those were the last words kuro heard before opening his eyes from his deep sleep.
kuro Wake's up in an unfamiliar view. he could feel the cold grass tingling up his back skin. he sits up and looks around, he could see trees around.

kuro quickly shifts his gaze over to his abdomen to check the wounds he sustained during the battle, but when he checked there was no wound, in fact no Trace of scar was there it looked completely good as new.
"it doesn't make sense"
kuro thought, one thing he was definitely sure of was that he sustained a fatal injury, the pain he felt when he got sniped was definitely real, yet no trace of bullet wound
"you don't have to worry, your not in a dream, your wounds have being heal"
kurokiba attention got drawn to the female voice he heard coming from his left side and See's a girl in a one-piece brown dress and a hood.
' is she perhaps the one who helped me'
kuro was about to ask a question when he was suddenly interrupted

the girl starts to walk towards the way she came
kuro gets on his feet and follows behind her
while they were walking kuro had many questions he wanted to ask but the girl seemed to be in no mood to talk.
they finally arrived at their destination, and kuro could see in front of him what seem to be a just put together grave.He felt kinda anxious so he asked
"what's this place"
-"its the grave of my grandmother the one who summoned and also saved you"

the girl takes a deep breath and let's its out before pulling down her hood
short silverish blue that's what came to kuro's mind when he saw the girls hair
'did she perhaps dyed it, but then it looks too natural',
the girl turns to face kuro
"my name is Diane"
she then takes a sit on the floor with her legs crossed
"we needed a hero"
she explained to kurokiba how her village gets attacked by monsters , and how her people would be killed and devoured.
her village is consider a territory of the Burgundian empire and they also have a lord overseeing it
when the attacked started,the lord made a request for soldiers to come and aid his territory. the capital did send some troops, but it turns out those troops weren't good enough, the monsters were stronger, infact a few of the troops ran away in fear, in the end it was the combined efforts of the male villagers and the few remaining troops that helped repelled the monsters, but still there were casualties.
there territorial lord requested for better troops and equipment , but was denied.
the empire of Burgundian was preparing for a war against an hostile country to their north , and because of that they can't afford to waste their troops.
not only that but the appearance of rampaging monsters around the empire had started to increase and among them sightings of S-level monsters had being seen, the S-level monsters designated 'Apocalyptic beast and their powers were so ferocious one of them could kill an army of 200 on its own, its not a far fetch to say if any of this S-type monster made it into a city, that city is done for.
special powers were need in order to defeat this S-rank beast and that is when summoning of heroes comes in.
it take a team of four cardinal mages to summon one hero from another world, so a group of four, consisting of four, a total of sixteen mages works together to summon four hero's .
the heroes summoned then use their powers to Also summon spirit beast 'noble beast' from a divine realm, then enter a pact with them, which make the heroes powers double in return. they work side by side with their 'noble beast ' subjugating the apocalyptic beast as well as monsters. they are not use in political conflict because of the overwhelming powers they possess.
these heroes had already been summoned at the royal capital, but they weren't sent to save village being ravaged by beast.
it was then a woman in the village who owned an orphanage thought of the ice of summoning a hero by herself.
it was a dangerous ploy but still the woman couldn't just sit back and watch her people being killed off one by one so she acted on her plan and 'kurokiba' was the result of this.
Mixed thoughts brushed through kuro's mind after hearing the girl say all this, it was alot for him to take but he eventually manage to calm is mind
It was then a thought flash through his mind
"wait I you just said a single mage can't succefully summon a hero from another world right , but your grandmother pulled it of ...
the girl grit her teeth in annoyance
-" yes she managed to summon you but it came at a cost and that was her life"
"the reason why four mages are needed in other to summon a hero is so as to increase the summoning accuracy. my grandmother had a hard time maintain its accuracy and when the summoning finally locked on its target it ended up being someone who was on the verg of death.
" the success rate of a lone mage performing a summoning is very low, but then the summoning made you in your badly wounded state its fixed target.
"Grandmother couldn't stop the process at this stage because she might not get another chance like this but at the same time if you are summoned in your wounded state you would die. so she used a life exchange spell . then you were summoned"...
she didn't need to finish her worlds before kuro understood her grandmother had given her life for his
every word the girl sitting in front of him said sinked deep into his mind , she made the situation he found himself understandable to him, also he finally understand why he felt a sense of grudge from her towards him. she had lost someone she cared about just to save him, she probably felt that kind of sacrifice ought not to be made...
the situation couldn't be changed it is how it is
although kuro felt kinda apologetic, but then he thought an apology might not suit the situation.
he recalled the request he heard before waking up,

