A.N: Hello once again you lovely people! Apologies again for the lateness, I'm balancing Rumble with an upcoming test, so updates might get a little sketchy, but everything will be sorted after the 17th, so don't worry too much about that. Onto Reviews!

Vince Fangway: Hehe, yeah, he is pretty muscular, definitely make sure to keep an eye out for the guy. As for Nobunaga, Imma have to unfortunately say that AFO was not screwing around with an Ouija Board this time around XD, though the current Nobunaga wouldn't really know that. In terms of the inspiration for the droids, think something along the lines of the foot-soldiers from Metal Gear Rising-Revengance. And just to be clear: the droids that Nobu sent out are just fodder ones. Look out for the more interesting ones later in the future ;D. Thanks for the support dude!

God Doesn't Love You: Nah, Kendo ain't gunning for the No. 1 spot, that'll still belong to All Might. Though, he WILL be highly ranked, no doubt about that.

ChernoAlpha117: Thanks for the welcoming party dude! Just to confirm, my goal is to real all the way to canon! If Rumi and Kendo end up having a kid though, that may be more of an epilogue kinda thing... should they survive the canon events, that is. In terms of Kendo helping train Deku, you'd be surprised because- DATA REDACTED- and those are my plans regarding that matter. When it comes to replacing or adding other new characters, I'm still fairly iffy on that (I'm actually getting into the Warhammer Lore, and so far it's an AMAZING series), but the Pistol Shrimp Quirk is still a really badass idea, so I'll definitely keep it in mind. Thanks again for the support dude!

SkeenTheDream: Glad you liked the setup my man! For a while, I sucked at writing a good intro to my villains, but hey, practice makes perfect right? The bots that were sent out are what Nobu considers basic fodder, but don't worry, they'll be interesting enough ;D. I'm afraid I don't know what you're referring to when you say the Nobunaga anime, gonna need some context there (unless it's a hentai. The less context, the better XD) Act 2 has begun, and thank you for sticking around this long!

StandUpKeepMovingForward: Oh noes indeed my friend, oh noes indeeeeed...

FalconPuncher: That is indeed correct on both parts: Nobunaga's son is Muscular, and it is going to be a VERY interesting arc. Read on man!

He Who Devours The Suns: Thank you dude, and welcome aboard! Glad you're liking the interactions between Rumi and Kendo, and of course there will be more to come. Stay sharp dude!

JJKR: Doctor Wu NEVER fails XD, and as such Nobunaga/Wu shall endeavour to live up to that.

Seeker of Immortality: Under normal circumstances, that is correct. The canon muscular would be unable to live up to the legacy of someone like Nobunaga... at least, the CANON Muscular ;D.

Ragnas Bredvolts: Welcome aboard the train dude! Glad you're liking the story so far, and I'm just gonna cover both of your reviews in the one section, hope you don't mind. First, stairs tend to be a LOT of people's worst enemy, and Rumi may or may not get a hilarious comeuppance later. Happy you like how I worked with Yu's character, always found her to be a funny character and I wanted to add my own little spin on why she is the way she is. Second, to be fair, Kendo ain't a demigod in this, but he'll have his beast-mode against Testude a bit later one, so eyes out for that. Thanks again dude!

With all that said, let's get back to the show!

Rumble, Young Man Rumble!

Chapter 26

Inspirations

The Sunday of the Sports Festival week was where everything had more or less quieted down. The Tournaments for the Second and Third years were still a blast, but nothing could shake the memory of the final bout between Kendo Rappa and Rumi Usagiyama. It was a battle that had taken every ounce of strength and courage from them, and in turn was an incredible fight to the finish, the near turnaround from Kendo having only made it more compelling for everyone watching. That being said though, the festival was over, and while the crowds had dispersed, what was certain is that everyone was talking about the young, loud and powerful hopefuls that the first-years were.

Speaking of loud…

"F-fuck!" Rumi groaned, pleasure shooting right up her spine, her ears trembling slightly.

"Sorry, too rough?" Kendo grunted.

"N-no, that's just the spot~!"

Kendo grunted again, his eyebrows furrowing a bit as he kissed his teeth. "Jesus Rumi, this spot is way too tight! Imma have to put some more muscle into this."

"W-what're ya-aaaaaahhhn~!" Rumi practically melted into the sheets as he hit the right spot. "How… how are you so good at giving massages?"

What did you think was going on? Don't give me that look.

