Ari/Arianna

I stood up from the table and looked at the clock. It said 9:30am so I had been sitting there for 40 minutes lost in my own thoughts.

I paid back to my room to get some clothes for the day, my bare feet making thumping noises on the cold black tile. Even though I wasn't Dauntless anymore, I still kept it's colours in my everyday wardrobe, and even in my small apartment.

My floors were mostly black, my counters in my kitchen were a lighter shade of black, and my walls were white ish gray. My table was a crisp brown. most of my clothes consisted of either black or dark colours.

My couches in my living room were dark navy blue, and my coffee table was grey, the walls were a somber violet colour.

I reached my room and walked over to my dresser. I picked out a dark red v neck long sleeved shirt, and a pair of black skinny jeans and put them on.

I walked into my bathroom and tied my red blonde hair in a ponytail, and brushed my hair. I put on a little makeup or else I would get scolded by Christina and I was not in the mood for that today.

My makeup looked like the regular style in dauntless smoky black eyeliner surrounding my blue green eyes, with a little mascara. I skipped the lipstick because I really hated wearing it.

I just couldn't let go, not even two and a half years later I still could not forget the factions. Dauntless was my home, It was where I grew up.

Try as I might I could never forget.

Clary

I reached the door to my room and opened it. My mom was still there sitting patiently on my bed.

Without a word I sat beside her. And let out a sigh. "We have to find him" I said. "I know sweetie," she said, rubbing my shoulder.

"Should we tell everyone else?" I asked. "Only if you want to" she said. Then I got up and walked towards the door, "I'm going to get Izzy, Simon and Jace to meet me in the kitchen " I said "can you meet me there?" I asked.

She nodded her head yes and got up to join me at the door. "Meet you there in five" I said as we went our separate ways. "Alright" is all I heard her say as I ran down the hallway towards Izzy's room.

Once I got to Izzy's door I knocked one no answer, again and the door was opened by a very Frazzled looking Isabelle. She stepped out the door and closed it but not before I saw Simon sitting one her bed faking innocence.

A knowing smile appeared on my face and she scowled at me. "Shut up" she mumbled. "Hey I didn't say anything" I said raising my arms in mock surrender.

"You got that look in your eye" she said. I laughed. "Anyways, " I said, "Can you and Simon meet my mom and I in the library?" I asked.

"Sure" she said "thanks Iz i'm just gonna go get Jace' I said "see you there!" I said as I started walking down the hallway towards Jace's room.

Ar/Arianna

I just got off the train and was walking towards the old dauntless compound. I really missed jumping on and off trains. I loved the adrenaline rush when for those few seconds you're suspended in mid air.

But like the faction system that ended to. I climbed up the metal stairs making creaking noises as I ascended. When I got to the top I noticed I was not alone.

As I approached the person I saw it was Four. he was staring down the hole where the net would be with his hands stuffed in his pockets. I walked up beside him and sat down with my feet dangling over the edge.

"Hey Ari" he said slowly. "Hey Four" I said. He chuckled "Why do you still call me Four?" he asked "You know I go by Tobias now right?" he said. Now it was my turn to chuckle a little.

"Well let's see" I said tapping my chin with my pointer finger. "I've known you as Four since I was 14, so It kinda stuck" I said. "Well that or 'The stiff transfer' but that's just too big of a mouthful" I continued.

He laughed a little and said "you have a sense of humor like her, you know that?" he said. I looked at him quizikaly for a little before I spoke again looking over the edge. "No not really" I said "never got the chance to get to know her that well" I sighed.

"Well you do" he said "thanks, it's nice to have something in common with her" I said "us being cousins and all".

We sat in silence for a while when my phone thingy, Caleb and other scientists invented rang. I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was my father. I answered it and said "hey dad wos' up?"

"Hey Arianna, can you stop by my place please I have something to tell you" he said. "sure " I responded. "Thanks, see you soon," he said before he hung up.

"Well I gotta go" I told Four "see ya soon?" I asked. He shook his head yes as I was getting up and I made my way towards the stairs. Before I descended them I said "I think she would be really proud of the person you have become" I said, and then clambered down the stairs.

Clary

Once everyone was in the kitchen and seated around the table started while twiddling my fingers.

"Well we have some big news to tell you" I started I took a deep breath and looked at my mother and she said "I have a brother" she stated. Simon spat out the water he was drinking. "W-w-what?" he blubbered.

"Seriously rat face" said Jace "it's obvious what she just said". "I know that," said Simon, wiping off his mouth. "I was just not expecting it" he stated indignantly.

"Is he alive?" asked Izzy. I nodded. All of their mouths gaped in surprise. "He's out there somewhere," I said. "Well let's find him!" said Izzy exasperated.

"Find who?" said a voice from the door. We all turned our heads to see Magnus and Alec standing in the doorway. Someone was snapping their fingers in front of my face breaking me from my reverie.

"Earth to biscuit" said Magnus. "Nervous?" he asked. "Kinda" I said. Jace wrapped his arm around my waist from where he was sitting beside me on the couch and said "well don't be, it's gonna be okay".

