"Birfday! Birfday! Birfday!"

Tony watched his son running around the living room. The party that Obie had arranged had just come to an end, and the guests had left and honestly… Edwin was a lot happier.

"We need to get him some proper friends." Jarvis reported, "All of those kids were spoilt brats. Poor Edwin just sat in the corner for much of that."

"He'll learn to just smile and hope that they leave." Tony sighed.

"He shouldn't have to. He should have proper friends." Jarvis snapped, swiftly swooping in and catching Edwin, lifting him up into the air.

"Birfday! Birfday!"

"Yes, it is your birthday." Jarvis nodded in agreement, "Have you had fun?"

Edwin thought to himself for a moment, before nodding. "Fun now." He stated with certainty.

"Yes, it is more fun now." Jarvis agreed, "Now, me and Papa have one more present for you."

"What is it?! What is it?!"

"Close your eyes."

Edwin immediately covered his eyes with his hands, peeking through the gaps in his fingers.

"Ah, ah, ah!" Jarvis scolded, "No peeking!"

The eyes were covered again, and once Tony was sure that his son couldn't see, he moved over to the drawers, pulling out a small, multi-colored box. Silently, he gestured over to the table, as Jarvis carried their son over there.

Once the gift was placed on the table, and the key was turned, Jarvis gently pulled Edwin's hands away from his eyes, allowing him to see.

"Woah!" Edwin leaned forwards in excitement as the box turned into a little robot, jumping around the table with little karate actions as it fought against an unseen foe. When it finished its little rotation, it turned to Edwin and saluted him, before transforming back into a box.

"That was amazing!" Edwin whooped, turning to the key again, "You made it just for me?!"

"Just for you."

"You're the bestest daddy in the world!" As Edwin dived across the table to hug Tony, there was a knock on the door, before it swung open and Stane entered the room.

"Apparently…" He began, "… many of the families were disappointed by today's party. I've received serval calls indicating that Edwin was very anti-social."

"He didn't know any of them!" Jarvis stated, as Tony handed Edwin over to him. "He was nervous!"

"Parties like this are how he meets new people!"

"I think we'll try again when he's a bit older." Tony tried to defuse the tension, "Stane, you haven't even said Happy Birthday to Eddie yet, and where's your present?"

Stane was clearly trying to hold himself back, taking a deep breath, "I've put some money into his college fund. A little genius like yours will probably need it by the time he's twelve." He then noticed the disappointed look on Edwin's face, "You can't just have toys now, we need to plan for the future after all."

"He's three." Jarvis muttered under his breath, knowing that Stane had heard him, "What three-year-old is thinking of college?"

"Anyway, onto other matters." Stane moved further into the room, sending Jarvis a vicious glare when Tony wasn't looking, "The new Jericho missile is ready to be deployed to the military. I think a demonstration in Afghanistan should help boost sales."

"And I assume you want me to run this demonstration?"

"That was the plan."

Jarvis opened his mouth to protest, only to receive a warning glare from Tony.

"Set it all up." Tony sighed, "I'll be there."

"That's my boy." There was almost a satisfied smile on Stane's face, "I'll let you get back to your… party."

Stane left and Jarvis felt Edwin relax in his arms.

Yeah.

Jarvis knew the feeling.
