It was you who asked me." She chuckled.
"Katara, you could simply say no. So yeah, you chose me." He said with a giant smile.
"And you could simply not ask, that means that you chose me." She was also smiling.
"No My Angel, since the beginning you had chosen me, I did so many crap and you still love me, you had and have the choice of leaving whenever you want and you don't. Who's choosing who now, uh?"
"You. You could have whatever woman you wanted, and you decided that I was the one for you. Don't know 'bout you, but that seams like a guy choosing a girl to be with."
"Okay then," he laughed" lets just finish in I chose you and you chose me, okay?"
"Fine by me." She agreed before walking to the door, although, to her surprise, Aang was faster and opened her, the door.
"M'lady."
"Oh thank you, Sir Aang, such a gentleman." She thanked, trying to hold her laughter.
"Oh, that's nothing, every man would be the biggest near a beautiful lady like yourself, Lady Katara." With that it was impossible, she had to laugh.
"You always have a flirt idea up the sleeve, don't you?"
"You know me, darlin'." He smiled while she got out with him following.
"Ah, now it's darling? What happened to the My Angel?"
"What? Now I can't call you darling, only My Angel?"
"Yeah, of course you can, it's just a little strange to hear another nickname but My Angel..."
"Hey, Sugar-Queen!"
"... And Sugar-Queen. What's up Toph?" She turned to her friend who was walking at her fast.
"You know what time it is!?" She almost shouted.
"Um - I don't know, four?"
"NO! Actually it's five and half. But that's not important you dumb fuck! It's fuckin' cake time! And you're fucking going to eat the fucking cake right fucking now or I'll fucking gut you!" She yelled with a finger up to Katara's nose. Katara didn't know if should be scared or surprised with the sudden burst even with the obvious answer in the front of her nose (not literally), none, this was a normal thing about living with Toph, she has this necessity of being a little bigger than anyone else, that plus her way of showing affection and you have this, a totally crazy and fake outburst, and just like any other time this happened, Toph chuckled a few moments later and continued completely calm. "Now really, Sokka already asked me like five times to find you. Please just end my torture and go eat the freaking cake."
"Um… okay, we're coming."
Toph smirked. "Hehe, I know." She said before turning around and starting to walk to the town center once again, here leaving a, now, practically red couple. In the core, really, really deep, they knew the meaning of this even if they never heard that expression ever.
"Do you think she…?" Aang managed to muster.
"I - I don't know, I…" They stood there blushing and thinking for a moment until… "Shit!" They said in unison looking at each other. "Sokka!" Saying this, they started to run to the town center. There arriving they found Sokka a totally different view. The stage was still there and there was also the band playing but, where before was a crowd dancing to the sound of the wonderful music there was now multiple big tables with much, much fewer people than before. But one of that persons caught the couple's attention above anything else. That person was Sokka, who was looking at them with a disappointment that mere words could't describe, and when he started to walk at them, their hearts stopped, and they braced themselves to the incoming fight but well… lest's just say that the destiny's a funny thing.
"So… what do have you to say?" He asked the lowed headed couple.
"I'm sorry Sokka, we… we didn't." She started.
"No, stop, I don't want to hear excuses." Sokka said putting a hand over his tired eyes. "I'm already disappointed enough, lets just eat the freaking cake." They both nodded their head and turned around and started to the middle table mumbling something about. "They had on job, one job." and "How could they do this to me?" When they reached the tables Aang and Katara sit near Sokka who climbed to the top of the table and started talking before a sigh and a grunt. "Please, could you give your silence for a moment, please." The quiet talking of the guests started to fade to whispers and, soon enough no one was talking. "Thank you. First, I'd like to start to thank you all by your presence and wish you a good evening. Now, as you know, even because she already spoke, we are here today to celebrate my sister Katara's sixteenth birthday, today she reached full maturity and would be accepting marrying propositions, blah blah blah, you all know that, and I'm not even sure why do I have to say it again." Everyone chuckled and he continued. "But well, what I really have to say is that we spared the full week on preparing this party, and we hope that you like the feast we made. Please, Katara, cut the cake." Sighing this he sat back down and handed a knife to his sister who looked at it for a second before cutting the white and blue big cake the second the slice was separated from the whole itself everyone cheered and applauded while Katara simply shrugged and ate the piece of cake. Soon enough, everyone was taking a piece and eating it, the music continued and everyone seamed to be enjoying themselves for the rest of the day. Sokka and and Suki had disappeared for some minutes before walking back to the table laughing to each other. When Katara reluctantly asked why they did that, they simply said "surprise". And so it was, the day passed and the sun started to set while a half-full Yue took its place, the people started to go their houses and the Gaang wasn't different, they all went to Katara and Aang's house to party a little more but as soon as she entered, something was wrong, the place had a giant wooden box there and a smaller one, but still big, near it. Sokka and Suki immediately jumped in front of Katara and shouted in unison "SURPRISE!".
