Yes, I know, this is a complete story. It's just sometimes I get really good idea's for add-ons sometimes. Hope you enjoy!
Henry lay dead in Charles' arms again, like the first time. Both of them soaked in blood, being slightly diluted by Charles' stream of tears.
It's your fault.
You're the reason he's dead.
You could've saved him.
You idiot. You should've known you didn't kill her!
I'm sure he's disappointed in you.
"AH!" Charles gasped, and started heavily panting, the looked around. There was a light ticking from his clock. His painting was still heavy, but it slowed. His dark room his coated in a silver-gray light from the moon. "That dream again..." Charles laid back down, blinking a few times as a light mist surrounded his face from evaporated tears. "You're never going to get over it, are you? Charles, just cut your losses! It's been almost three years!" He talked to himself. Stop talking to yourself! Charles scolded himself in thought. Why am I like this..?
Charles looked outside his window, the sky was just starting to break light. He wanted to talk to Ellie, a friend he made almost a year ago. He grabbed his phone and flinched at the light as it flashed on. He sent Ellie a message;
"Are you awake?"
It took a moment for her to respond.
"I wasn't, but now I am."
Charles immediately felt guilty.
"Oh, it's okay then. I'm sorry for waking you up. You can go back to sleep."
He placed his phone down, and tried to get his thoughts straight, when he heard a response from Ellie.
"No, you messaged me because something was wrong. You're never awake this early."
Charles hesitated. He didn't know how to respond to the message.
"Charles?"
Ellie sent. Charles jumped a little in startlement ment and sent a reply.
"Sorry. I'm thinking."
Charles looked at his window again, still hearing the light ticking sound from his clock.
"Do you want me to come over there?"
Ellie sent a message. Charles was a bit shocked at first.
"Yes."
Charles answered.
Charles stood and left his room. No matter how long it had been since the incident, it still felt empty without Henry, even though Henry was always quiet. Henry had done so much for the government, and it was too bad that it had to end the way it did. Charles hugged tightly onto the red blanket he was holding.
It took a few minutes, but he heard a soft thumping at his door. It was most likely Ellie. Charles opened the door, and it was Ellie.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" Ellie asked. "Well.. Did I ever tell you... about the incident?" Charles began. Ellie shook her head. "Okay, I'll tell you... I had another friend, before you, and his name was Henry-"
"Stickmin, right?" Ellie asked. Charles nodded. "Oh, I think he was locked up at The Wall the me. I didn't get to meet him though." She admit. "Oh, you should've gotten to meet him. He was the sweetest person ever." Charles slowly blinked. "Wasn't he a criminal?" Ellie questioned. "Yes... Yes he was, but he changed since he took down the toppat airship." Charles just barely cracked a smile. "That mission was really fun... One of the most fun missions I've ever done. Anyways..."
"So, some of the remaining toppats we didn't find rebuilt the airship... And it was up to me and Henry to take them down again... My helicopter was almost shot down, so I had to bail... Henry caught me and pulled me onto the airship..." Charles continued. "Uh-huh..." Ellie said understandingly. "I killed their new leader, or atleast, I thought I did, at first..." Charles went on, and Ellie nodded, being understanding. "She-"
"..."
Charles was silent.
"She did what?.." Ellie asked. "Henry... She shot him... In the chest..." Charles choked on the words. "Oh... yikes!" Ellie commented. "Yeah... There was blood everywhere, I couldn't do anything..." Charles started to tear up again. "And the medic told me there was nothing she could do... All I could do was watch him struggle until he died... In my arms..." Charles' voice faded out. "Oh my god..." Ellie commented. "Charles, thats terrible! I'm sorry, I had no clue!"
"You don't need to be sorry! It's my fault! I could've prevented it!" Charles shook his head, letting some tears leave his eyes. Ellie's eyes widened. "Charles..." She began sympathetically. "don't be so hard on yourself! I'm sure it's not your fault!"
"But it is!"
Ellie sighed. "No, it's not. If you thought the leader was dead and she wasn't, that isn't your fault. Calm down, please..." She tried to comfort. Charles took a shaky deep breath. "..."
"It's okay, Charles. We can talk whenever you want." Ellie nodded. Charles looked at her. Charles hugged his friend. "Th-Thank you... Ellie..."
"No problem, Charles. I'm here for you."
