Chapter 2
As the night progressed more drinking and frivolity continued and passions seemed to get ignited and the night got a bit more interesting. Thus when Hayley walked up to Klaus he fully entertained her.
"I saw you from across the room. You looked alone. So I thought I would come over to see if you wanted to dance," she said flipping her hair while trying to sound sexy. Klaus obliged with a smirk, taking her hand leading her to the dance floor.
As they danced she clung to him as if he was a life perseverer and she was lost at sea trying not to drown. Attempting to get a reaction out of him, she sensually swayed her pressed hips against him. Klaus had to admit that Hayley was a beautiful creature and with all her womanly wiles he could see how she could make other men fall to their knees. However he wasn't an average man easily subdued, at least not by the likes of her. There was only one woman that was beguiling and captivating enough to make him bend a knee and Hayley paled in comparison.
"You see that? Oh boy that move right there is going to cause repercussions," Kol whispered to Rebekah as they stood by the small bar people watching, in particular, Klaus and Hayley, while looking like conspiring children up to no good.
"Yeah, but look over there at Enzo and Bonnie at the table talking all close and hush hush." Rebekah said as she directed his attention to the couple.
…
"Are you ready?" Bonnie asked Enzo as they sat at the table, her eyes not leaving the dancing couple causing her blood pressure to slightly elevate. She was so tempted to set Hayley's dress on fire but she wouldn't give Klaus the pleasure. If he wanted a reaction, he would have to do better, Bonnie contemplated.
"Sure doll, this is your rodeo, I'm just the bull doing my job." He said playfully. He would do anything for her.
Taking his hand in hers, squeezing it softly, she replied, "Well you have always been bull-headed." She laughed, " Seriously, thank you I owe you."
"My pleasure, it's not everyday one gets to see Klaus Mikaelson lose his shit and not lose a head, that is," he joked.
"You know that it's not really like that," Bonnie chuckled, "Just proving a point." Bonnie stated.
"If you say so," he winked.
"Okay, let's do this," Bonnie smiled as she got up pulling Enzo with her, they walked away from the table to their next destination.
…
All night Klaus was waiting for her to make her move and it looked as if she was, he was happy because Hayley was making him want to rip out her throat. After the first dance he parted ways with her only to find that she had found her way next to him again while he was enjoying a conversation with Lucy and Vincent Griffith, the Regent over the witches of the French Quarter.
Next she was conveniently near the restrooms as he came out of the mens bathroom, she claimed that she had just left the ladies bathroom and it was a happy coincidence, but he knew she was stalking him. He had of course done his fair share of stalking prey. He didn't make too much of a deal about it because it was serving his purpose.
When he sauntered back into the ballroom he looked straight at Bonnie who was watching him, so he leaned close to her asking her if she wanted another drink. He lingered close a few seconds then moved away. Hayley had the look of the cat who ate the canary plastered on her face. Bonnie was burning on the inside but she schooled her face with a bright smile. She wouldn't let Klaus know that seeing that bitch hanging all over him was causing her to see red and possibly give her and him an aneurysm or two. No, she was in control..She came to win.
…
"Would you look at those two, for the life of me I can't understand them," Esther huffed.
"Mother don't try." Elijah shook his head in amusement. "They have always been competitive with each other."
"Well I do hope this doesn't end with Klaus dessicated." Mikael mused, but had a smile on his face.
Lucy chuckled, "You guys remember the last time. Hell, I couldn't even find him with a locator spell."
The whole table laughed. "Talking about pranks going bad and failing epically. Your sister can be one mean witch." Kol chimed in thinking of all the times he was on the good side of her shit list.
"Yeah like the time she set your hair on fire." Marcel recalled.
"Hey now that was not funny," he whined causing the table to erupt in laughter again.
"I just hope they don't cause a scandal and no one gets hurt." Esther said soberly. "I really can't understand why they had to do this tonight and at our party with all these people here," Esther questioned.
"Well I can tell you that if Hayley wants to keep her hands attached to her arms she best keep them above the waist." Rebekah added.
"Yeah as if you would be heartbroken about that." Marcel laughed, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"She would fuck a troll if she thought it would elevate her status." Kol scoffed harshly.
Esther chided, "Watch your mouth. Ears." She looked around as if sensing others listening.
"Mother don't worry, Lucy spelled our table so we can speak freely." Elijah informed.
Esther smiled at her daughter in law proudly. "Thank you."
"No worries. I knew that was going to be a necessity, especially with those two running amuck. Everyone knows my money is on Bonnie." Lucy giggled.