"Surprise?" She asked confused. "What surprise? The two giant boxes? Oh, thank you, more trash for me to clean, very thankful!"
"Uhh, no." Said Suki placing a hand on the bigger box. "These are your gifts. This is the guests gifts and…"
"... and these are our gifts." Finished Sokka with a giant smile. "And you're going…"
"I'm definitely not opening all of this today."
"Yeah, of course not." Said Sokka as if what she said was the most obvious thing in the world. "Did you saw the size of this thing? You would need all night for that, you'll only open our gifts."
"Not even those. I'll open ONE present today, and that's because I've been dying to know what it is… Aang, would you?" He smiled and got out of the house leaving an open mouthed Sokka there, looking at his sister incredibly.
"But… but…" He started only receiving an open hand stopping him.
"No buts, I'll open Aang's present and that's all. I thank you all for the kindness of buying me something, but I still have things to do today and if I open all your gifts I don't have more time for anything else." At that moment Aang arrived with a "small" box and handed it to his fiancé blushing a little.
"It's just a little thing but there you have." He said while she opened the box and gasped, she waited a moment before taking a beautiful dress. Dark blue with some ornaments of black gold, she had seen this specific dress in a store of Ba Sing Se two months ago, she was about to buy it… until she saw the price, damn saying that was a high price was a huge, and I mean HUGE, understatement, so she had only bitten her lips and continued their way… And yes I said "they". Aang was with her to help her carry the bags, and probably saw the shine in her eyes when she saw that dress because… well he had bought it for her.
"Aang, it's beautiful but… why did you buy it? It…" She started amazed.
"Yes I know, it was expensive, but… well I'm the Avatar, Katara. I can find a way… but that's not all. I've been thinking about the talk we had yesterday and I'm planning on doing another trip around the world before our wedding." He said with a grin only making Katara look at him with a smile and with her eyes shining even more.
"Cool!" A masculine, excited voice said. "Captain Boomerang is going to see his fans again!"
"Actually Sokka, no… My idea is to do this trip with Katara only." Her eyes just got brighter, and he knew she was on the verge right now.
"YEA… what? Why?" Sokka whined with a pout and puppy face.
"Because…" This time he was interrupted by the tasty lips of his angel what just caused an annoyed grunt from her brother, a grunt that was simply ignored.
A moment later she disbanded the kiss and just said as sweetly as she could. "Thank you."
Aang smiled. "Everything for My Angel…" They both stared to the deepest part of their eye for a second without even moving, why would they? They were perfectly fine like that, lost in both the restless oceans that her eyes were and the stormy clouds of his eyes, lost in a world without problems nor complications, a perfect world that… well… that was destroyed by no one else than, of course, her stupid brother.
"For the love of The Spirits Katara. Get a fucking room… you know what? Forget what I said, don't get a room, I'm afraid of what that will end up."
Katara grunted and gave him a nasty face that made his spine shiver. "Look Sokka, I'm on my own fucking house, so I can do what the hell I want to do with my boyf… my fiancé. If you don't like you know where the door is… but anyway, you can stay here a little longer."She said now to all her friends. "Me and Aang are going out." Saying this, she grabbed Aang's hand and walked at the door and just stopped when she heard the expected question from the expected person.
"Where are you going?" Sokka asked, making her smile and look at him.
"Penguin Sledding!"
