Chapter 2: A Beautiful Time
Blue piercing eyes opened slowly as a wind drifted quietly into the room, the warm rays of sunshine where just the right temperature to rouse the blonds lethargic body. Feeling the familiar weight of the woman lying in his embrace a smile lit up his face.
His hands gently combed through her dark blue hair and his eyes turned soft as he pulled her closer. Time seemed to freeze in place as he continued to stare at her. Birds chirped in the air and grass rustled outside but nothing seemed to break that moment.
It was only a few minutes later as the light in his eyes started to dim did he speak out, his voice just above a whisper. "Please just a little longer, give me a little more." No one replied to his words, but as the woman turned over, finally showing her unblemished face and beautiful limpid eyes a new smile appeared and he continued to gently hold her, for many hours, for as long as he could.
The smile was still on his lips as he woke up, looking up into the grey ceiling above him. The smile dimmed for another second, before it once again came back. Even after all this time he could still remember her as if it were yesterday, he didn't know what he would do the day he forgot what she looked like.
Shaking his head to rid himself of such thoughts, he finally noticed other things in the room, specifically the other body resting on his chest. Pulling himself up to get comfortable, he looked down at his guest, a gentle but slightly distant smile replacing his last.
His finger trailed down her unique blue hair, or was it really hair? Honestly he knew the answer, but somethings these days were too troublesome to remember and at the moment, he couldn't be bothered.
Her head slightly nuzzled into his touch and his smile finally turned a bit caring. His ministration hadn't gone unnoticed as her eyes slowly opened, looking up into his own. Giving a cute yawn, her head titled to the side at the unexpected awakening before speaking.
"Something wrong." Her bell like voice drifted past as he continued to run his fingers through her hair, something she notable enjoyed, he shook his head though in denial, bending down to give her a small kiss. "It's nothing, just remembering a time long past."
A small quizzical look was sent his way, before she shrugged her shoulders and nuzzled back into the warmth that was his chest, letting sleep claim her once more. Letting her do what she wanted, Naruto continued to stare at the Asari in his arms, before his mind wandered once again.
Glancing out the small window looking over a section of the Wards, his mind wandered to his old home… his old life… his old love.
It really had been a long time.
You know after a long week of working, and the fact that I working tomorrow as well, that is very unusual, it was sort of nice turning of my brain and writing this. Yes I said turning it off, I mean, nice short and relaxing, easy to write don't have to stress or anything.