"You'd be surprised," Kendo chuckled as he kneaded a knot in her lower back. "My mom's quirk stresses her muscles and gives her cramps, and since my dad's wrist-joints are super strong, he was really good at giving massages. I just happened to be there and I picked up on a few things."

"Th-that's kinda weird," Rumi stuttered, still in utter bliss of the massage, "But I've got noooo complaints." She sighed as the kink was finally worked out of her back, her entire body feeling like warm jelly. What had certainly helped was that they were U.A students, and as such had full access to Recovery Girl's treatments. She had ensured that both teens got daily healings after their bout in the Tournament, and as it was right now, they were still a little sore but otherwise almost fully recovered, just in time for the upcoming Internships.

"Bwaaaa~! I've never felt so limber in my whole damn life!" Rumi laughed, rolling over with a content sigh. She then remembered that Kendo was basically straddling her and saw the goofy smile and entranced eyes on his face. In turn, she couldn't help but grin back, her face heating up. A lot. 'Holy crap, this dude is my boyfriend.' Grinning wider, she grabbed his wrist and hooked his shirt twisting quickly and switching their positions fast enough for him to yelp in surprise. She was the one sitting on his lower stomach now, her small hands on his chest. He couldn't take his eyes off of that smug grin as she leaned closer, her cheeks red and her messy hair framing her face.

'Holy shit, this babe is my girlfriend.'

"See somethin' you like?" She asked softly, leaning just a bit closer. She flinched in surprise as Kendo closed the distance, pressing his lips to hers before he melted into it, grinning in glee as she felt his powerful arms wrap around her waist, pressing her flush against him. When they parted with a small smacking sound, he was smiling just as wide as her.

"Yes I do," He answered, "And goddamn do I like it a lot."

She burst into laughter at that, her face heating up even more as she pulled him into another quick kiss before resting her head on his chest, using him like a giant pillow. "Careful with that mouth of yours," She said, "That shit's a dangerous weapon on my heart." She felt him gently kiss one of her ears and forced herself not to purr in delight.

"I'll keep that in mind Usagi."

They sat in silence for a while, just enjoying the late Sunday morning in Kendo's room and basking in each other's warmth under the streams of sunlight. Over the sort few days that Kendo and Rumi had finally confessed to each other, they had learned a few key things about each other.

Rumi learned that Kendo was shockingly gentle. He never once did something out of line or without her permission. Hell, he actually apologized for touching her waist until she gave him the greenlight (granted, she totally loved it when he did that). Also, his body was surprisingly warm, packed muscle radiating a gentle heat. She loved that too.

Kendo has learned that Rumi was incredibly touchy, in the sense that she really liked it when they were pressed up right against each other. In general, she loved closing the distance between them or likewise having it closed. He sure as hell didn't mind, because it led him to the second thing that he learned. She was surprisingly firm. It made sense, considering that both of them were well trained, but everything about her body was just… firm. Especially that waist of hers. God, he really liked that waist. And hips. And… well, you get the point.

Above all else, they found it so odd that they were able to reach each other rather well. Sure, they had been close friends for the good part of over two months now, but this was different. They felt much more aware of each other's personal ques, able to pick up on each other's moods, wants, needs. Of course, it wasn't perfect, like mind-reading, but still something interesting, more-so when they were in close proximity of each other, such as when side by side. Or hugging. Oh, can't forget making out, especially making out.

"Oh, that actually reminds me of something!" Rumi said excitedly, untangling herself from him. For a split second though, she hesitated, almost as if she really didn't want to let go. The moment passed though and she hopped off the bed, jogging over to the exit. "I'll be right back, I've got something cool that you'll like."

"Don't take too long," He joked, "It's getting cold here."

"I won't." The softness in her voice at that startled him, though she had already left.

'Hmm,' He thought to himself. 'Something's up. Dunno what, but it ain't something good. Whadda you think?'

'We're damn near the exact same entity,' The other him groused. 'How the fuck would the consciousness that is us collectively know if you, who is also part of the same mentality, also do not fuckin' know?'

'I mean, shit, that's a good point,' He sighed before smiling a bit. 'All I gotta do is keep lovin' the gal and punch whatever makes her cry!'

'You realise that she'll probably kick it to death before you get to punch it, right?'

'God that's so hot.'

'Mm, agreed.'