"Well I think everyone's money is on Bonnie," agrees Mikeal, "I know mine is." They all laugh.
"No, my bet is on Klaus and watching my dear sister in law's body language it looks like he is in the lead." Elijah said shocking his wife.
"Babe, really?" Lucy exclaimed disbelievingly.
Elijah kissed his wife, "Yes dear, but don't fret, with my haul I will buy you something very pretty," he said soothing her hurt feelings. Lucy smiled brightly.
"You two are sickening," Kol grosed causing the table to erupt again in laughter.
…
The music playing was suited for couples to sweetly dance to and all the Mikaelsons were on the dance floor as well as other guests. Bonnie and Enzo danced and she stealthily watched to see if Klaus was watching, he was but he looked nonplussed by their dancing, which irritated Bonnie.
Whereas Bonnie was getting even more heated. It was time for the next part of her and Enzo walked off the dance floor. Klaus smiled.
The orchestra started playing the tango, just as Bonnie had instructed. Right on time Bonnie thought. The dance floor cleared.
To stunned silence, shocked gasps and giggles, Bonnie emerged on the dance floor with Damon.
The look on Klaus' face bordered on bottled rage and befuddlement. He hadn't expected this move. He hadn't given Damon a thought, even though he knew he was attending the party. To see her with Damon, dancing had him ready to stanch her off the dance floor but the looks from his family and her look of satisfaction stayed him causing him to control his impulses.
Everyone knew, except maybe Katherine, that Damon had wanted Bonnie from the moment she had met him. A brief visit to Mystic Falls to see her grandmother brought her face to face with Damon. He was charming and handsome, but arrogant and had an obsessiveness about him and a selfishness also that turned Bonnie off, plus she had her eyes on a very different prize.
Damon didn't take no for an answer so he followed her to New Orleans and harassed her for weeks with calls, flowers, following her around and just pestering her.
Finally she had Kol and Elijah escort him from New Orleans after giving him a rather nasty hex that lasted seven days, which caused him to only be able to keep animal blood down and nothing else. It was petty, but she had a mean streak and he really got on her nerves.
And now here she was letting that pig touch her glorious body, Klaus thought. Bonnie revelled in the expressions that washed over his face as she danced with Damon. She knew Klaus didn't see this coming. And yeah she was using Damon, but it was worth it. She was basking in the glory of her victory, very pleased with herself.
"Oh Damn, I didn't see that coming," howled Marcel with laughter.
"She totally used Enzo as a diversion, I believe that is checkmate, my love," Lucy beamed.
Elijah just tilted his head to the dance floor and smiled. Lucy turned to witness what just caused another uproar from her family.
Klaus had made his move. He boldly walked out on the dance floor with Camille wearing a very tight low cut red corset gown.
The crowd around the dance floor was shocked to see both couples doing the tango, vying for dominance and trying to outdo each other.
Bonnie instantly figuratively and literally saw red as she saw Klaus with Camille. Her face mirrored Hayley's, but Bonnie continued to dance, slightly missing a step causing Damon to hold on to her tighter. She was so angry that she was about to cause him an aneurysm, but knew that wasn't fair since she was just using him.
Around the room a kaleidoscope of emotions covered the faces of the people in attendance. Many were oblivious, enjoying the drinks and hors d'oeuvres, while others could feel the mounting tension and magic in the air. The lights flickered and some of the flames from the lit candles rose and then settled back down.
Hayley watched. Pissed that Klaus left her to dance with the blonde leaving her to look like an idiot. Katherine wasn't too happy either but Enzo was keeping her company. The other Salvatores as well as Forbes had worried expressions hoping that Damon wasn't going to lose his head and his heart.
The Mikaelsons all stood together, their faces schooled with masks of indifference with crazy thoughts running through their heads.
Mikael knew Klaus would win, but he still thought he might end up dessicated tonight. Oh well, that will teach him not to play games with a witch.
Esther worried that if this game ended bloody no one would ever come to any of their parties again. Damn.
Kol was wondering if he could renege on his wager, he really loved his house in Mykonos. Bloody hell!
Elijah knew Klaus' endgame play, so he was happy he bet on his brother, thinking he would take Lucy to Mykonos before the baby came. He would suggest this trip on the way home to placate his wife. He could tell she was pissed at him! Great idea!
Lucy was thinking of the conversation that she was going to have with her husband on the way home. That ass knew all along and didn't tell her and she wagered her diamond earrings. Damn, Rebekah was going to rub her face in it.
