I don't even know how this idea came to my mind, I have to admit that it has taken me a while to write because I struggle writing happy topics.Strange I know hehe.I really hope you enjoy this little one shot!
Sheldon woke up with the sound of the alarm. He opened and closed his eyes several times to get used to the light of the day.
He kissed Amy on the cheek.
"Good morning Amy!"-He told her.
Amy's eyes remained closed, but she turned to Sheldon's side.
"Morning"-She said with a very sleepy voice.-"What are you doing awake so early? It's not even 7 a.m. go back to sleep."
"I'm going to prepare our daughter's birthday party Amy, today it's her birthday remember?"-He said smiling.
Amy opened her eyes.
"I'll go wish her a happy birthday and get her ready."-Sheldon said.-"So you can relax a bit longer."-He said.
"I've slept enough. I'll help you, do you want me to make breakfast? Then we can start preparing the party."-Amy told him.-"And I also want to wish her a happy birthday."
They both got up and walked to their daughter's room.
It was decorated with planets and stars. Of course, Raj did it. But there was also a part of the room decorated with flags from all over the world.
She was already awake.
"Happy birthday little one!"-Sheldon said, and took her out of the crib.
"Thans Dada!"-Sophie said. She was one year old, she didn't know how to speak well.
"Happy birthday Sophie!"-Amy said, and kissed her daughter on the cheek.
"Thans Mama!"-The little girl screamed.
Amy went to make breakfast while Sheldon took care of Sophie.
"Are you ready for your day? You are one year old now, that's a lot, you know?"-Sheldon told the baby while moving her in his arms.
"Ye! I now dad!"-Sophie smiled.
Sheldon loved having her in his arms.
"You know that your birthday is also the day the Nobel prize is given?"-Sheldon told her.
"Realy?"
"Yeah, cool I know, you are so lucky. My birthday date it's not that good. It's the 26th of February. Boring day..."-Sheldon sighed.-"But your day is much better! And mum and I are going to give you a party, eventhough you are little, you'll enjoy it, I'm sure. Now let's get you ready."
After changing and dressing up Sophie, they went downstairs.
"Is breakfast ready?"-Sheldon asked.
Amy nodded.
Sheldon settled Sophie in the high chair.
"What should we do first?"-Amy asked Sheldon.
"I thought about calling Leonard and Penny, I think they'll gladly help to take care of their niece."-Sheldon replied.
"Good idea, but they are probably still asleep now."-Amy said.
"Yeah, they always wake up late, but I'm sure they'll want to come."-Sheldon stated.
Amy's phone rang.
"Hi!"-Penny's voice said on the other side.-"We wanted to wish an amazing birthday to little Sophie!"-She said.
"She's not little anymore Penny, she's one year old."-Sheldon corrected.
"She's still little, but can we talk to the birthday girl?"-Penny asked.
"Yeah."-Amy said, and gave Sophie the phone.
"Happy Birthday sweetie!"-Penny told her.
"Thans aunti Penny!"-Sophie laughed.
"Your welcome Sophie."-Penny said.
Amy got her phone back.
"Penny, would you guys mind coming here a bit earlier to prepare Sophie's party?"-She said. And lowered her voice so only Penny would hear her.-"I don't feel really well today... So I'd be very grateful if you came."
"Count on us! We'll be there in an hour if Liam wakes up."-Penny said.-"He gave us a hard night, I'll tell you about it when we arrive. See you later!"
"Bye Bestie!"-Amy said.
"Bye!"
Amy hung up.
"They'll be here if Liam wakes up."-Amy said.
"Amy, you told Penny you aren't feeling well, what happens?"-Sheldon asked Amy.
I hate his vulcan hearing.-Amy thought.
"Well... I've been feeling dizzy lately, and I've thrown up at work a few times. I didn't want to worry you. That's why I haven't told you."-Amy stared at the floor.
"You can tell me this Amy. And I'm going to help you. Do you feel like throwing up now?"-Sheldon asked rubbing Amy's back.
"Not now. I just have a bad headache."
Sheldon nodded. "Well, that means you need to rest."-Sheldon told her.
"It's our daughters birthday I'll be fine. Promise."-Amy said. Two seconds later a wave of sickness hit her, she ran to the bathroom to throw up.
"Amy!"-Sheldon screamed. And ran to catch her. He found her throwing up on the bathroom.-"Amy...Are you ok?"-He asked.-"You just said you felt ok!"
"I did, I just had this urge to throw up-"-Amy stopped herself. She got up and stared at Sheldon's eyes.-"I remember last time I felt like this"
"You don't have eidetic memory, was it a long time ago?"-Sheldon asked.
"No... It was a year and almost eight months ago... When... I was pregnant with Sophie."-Amy muttered.-"Should I take the test?"-Amy asked.
It was too early, what if she was indeed pregnant? Sophie was just one! Amy started to freak out.
"Yeah, do it. Would you... like me to stay with you?"
"No, don't worry, I got this, go take care of Sophie, I don't want her to be alone this long."-Amy begged Sheldon.
He did what she asked and left.
He went back to the kitchen and looked at Sophie. She hadn't moved since they left, and ut was five minutes ago. He approached the little girl and asked her a question.
"Would you like to have a little brother or a sister to play with? I warn you, they are a bit annoying. I had two, you've met them, when we went to Texas remember? You probably don't, but yes, you've met them, you liked being with them. But you are still very little. What if you don't like having someone else? What if the next one doesn't like you?"-Sheldon asked.
"Well, if that happens, have in mind that I'll always be here by your side. Forever."-Sheldon told Sophie. She smiled.
"I kno!"-Sophie said. Each time she spoke, Sheldon's heart melted.
Hearing that sweet little voice. He picked the little girl up, and settled her in the couch.
"Do you want to play some games? Or maybe, we could talk about science. Mum doesn't usually let me talk to you about science, but she is doing something now. So I can tell you my latest research huh?"- Sheldon smiled as the little girl laughed.
"Maybe you'd prefer hearing about super assimetry, but mum surely has already told you that, hasn't she?"-Sheldon shrugged.-"What do you want to do little one?"
Amy arrived, and saw Sheldon playing with Sophie immediately, she knew that they'd be able to raise this one too. Sophie will have a little brother or sister to play with, and that'd be amazing. Amy grew up alone, and she didn't like it.
But this wouldn't happen this time. They were the dream team, and they'll have a new member in less than nine months. Amy smiled. She loved this family.