a somewhat refreshed look appeared on his face

kuro gets up from the floor stretches his arms upwards

kuro then looks at her.
"you said when a hero is summoned their expected to summon the so Called noble beast themselves, so how do I do that"
diane gave a frantic look probably surprised at kuro's forwardness
but then again she promised her grandmother she would help him
"it is said that when a hero is summoned they naturally know how to summon their designated beast.
" don't you feel anything at all"
kuro closed his eyes and tried concentrating, but he couldn't feel any connection to this so called beast
diane deep in thought
'could this also be a side effect of the imperfect summoning'
after plundering for a while
"how about your personal elemental control"
kuro tilt's his head a little
"elemental control?"
"-they are natural abilities given to you once summoned, it can be earth,wind water , fire".though some inhabitants of this world are born with elemental control from birth, but they still can't be compared to that of a branch see"
kuro close's his eye's for a few second,breaths in and out his surrounding air softly.
then a some what turbulent breeze warped around kuro's and his surroundings for a short while before finally dissipating.
"did you get it?"
kuro opens his eyes and answers
"yes"
he already knows what his element is as if he were born with it.
the girl gets on her feet and walks towards kuro direction before passing him by
"we should start heading back to the village"
"OK"
just has kuro was about to turn, he stopped and looked at the grave stone for the very last time then he bow towards it and said
"Thank you"
Diane takes a quick glance at kuro
both of them then departed.

while walking through the forest, kuro came to stop
the girl looks back
"what's wrong?".
" -I want to test out my abilities "
"ho"
kuro had been feeling anxious to test out his new powers
the girl too wanted to see as well
so kuro prepared himself
kuro faces a tree a few meters away from him, Raise's his left arm up to make a chop form with this palm.
then a turbulent wind began gathering round his arm
swooo!
he brings his arm down and a tightly fussed blade shaped wind shoots fourth from him and cuts into the tress frame in front of him
a straight line of thin space appeared on the tree almost like a sword blade went through it.
kuro arched up a slight smile while clenching his fist
"hmm"
kuro graze shifts to Diane
"is something wrong"
"that wind blade technique you used is considered an A-rank lethtal spell among wind magic user, and it takes time to master yet you performed it in an instant and with your bear hands"
kuro had a puzzled look
"bear hands?, was it strange that I did it with my hands"
"-usually wind user's use weapons like swords to perform a lethal spell like that"

"do you want to try out other skills?,"

just then kuro felt his heart tighting up a little as he felt the air carrying something sinister
" hey did you feel that?"
Diane with a puzzled look
"feel what?"
it was then a load roar echoed from a distance
Diane immediately felt something bad was happening
"we need to get to the village now "
both of them began running towards Diane's village
kuro's body felt light has he ran, then he thought if he runs at full speed he might get to her village faster, but that would mean leaving Diane behind. then an idea popped in his head

kuro apologized before carrying Diane on his arms,
the girl felt flustered
"hey what are you..."

then kuro dashed forward at high speed as wind trail follows behind.
they arrived at the village in less than a min, and saw a Minotaur bashing down everything in its part with its large club.
low level goblins accompanied the Minotaur, joining it in its ravage.
the goblins spread out like flies and attacked women and children.
the guards were trying to hold the minotaur off by hauling spears at it but, they got smashed to a puddle by the massive club it wielded
rrggghhh!!
the Minotaur roars as it charges towards a phalanx formation of soldier,
as the Minotaur was about to ram into them

the Minotaur falls to the ground
the grounded Minotaur looked behind its leg and saw a sword pointing out from it when did this happened...
it was then the Minotaur heard a voice
"hey could you lend me your spear "
the Minotaur tutted its head forward and saw an unknown human standing backsided to him as the human collected a spear from a soldier who's face was also in shock from what it had just witnessed.
the rampage of the goblins quickly came to stop when they saw their Minotaur leader had been grounded and whittling in pain
kuro takes the spear and walks up to the Minotaur who was already struggling to get up on one leg
immediately kuro steps in front of the Minotaur as if it was waiting for that chance , the Minotaur stretch out his arms to grab the punny human

kuro avoids by jumping into the air
while mid-air kuro begins to gather wind around the spear in his right hand then spuns around before finally launching the spear at a bullet speed down to the Minotaur
Boooom!!!
a thick dust raises from the ground then dissipates after a few second, given view for all to see the upper layer of the Minotaur busted apart
the goblins that saw the defeat of their leader started running back towards the forest at a frantic speed
"don't let them run away!"
"hunts those bustards down"
a now motivated soldiers and townsmen chased after the goblins and cut them down
"thank you for your help"
kuro who was standing in front of the Minotaur corpse turns around to sight the one thanking him
"you're welcome"
the soldier then stares intently at kuro
kuro with a poker face asks
"is there something on my face?"
the soldier then Shook's his head left and right
"ho no its nothing"
the soldier thought kuro was a dark elf because of is dark Carmel skin and his cat like agility which was an attribute of the dark elf known for being the Best assassin.
but then kuro doesn't have long ear's as the dark elf's and also a dark elf won't bother himself to save a human village.
it was then Diane interrupted their talk
"I found him laying in the forest. it seems he was attacked attacked by a monster and also, it seems he lost his memories so I brought him to our village, I hope it's not a problem"
"ho no,not at all"
the soldier With an elated expression walks up to Diane and patted her on her shoulder
"you did good diane"
the soldier accepted the lie quite easily, he probably didn't want be rude towards his saviour
kuro watched the two as they exchange talks
"by the way what about your grandmother I thought you both went into the forest"
the soldier then became conscious of the gloomy expression on Diane's face
"what wrong"
Diane finally opens her mouth
"grandmother is dead"
"what!.
" she was killed by a monster".