Rebekah and Marcel were thinking of the sexapades they were going to have once they got home since she bet on Klaus and he on Bonnie. The loser does whatever the winner wants sexually so it was win win. Yay! And wearing diamond earrings with nothing else on was icing on the cake!
…
The dance ended and both couples walked off silently. Damon walked a bit too close to Bonnie's ass or so Klaus thought and Camille was holding on to his arm too tightly or so Bonnie thought.
Bonnie knew that Klaus and Camille had a brief thing years ago when he was trying to "find himself". The only thing he found was a wet dick and by all accounts hurt feelings.
Camille couldn't handle his more animalistic, petty ,cruel side and told him that the only way for them to continue was if he would change his ways, like not killing anyone or anything. To his credit he tried, but it didn't last and the next time she heard he killed someone she broke it off, she didn't even give him a chance to explain the circumstances.
Bonnie hated her just because she hurt him. She didn't see that coming and she had to admit it was a superb move. So much so she had to concentrate really hard to control her magic.
"Thank you Damon for the dance," Bonnie said as she started to walk away, but he grabbed her arm to stop her. From across the room Klaus growled.
She looked down and he immediately let go. "What do you want Damon?" Bonnie said irritated.
He stammered, "I..I..was wondering how you've been," he produced lamely since that is not what he was originally about to say.
"Damon it was just a dance. Go attend to your girlfriend. Bye," she said with irritation and finality.
Bonnie walked away going to her family's table now that they were sitting there again.
"Are you alright my dear," Esther asked, watching Bonnie's gaze return to Klaus and Camille.
"Yes," was the only thing she said as she moved from the table.
"Lucy maybe you should follow her or do something." Rebekah whispered.
"No need to, Bonnie is good." Lucy knew her sister wouldn't cause a scene.
Bonnie walked up to Klaus, coming to stand in between him and Camille. As Camille was about to protest, Bonnie growled, Camille stepped back.
"Let's dance," she seductively said, moving her hand slowly from his face, down his chest and taut stomach, hooking her finger in his belt loop pulling him with her. Klaus just smirked willingly following.
Camille and Hayley watched the pair godsmacked.
Klaus held her close, hands low on her hips, making sure she could feel how aroused he was getting. She had her arms around his neck with her face turned towards his, enjoying the feel of their bodies swaying sensually.
"Checkmate, love." Klaus whispered.
"You fight dirty," she whined after chanting a silencing spell around them.
"Well my little wife is very competitive and I believe that is the pot calling the kettle black, love." Klaus teased.
"Well I know my husband very well and I have to keep him on his toes," she teased back.
"Should have known Enzo was the distraction," he chuckled. "However that Damon putting his filthy hands on you was not cool at all," he hissed getting angry just thinking about Damon's hands on her body.
"Calm down Nik. Just like Hayley having her paws on you. At first I did get a bit heated seeing her all over you."
"You know you are my queen and the only woman that can handle me and the only one I want to handle me, love."
"I know and feel the same, but that doesn't mean I like her touching my man." Bonnie said hotly.
"I love my wife, all jealous and ready to fight for me." Klaus teased again.
"You may not like it if you don't get me out of here soon. I might do something naughty." She pouted.
"Well in that case let's not waste that little naughty streak on her or anybody else for that matter. I want you to be naughty with me."
Klaus stopped swaying, pulled away slightly to take her face gently between his hands, leaning close he brushed his lips ever so gently across hers, then he kissed her top lip then her bottom.
Bonnie responded, opening her mouth slightly allowing his tongue entrance, their tongues danced and twirled with and around each other as their kiss became more passionate and urgent.
Klaus grabbed her ass, forgetting they were standing in the middle of the dance floor with a full audience. The only thing saving Bonnie's modesty was the fact she needed air. They separated. Blue eyes bewitching green eyes, the couple only aware of each other.
"No more jealousy games of any kind, love."
"Promise. I love you Mr. Mikaelson," Bonnie beamed up at her handsome husband.
"And I love you, Mrs Mikaelson, now let's get out of here and get naughty," Klaus said with a wink and then lifted her up cradling her in his arms. He walked off the dance floor leaving a lot of people confused by their display.
Not many people knew that Bonnie and Klaus were married, even less knew they were and had been a couple for a long time. But they were very much a couple and very happily married for seven years.
They liked to play games. They were competitive. It was always about the game, but they never let it get between them.
They didn't wear rings, although they had them. They would after tonight since this was apparently their coming out party.
The end...