"Sorry about that," Rumi said as she entered, holding up a disk. "Finally found it. You said that you needed a few ideas for your own style right? Figured that you might like this." She strut over to the little television and DvD box that he had resting on a ledge in front of his bed, flicking it on and inserting the disk. Curious, Kendo sat on the edge, interested at what was to come as soon as two boxing-gloves flashed on the screen, the words 'Round 1' right beneath them. Rumi promptly sat in his lap, getting comfortable as the sound roared to life, crowds cheering as two men stepped forward, both of them massive in height and size, one wearing red trunks while the other wore white and black.

The moment the bell rang, the fighter in red stalked forward, his hands held high while the fighter in white danced on the spot with his hands low, his feet flickering and moving like a flashfire. It wasn't long before the man in red stepped in, his powerful muscles tensed to deliver a shocking punch. Before he could even wind up, the man in white's hands flashed forward two strikes blasting into his face in an instance before he danced away with that incredible footwork. Even still, he found himself pinned to the ropes, the man in red unleashing massive, air-rending blows that slammed into the other man's guard, threatening to break his arms. Still, the man in white persisted, tying him up, dodging, and lashing out with lightning-fast punches that never missed.

"This was the first ever fight that I've watched," Rumi said, "Foreman versus Ali, the Rumble in the Jungle. I dunno why, but it's always been my favourite to watch since I was a kid. Sorry that the video looks so grainy, you might not…" She looked up, trailing off as she supressed a snicker. Kendo was entranced, enamoured, hypnotised by what he was seeing, his mouth hanging open and his eyes wide in awe.

"Holy shit…" He muttered, "If I was quirkless, they both could've kicked my ass easily." Rumi couldn't hold back a laugh at the childish awe on his face, both of them getting comfy as the day went on, cheering at the TV screen. As fun and as peaceful as it was, Kendo still watched and learned. As such, ideas swirled in his head. Slowly but surely, they would bear fruit.

Monday afternoon…

"…So today, we'll be working on your HERO NAMES!" The entire class cheered in excitement at the activity laid before them. For them, this was the first badge of honour when it came to becoming a true hero. Picking your alias wasn't just a matter of having a cool name for yourself (though that's not to say there aren't people who think like that) but also to express who you are and what your hero-name symbolises.

It didn't take long for some of the class to come with their names, Yu proudly hopping up to the podium after a minute and showing off.

"Mt. Lady, the Mineyama Hero!" She said proudly, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"A very proud name!" Midnight, "Certainly fits with your Quirk!"

Not long after, Tetsude stepped up with a grin on his face.

"Death-Arms, the Superhuman Hero!"

"A bit of a rough name," Midnight said after thinking, giving a thumbs up, "But a good one nonetheless!"

Bit by bit, the class went up one by one to present their names. Ryukyu. Kamui Woods. Gunhead. Before long, Rumi walked up and proudly presented her name. Kendo couldn't help but smile: after all, it was the name of one of her favourite fighters.

"Rabbit Hero: Miruko," She said, smiling. "That's gonna be my name." She caught Kendo's giant smile directed at her and couldn't help but blush a bit, feeling a bit giddy. 'Damn, not sure if I'll get used to that.'

"That's a kickin' name, and perfectly suits you!" Midnight cheered, "Looks like we've got one more person left. No need to make us wait much longer, let's get right to the climax~!" Rumi cringed a bit at the way Midnight purred at her boyfriend, a very slight growl working its way up her throat as she walked back to her seat. Before she sat down though, she actually saw Kendo's face. He was nervous.

"You good?" She asked gently.

"… not sure if this is what I wanna go for," He sighed after a moment, "It's a bit… simple. I was thinking Ashura for the first while, but a 'God of Wrath' ain't exactly painting a heroic image." He saw a hand on his own, looking up to see a bright smile on Rumi's face.

"C'mon dude, go for it! Whatever the name is, wear it with pride and with no regrets, okay?" He took a deep breath and nodded, smiling back at her.

"Thanks Usagi."

"Anytime Kendo," She said back.

'TOO CUTE!' Was the collective thought running through the class. Kendo stood up, steadily walking towards the front of the class. He fiddled with his whiteboard for a moment before he showed it to everyone.

"…Rumble. My hero name is Rumble, the Hero who always stands."

For a while, there was silence, Kendo squirming on place for a bit. 'Oh God, please don't tell me I look stupid,' He thought, 'Did I spell it right!?'

"Shit, that's…" Tetsude muttered, loud enough for everyone to hear him. "That's actually pretty cool."

"I'd have to agree on that one," Midnight said with a smile. "Simple, gets the point across, and an inspiring little quote to go with it too. I'm guessing that the name has some kind of meaning to you as well?"

