chapter 1

'YOU ALWAYS LIE' Henry shouted as he ran out of the dining room and stormed up the stairs. Regina sighed, picking up yet another plate of untouched dinner. Walking to the kitchen she was lost in thought, She has lost count of the amount of conversations she has had with her son that ended this way. After that damned book appeared everything had changed. Emptying the plates into the bin and putting them in the dishwasher, Regina decided to get her vintage cider from the refrigerator, pouring a glass as she walked to her study, carefully placing the bottle on her desk and settling into the comfortable leather desk chair, she sighed as she slipped off her heels and tucked her legs under herself. she loves the feeling she has when dressed in her sharp black pant suits and contrasting crisp white blouse, the look was definitely worth the pain of these heels, all her suits were comfortable but secretly she longed to be able to get rid of the heels at the end of the day.

Something about her study made her feel safe. She knew she could get lost in herself and not worry, but tonight that seemed to be all she could do. She was losing henry and as much as she tried she couldn't stop it, suddenly overcome with a feeling of worthlessness she emptied the glass and filled it once more, feeling the sting of tears in her eyes. Wondering where she had gone wrong, why didn't Henry love her after all she had given him? Could it be that her mother was right? Was it that she was unworthy of love? Regina sat allowing the silent tears to trace a path down her olive cheeks as she drained another glass. 'Some evil queen I am' she scoffed at that.

Brought out of her thoughts by the tell tale sound of a yellow bug approaching the mayoral mansion.

The only thought that crossed her mind now was 'I can't do this anymore' she had loved fighting with the blonde since she came into town. Regina had relished the challenge of berating the so called Saviour, that the saviour had been the only one to give almost as good as she got, but recently she is finding it harder and harder to get angry, to get the upper hand and this evening she had neither the energy or wit to argue.

Moving to Look out the window of the porch Regina could see Emma mentally preparing herself for her encounter with Regina. She got out of her car and straightened that hideous leather jacket, Regina found herself captivated, watching as Emma tried to tame her unruly locks of hair, bending down to check herself in the mirror of the bug, Regina couldn't help but look at the blondes rear, it alway does look in good in those tighter than tight jeans. Once Emma was happy with her appearance, she turned and started to make her way to the door.
