Before I begin, the inspiration for this fic came from the fic, The Many Dates of Danny Fenton, written by the talented author Flower princess11. Please read their fic, it is amazing!
Now then, I know I have a ton of other fics that I need to update, but I am experiencing writer's block and the idea for this fic is currently occupying my brain. By writing it, I hope that it will free up my mind enough to update my other fics, I'm looking at you The Hero Nobody Knows and The Birds and the Esper.
I hope you enjoy the prologue for this fic!
I do not own The Loud House, I only own any OCs that appear in the fic.
Prologue
Lincoln stared at the computer screen. He had an important question on his mind, "Should I? Or shouldn't I?"
He saw a flyer for it on his way home from school. Originally, he had ignored it because the idea of it seemed ridiculous. Now though? He let out a sigh as he leaned back in his seat. Looking over to the side, he had a small frown on his face. One and half years ago, on his 13th birthday, Lincoln had asked Ronnie Anne out officially. When she accepted, he was overjoyed and delighted! He figured that they would be able to make a long distance relationship work like their siblings did. And they did...for a few months. Soon, they began having problems and small arguments were sprouting up between them. It was really hard on them.
Lincoln always did his best to try and make things up to her and solve any problems that popped up. He really liked Ronnie Anne and wanted things to work out between them. Sadly, everything ended when he saw a pic on social media from one of Ronnie Anne's friends. It was of her and a boy snuggling together on some kind of double date. He was shocked and confused, but mostly, he was just hurt. When he checked for the picture again, it had apparently been deleted. That must mean that Ronnie Anne wanted her to take it down before he saw it; however, it was too late.
Lincoln isolated himself from the rest of the family. It hurt even more when he overheard Lori talking about how happy Ronnie Anne was with her boyfriend. When Lincoln confronted her about it, she was at first confused and explained that Ronnie told her that they broke up months ago. When she saw Lincoln's tears, she realized the truth behind everything. Like the angry and overprotective sister she was, Lori went back to college when the weekend ended and proceeded to tell Bobby. Let's just say that a few days later, Ronnie Anne was promptly yelled at by both of them. (mostly Lori, Bobby was too ashamed to yell more than once)
However, a day prior to that, Lincoln had contacted Ronnie Anne and promptly broke up with her. He saw how shocked she was which confused him somewhat, but he was feeling pretty empty by that time so he didn't care too much. He apologized to her for being such a bad boyfriend that she wanted to go behind his back and date someone else as well as lie to his sister about it. He remembered her opening her mouth to say something, but he really did not want to hear anything considering the pain that he was feeling so he told her good-bye and ended the call.
The next day, all of his sisters (excluding Lori who was still at college) pulled him into a group hug after receiving a call from Lori about what happened. The next few months were spent moving on from Ronnie Anne and trying to overcome the fear of the same thing happening in a new relationship. His friends helped him during this time, but the pain was still there.
So when he saw the flyer for the first time, he did think it was ridiculous, but a part of him was scared of it leading him to a girl who could hurt him as much as Ronnie Anne did or even worse. However, the flyer stayed there for the next few weeks and each time that he walked passed it, his curiosity grew. Finally, his resolve crumbled, and he ripped the flyer off to take home.
This is how we find ourselves in our current situation.
"So...this service provides me with at least a month full of blind dates, but I can increase or decrease the amount? That's...a lot of blind dates...I guess I'll sign up for a month, and if things start looking bad then I'll decrease the amount? I guess that works. I don't know. Why am I doing this again?" Lincoln muttered as he buried his face in his palms. Flashes of Ronnie Anne went through his mind and the countless days that he spent holed up in his room. Sighing into his palms, he looked back up.
Clicking on the month option, he went down and typed in a username, Ace_Savy_LL16, before looking down at every other blank that he needed to fill in. Sighing again, he began filling them all in.
"Lets see, my age is 14 1/2. (should I add the half, eh I'll take it off for now) I live in Royal Woods, Michigan. Gender, Male last time I checked heh. Height...Uh let's see...Last time I checked I was 4'10? I really hope I hit a growth spurt soon, Lucy is about to outgrow me...My weight is about 112 lbs...I think? Okay, I think that covers the stats..." Lincoln muttered to himself before moving down to the description and personality parts.
