PERCY'S POV

What was the screaming for? Was Piper having a fight with Annabeth? No, it seemed more like a terrified one. I increased my speed and paced upstairs with new effort. Jason and the others also followed.

I reached Annabeth's room to find Piper sitting and sobbing besides Annabeth while a demon was standing near the window with a pleased look on its face. I immediately recognised her. She was Kampe! We had met her during the war of Labyrinth. Annabeth had stabbed her in the back and saved my life.

Again remembering about how much I owed Annabeth and the fact that she was hurt by me filled me with guilt and embarrassment. I was so lost in my memories that I hadn't recognized the blood spilled on the floor and that the fact that the blood was coming from Annabeth's wound on her stomach. Kampe must have come to get her revenge on Annabeth.

After all she was killed by Annabeth. She had even cursed her and was bidding her time for revenge.

But why did she have to come at this time! At this moment? Why were the fates always so cruel on him?

He met Kampe's eyes that were beaming. She looked as horrible as ever. Anger surged through the veins of Percy. He wanted to rip apart Kampe to shreds.

He uncapped riptide and charged at her. She deflected his first blow and squeaked with delight, "Poor Percy Jackson lost his sidekick!" this was her biggest mistake.

"She's my girlfriend, you bitch!" yelled Percy as he brought down riptide with such force that when Kampe tried to meet his blow, her blade broke into pieces. Percy's memory after that was hazy but he remembered hearing the shriek of a demon and then he blacked out.

PIPER'S POV

Piper stood there, staring in awe as Percy fought Kampe. Annabeth had once told her about the demon. Hoe she had only managed to kill the demon without getting herself chopped into pieces. She thought that Percy would alone be no match for her.

She was about to ask Jason to go and help Percy when he yelled, "She's my girlfriend, you bitch!" and attacked with such force that he broke Kampe's blade. Splinters flew all across the room, some even pierced Percy's front.

Percy was so angry that he didn't notice the blood flowing through the deep wounds in his stomach. He then brought down his blade on Kampe and she shrieked as Percy literally sliced her into half. He cut clean through her armour and the last thing the monster saw was Percy's angry face and his deadly arc of sword. Her lower half disintegrated while her upper half fell down on the ground.

Percy dropped his blade on the floor and wobbled to Annabeth. Some parts of the broken blade had even pierced into his leg.

He fell down near Annabeth and lost his consciousness, murmuring something like I love you and I am sorry.

Piper was the first one to react. "Quick!" she shouted at the buys who were staring in awe, "We have to get then to camp as soon as possible. Jason, can you fly Annabeth till camp?"

Jason nodded. He then lifted up Annabeth and flew off.

"Percy's no good either" she realized, "Nico, can you shadow travel him?"

"Yeah!" Nico immediately responded and held Percy's hand tightly, ready to shadow travel.

"I'll see you at the camp with Will" piper told Nico and he disappeared.

When Piper reached camp, Annabeth and Percy were both in the infirmary and were taken care of. Jason saw her first and hugged her tightly, "They're okay" he whispered assuringly in her ears.

It had been a day since they were in camp and neither Annabeth nor Percy had regained consciousness.

She was sitting near Annabeth that evening when Rhea walked in.

"What do you want, Rhea?" scowled Piper.

"I am here to see Percy" she said

"Oh yeah?" said Piper with sarcasm, "Come and take a look"

Rhea sat next to Percy while she held his hand quietly.

Percy was still unconsciousness but he murmured, "Annabeth?"

Rhea shook her head and started to sob. As much as Piper hated Rhea for spoiling her best friend's life, but she couldn't see anyone crying. So she asked, "Why are you crying?"

"It's all my mistake" Rhea said, "All this would have never happened if I wouldn't have been greedy." She sobbed

"Can you explain?" piper asked politely. Rhea nodded and started narrating the story. When she was done narrating the story, she ran out.

Piper had known since the beginning that something was surely wrong but she was unable to understand what. Now the puzzle pieces were coming together in her mind.

ANNABETH'S POV

Annabeth was about to stab herself with her dagger when she saw Kampe near her window. Annabeth had no time to react and Kampe stabbed her in the gut and she passed out.

She woke up in a familiar place with Piper sitting next to her.

"What happened?" she asked, totally hazed, "and why are you grinning?"

"Annabeth!" Piper exclaimed, "Thank gods you are okay" and hugged Annabeth

"Ouch! Watch it girl" she said

"oh, sorry" Piper said, sitting straight

Annabeth looked around and saw….Percy!? "Why is he here" she enquired Piper, "And why is he wrapped in bandages?!"

"Annabeth-" Piper's expressions turned sad, "He was trying to save you"

"Save me?" Annabeth scowled, "Why would he do that? He was the one who left me?" she said as tears gathered in her eyes.

"Annabeth, he was bewitched" Piper spoke, "He always loved and would never leave you"

"Wait, wait" Annabeth cut in, "Bewitched? What do you mean? Tell me the whole story."

Piper told her the whole story and she was dumbstruck. Why had it not hit her before? Percy would never cheat her. SHIT! She thought to herself.