"…yeah," He said, relaxing as he grinned at Rumi, his own cheeks a bit pink. Rumi herself though…

'Holy shit,' She thought as her face burned, her mouth trembling as she fought to hide a massive smile breaking her face. 'You cheeky bastard, you know exactly where you got that damn name from.'

"Now, with all that being said," Aizawa announced, everyone having finished their names by this point. "Your names are what you'll be using for the upcoming internships. They'll only last about a week, and it's likely that all of you will have to travel elsewhere for them. Make sure you choose wisely: this is an opportunity for all of you to learn and grow as heroes." Walking around, he handed out papers with details requiring a signature for each student.

"Oh, and of course, each of you have a number of offers from different heroes and agencies. On the board, you'll see how many each of you have. On-paper details will list who exactly these offers are from, and will be delivered to you in about… five minutes."

The board flickered to life, and jaws immediately dropped.

Rumi Usagiyama stood at the very top, with a staggering 4,050 offers. Directly below her was Kendo, with an equally shocking 3,100. "Good god," Sendo laughed, "How the hell are the rest of us supposed to top that?"

"That's rich, coming from someone with over a thousand offers! Shinji beat me out too!" Yu said, pouting as she looked at her own four hundred. Shinji was utterly shocked at the number he received, 482 offers directed his way. Tetsude sighed in relief as he looked at his 399, a grin on his face. Ryuko herself was pleased, scoring higher than Sendo with 1,202. Not too long after did a cart full of papers wheel into the classroom, Aizawa taking huge stacks of paper and placing it in front of each respective student, all of them watching in disbelief at what they had to sort through.

"You all have three days to make your decision. No exceptions," Aizawa said, drawing cries of surprise and displeasure from everyone. "Quiet," He said sharply, eyes glowing as he immediately shut everyone up. "This is reality. Heroes don't have time to lay back and choose what they want to do, so hurry and make your choice. If you don't by the end of three days, I'll personally pick for you. Clear?"

"Yes Sensei!" The class replied, more than a bit scared.

"Good. Class dismissed… huh, it's the end of the day. Well, same thing." He promptly sauntered out of the classroom with Midnight trailing behind him, the class talking amongst itself as soon as they left.

"How in god's name are we supposed to sort through this pile of crap!?" Tetsude shouted, "This is a month's worth of work!"

"To be fair," Sendo sighed, "We've got it easy compared to the top two." Everyone looked at the tower of papers in front of Rumi and Kendo, both of them completely unsure on where the hell to start.

"…y-yeah," Tetsude muttered, "Guess you're right."

"I seriously have no clue where the fuck to start," Rumi groaned, leaning back in her seat. "You got anything?"

"Not really," Kendo said, flicking through the papers. "Though, I think I'm seeing a pattern here…" At that, Rumi sat up, looking around her papers to see Kendo's concentrated face.

"What's up?"

"The deeper you dig into these, the higher the rankings." They both immediately looked at each other and grinned. "Skip everything else and go to the last page?"

"Ballsey," Rumi laughed, "But I like it!" Immediately, they lifted their respective towers of paper and managed to pick out the final one sitting at the very bottom. Rumi looked at her very last offer, and her face lit up in excitement.

"Who'd ya get?" Kendo asked, smiling at just how cute she looked like that.

"Dude, I got Yoroi fucking Musha."

At that, Kendo whistled out loud, high-fiving her. "Damn, the 5th Ranked in all of Japan huh? Nice score!"

"Damn right!" Rumi cheered, "Who did you get?"

"Nobody from the top ten," Kendo groused, "But I did get a top thirty dude, some guy named… Nighteye. Never heard of him before though." He looked up to see Rumi just staring at him, eyes wide.

"…What?"

"Kendo, Nighteye is the someone who holds the second highest-solved cases out of every active hero" She said, "Not just that but… he's the current and ONLY sidekick of All Might."

At that, Kendo literally shot out of his seat. He grabbed the Terms-Paper and instantly wrote the name down. "What the hell are you doing!?" Rumi asked as she laughed.

"What the hell else!? Imma sign up with the man next to All Might!"

(To Be Continued…)

A.N: Kendo's hero name, in case you may still be confused, is a direct reference to Muhammad Ali versus George Foreman, a legendary boxing-match that was dubbed the Rumble in the Jungle, and he's got Rumi to thank for that. Also, we finally get the official internship arcs coming along! Believe me, those are gonna be pretty interesting, if I do say so myself. That being said, hope you all enjoy, so take care and peace out!