"Hm...Uh, I'm a 14 year old Caucasian boy. I have white hair, yes it's natural, and dark eyes. I'm rather skinny...or maybe slim?" Lincoln finished typing while glancing down at himself. He wasn't muscular, but he also wasn't just skinny (thanks Lynn!) so maybe slim would work best? Erasing the skinny part that he typed, he replaced it with slim. Moving down to personality, he went to type, but found it hard on how to describe himself...
"I'm just a normal guy who likes hanging out with his friends and enjoys spending his time with his family. I like to have fun, but I don't like seeing others get hurt. I am looking for someone who will might share my interests," Lincoln finally decided on. It was pretty basic and seemed like something that would describe an extra in an anime or comic, but it was all he had.
"Likes and dislikes? Hm...I guess...This is hard. I'm going to have to think about it for awhile..." Lincoln muttered to himself while crossing his arms over his chest. After a couple of minutes thinking, he decided to type in some standard things.
Likes: Hanging out with my friends and my sisters, comics, manga, and anime, playing video games, Ace Savvy, listening to SMOOCH, animals especially my pet dog Charles, and writing and drawing.
Dislikes: Bullies, disappointing people, spoilers, anyone or anything hurts my sisters, and liars...plus woodworking, I'm not good at it.
"There, I guess that works? Is that everything?...Wait I have to describe who I want to date? Great..." Lincoln muttered to himself as he rested his head on his hand. Honestly, he just wants to date someone who won't hurt him like Ronnie Anne did...
Clicking on the box, he proceeded to type in a short, but simple description: A kind girl.
Stretching the muscles in his shoulders, he was about to click the submit button before something popped up on the bottom of the form. Apparently, it was required? "What universe am I in? Uh...is this a joke or...?" Lincoln muttered as he clicked on the box only for the phrase 'Universe-RW' to pop up for a split second before the whole section disappeared. Blinking in confusion, Lincoln paused and wondered if he really wanted to join this.
Sighing, he clicked on the 'Submit' button and watched as his form was turned in. A few seconds later, his cell phone went off which signaled that a date was being set up for tomorrow. Good thing summer just started...
Getting up, he walked over and collapsed face first on his bed. He would tell his sisters and Clyde about this tomorrow. He really just wanted to relax before he prepared for his first date. Tomorrow was going to be a long, and hopefully good, day.
AN And that's the end of the prologue! The first chapter will be his first date, and it will much longer than this. I just wanted to cover how old Lincoln is in this, what happened that lead up to him signing up for the Blind Dating Service, and ending with him turning in his form.
So as you can tell from that small detail near the end, the Blind Dating Service is not a normal Dating Service. You will see how next chapter.
Okay, Lincoln's date will all be from other franchises, whether they are cartoons, anime, or video games. So do not expect him to go on a date with anyone from The Loud House, sorry people who wanted him too.
The Age range will be from 13-17. I only put 17 because Lincoln is 14 1/2, so he will be 15 soon. If he had just turned 14 then I would not have added 17. Also, don't let settings of other franchises stop you from suggesting girls, like a girl from Naruto for example. You will see why later.
Everyone, please suggest girls for Lincoln to go on dates with. Make sure they fall within the age range that I have set. I will make some exceptions if you want him to go on a date with say, Rukia from Bleach, because while she is hundreds of years old, she is pretty much at teenage range in Shinigami terms. So any female Shinigami/Arrancar from Bleach that hits the teenage mark will be acceptable.
Please leave me plenty of suggestions! I can pick some girls myself, but I would love for you all to help out as well!
Everyone, please remember that this was inspired by Flower princess11's fic, The Many Dates of Danny Fenton. If you have not read it, please check it out!
You will find out who his first date is in the next chapter! After that, I will be giving hints at the end of each chapter! So please enjoy!
(And please remember, I am going to start on my updates now. The writing block from this idea is gone now so I should be at it soon!)