"Thanks," I murmured, leaning my head on his shoulder. "There's no need to be nervous,'' Clary said to Izzy "she's right," Alec and Simon nodded along.

We had stepped through a portal that Magnus had said should take us to Garette. We had ended up in front of his apartment.

My mom had knocked on the door and when Garette opened it he recognized my mother instantly.

Garrette had bright red hair like me, big bright green eyes and he was tall and well built. His wife who I learned was named Marie had long blonde hair and grey blue eyes and she

was tall and thin but looked like she could pack a good punch.

Turns out he had a son and a daughter, the youngest being Mateo and the oldest was named Arianna. Arianna had her own apartment in the city.

Now they were waiting for her to show up. While we were waiting he filled us in on everything. Apparently the city was once separated by five groups called factions.

Each faction had a special name and character trait. He also told us what happened during the war and everything.

The door opened and a girl with red blonde hair tied back into a ponytail and blue green eyes around them was wearing smokey black eyeshadow and mascara walked in "hey dad, what did you want to talk to ab-" she stopped short as soon as she saw us. "Arianna honey, why don't you sit down?" said Marie. "We have some things to talk about" she said motioning for the only empty chair.

"Alright then" she said sitting down.

Ari/Arianna

"Hey dad, what did you want to talk abo-" I said as I walked into the apartment but stopped short when I saw several people crowded in the living room.

I stood there frozen in place shocked.

One girl had frizzy red hair like my dads and the same bright green eyes. The guy next to her had blonde hair and piercing golden eyes, another guy had ink black hair and vibrant blue eyes. There was a woman with dark red hair and warm green eyes.

There was another with ink black hair this time a girl and dark brown eyes that looked almost black. There was a guy with multicoloured hair sticking up everywhere and yellow eyes the colour of a cat.

The last of them was a guy with shaggy brown hair, brown eyes and a pair of glasses hanging low on his nose. Him and Mateo were chatting about who knows what'

"Arianna, honey why don't you sit down" said my mom. "We have some things to talk about" she said against motioning for the only empty chair. "Alright then," I said, forcing my frozen limbs to move and going to sit down.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw the guy with the blonde hair smirking. "What's so funny, eh?" I said. He looked at me shocked, and I couldn't help it as a satisfied smile creeped it's way onto my face.

"Well as you know, we have some guests" said my father. Yeah no duh I thought but kept my mouth shut. "And you know I'm from outside the city," he said. He paused, "well this is my sister Jocelyn" he said pointing at the woman with dark red hair and soft green eyes.

My mouth formed an 'O' shape and my eyes grew wide. "And this" he said "is her daughter, Clary" he said pointing at the girl with frizzy light red curls. "And these people are Isabelle, Simon, Alec, Magnus and Jace." he said pointing at the others in turn.

"They all came from outside the city" he said "Wait, wait, wait" I said shaking my hands back and forth. "You're saying that I have an Aunt and a cousin from outside the city!?". My mother nodded "that pretty much sums it up" said Mateo.

"Garette, Marie can I talk to you for a minute please?" asked Jocelyn. "sure" said my father as he stood up and walked into the next room.

"Well now that's all sorted" said Isabelle. "What's it like outside the city?" asked Mateo. "It's great," said Simon. "How great?" he asked. "Like really, really great"

Mateo scowled, not happy with is amber and crossed his arms. I let out a laugh "now, now goof don't get too riled up" I said. Simon looked at me with silent thanks.

"Well let's see" said Magnus "there's a place called Taki's diner that we love to go to" he said. "Oh and there's this club called Pandemonium" said Isabelle.

Mateos eyes lit up "wow!" he breathed. "What are some places you like to go?" Clary asked me. "Well I like to hang around the old Dauntless compound" I said.

"Dauntless aren't those the brave ones?" said Alec. I nodded my head. "Well what faction do you think we would be in?" asked Jace.

"Hmmm…" I thought out loud. "I would say Simon could be either Erudite or Amity" I started "aren't those the kind and smart ones?" asked Simon. I nodded. "Clary would be….Dauntless or Amity" I thought for a while longer "Jace would be Dauntless" I said "Magnus would be either Amity or Erudite….. Alec would be either Dauntless or Erudite" I said "I think Isabelle would be Dauntless" I finished

"What faction were you from Arianna?" asked Isabelle "please call me Ari, and I was from Dauntless" I said proudly raising my chin. "And you think all of this just by looking at us?" asked Clary "she's a pretty good judge of character, like Tris" said Mateo.

I tensed at the mention of Tris's name, and unfortunately everyone noticed. "Who is Tris?" asked Alec. "well….." I droned "she was my cousin on my mothers side" I started "she was my best friend and s-s-she… died saving us all from complete memory wipe, from the memory serum" I said brushing stray tears from my eyes

"She's been dead for two and a half years now" I said through more tears. Isabelle who sat across from me put her hand on my shoulder and gave me a sympathetic smile. I smiled back and wiped away my tears.

"Well she sounds like a brave person" said Magnus "yeah she really was" I said
