[Thank you all so much for the support! The reviews and messages certainly help with writing this but I have a question: Do any of you ship Ariel with anyone yet? Let me know!]
"Are you all aware of the plan?" Ariel asks as she peeks her head around the corner to eye the now closed bar.
"Grab the girl but stay the fuck out of the way, we got it." Dean grumbles and she smiles brightly, clapping a hand on his arm, "Good job! You can follow instructions." Not wanting another replay of last night, he just nods without saying a word.
"Good boy," She ruffles his hair and Sam stifles a snicker before she strides up to the door and the boys follow. Ariel cracks her knuckles before knocking.
Tap…
Tap…
Tappity tap tap….
BAM!
She caps it off with punching the door off of it's hinges, slamming the vampire about to answer the door into the opposite wall. Dean's jaw drops as she storms in, whipping an angel blade out of thin air before lifting the vampire off of the ground,
"Where's the girl?" She snarls, holding the blade to his throat. "D-Downstairs…" He groans and she plunges the blade into his chest before dropping his body and flipping her angel blade into the air, it shines and transforms into a longsword.
Sam nudges Castiel as they watch Ariel take on two vampires single handedly, "Can… Can you change your blade like that?"
He shakes his head, his eyes widening as he watches his sister fight. The way she moves is still fluid like she's dancing. She may look like she's wantonly slicing at them but she's being precise and cutting at parts that will wear the enemy down.
Five vampires later, the four of them make it to the basement door and Ariel kicks the door in, transforming her blade into a battle axe.
"Seriously, Cas, you gotta learn how to do that." Sam murmurs as they follow her down.
"Unfortunately, that's a forgotten ability limited to only archangels. Even Michael and Lucifer don't use it anymore. I assume that she's been using it forever, it really only works with hand to hand weapons, not projectiles."
And Castiel is immediately proven wrong as her weapon shines again, forming a pistol as she fires two shots at approaching vampires, vanishing them immediately.
At the foot of the stairs, the head vampire has a weeping, bloody but still alive Cassandra hostage with his arm around her neck.
"The Winchesters and their pet angel… And who are you, old bitch?" He snarls as he glares at Ariel.
A smile graces her lips as she holds the gun up, "None of your goddamn business."
He shifts Cassandra up higher, "You wouldn't-"
He blinks and he feels cold steel next to his head.
She's vanished from in front of him and the last thing he hears is a click before everything goes black. Ariel catches Cassandra, tapping her head with a spell to knock her out.
"She's alright. Let's get her to a hospital. Sam, Dean, I'll leave that to you." Ariel replies, "I'm going to leave a message for anyone who thinks they want to retaliate."
She hands off the unconscious woman to Sam and they nod, turning to leave.
"Cas… Get the bodies and bring them upstairs."
Close to sundown, the regulars return to the bar and are met with a terrifying scene. All of the bodies were laid out one by one with a message written in blood on the walls.
"LEAVE NOW OR SUFFER."
A promise, not a threat to the vampires and other creatures that prey on humans with an insignia as a signature.
A few days later, Cassandra made a full recovery and was sent home. She thanked the Winchesters and Castiel but she didn't seem to remember that Ariel was there too but they didn't pry.
As soon as they leave Cassandra, Ariel appears, leaning against the Impala, "Good job, gentlemen. Would have been able to do it myself… But I appreciate the backup."
"Haha, look, I'm terrified and oddly attracted to you but no one touches the Impala." Dean growls and she holds her hands up before standing up straight, "Calm down, Dean-o, way to be in tune with your emotions... Look, I'm here now because I did want to chat about the current… Predicament."
"Funny way of talking about the end of the world, but continue." Sam replies as he looks at her.
Ariel sighs as she rubs her neck, "I know that throwing myself into all of this would change things. But I can't. I have my own life here and after that whole bar scene we just did, it's going to make waves among the other creatures that live in this city and there are a ton of them. I'm going to need to keep things in order."
"... We get it." Dean nods, "And it's not your mess to clean up. You've got enough on your plate with Chicago-"
"Actually, the Midwest in general, but yeah." Ariel smiles, "I'll send whatever good vibes and news that I can, but that's as far as I can go."
"Thank you, General." Castiel offers a rare smile before bowing.
"How many times do I have to tell you, just Ariel?" She sighs.
"... At least once more, General." He replies. Ariel smiles as she ruffles his hair, "Don't get killed, okay?"
"I'll do my best." Castiel nods… Dean raises an eyebrow as he watches the two talk and she hands Dean another paper bag, "More sweets! Thought you'd enjoy them. Feel free to come back for more, boys. Or if you ever just need a place to lay your head, I'm here."
They nod and she winks before vanishing before their eyes.
After a moment, Dean glances at Castiel, "So, how long have you been in love with her?"
"... What?!" Castiel shouts, his face turning red, "Th-That's not- She's my superior, Dean!"
"Obviously you held a flame for her in the past and seeing her again may have revived those feelings." Sam raises an eyebrow as he looks at Castiel as well.
The angel sighs as his blush subsides, "... It was a long time ago. Even if I do feel that way… We have more important things to worry about."
The brothers shrug before they all take off in the Impala.
Ariel watches them leave from a nearby alleyway and smiles a bit, "Cas has grown up so much~! I'm so proud of him…"
She heads back to her shop, humming softly… Right before a sigiled bag is slipped over her head and she gets tossed into a vehicle.
