PERCY'S POV

He was ready for it, he set the blade against his throat. What was life worth anyways now? He was so angry that he was literally shaking.

He had saved the world twice, was the strongest demigod, had passed the most number of tests and was even better than Hercules. Why were the fates so cruel on him? His eyes were bloodshot. He got ready. He was about to bring down the blade when it flew out of his hands.

What? What just happened? It was as if something had grabbed it out of his hands.

"Don't even think about it." Said a girly voice from behind. Percy turned and saw….

"Havel" he spoke, "What are you doing here?"

"I came to see you" she replied simply, "Frank and Reyna are also here but I wanted to see you alone. Just brother and sister. Tell me what happened. Everything. I want to hear it from you" she spoke as she settled down beside him.

Percy narrated her the whole story. Right from waking up with Annabeth and not knowing anything about his past till the date. Every time he mentioned Annabeth's name, more tears made their way down his cheeks.

After he had narrated the whole story. Hazel spoke softly, "Percy, I know this ain't easy, but death isn't the answer. You don't have to end your life for this." She continued, "You have fought Kronos as well as Gaea and will you commit suicide after all the things you have endured? Will you end this precious life for a heartbreak? Of course Annabeth was perfect for you but she must have her own reasons for her act. You cannot judge her and you cannot end your life like this. If not for yourself, you will live for others. For the sake of this world. What if the world needs you again? We cannot afford to lose the strongest demigod ever."

Percy let that sink in. Hazel had made him realize that this wasn't the end. He had agreed with her words. He could not end it like this! He had to live! He will live. For his friends. For his family. For this world and most of all…. for himself.

He gathered himself up and spoke, "Yeah you're right Hazel" he stood up and straightened, "I, Percy Jackson. Son of the Sea God, swear on the Styx that I will live and defend my near and dear ones till my last breath. I will never ever even think of repeating this cowardly act of suicide. I will live." He stressed on the last three words.

"Okay" Hazel spoke, "I am really happy but what are you going to do now?"

"First of all" Percy replied in a firm tone with a slight sarcastic smile, "I am going to have a bath in the Styx"

ANNABETH'S POV

Annabeth got out of the flight, still thinking about Percy. She hailed a taxi and got to her dad's place.

She reached her dad's place and it was about 5 o clock. She took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. She had managed to control her sobs till then but still felt like shit.

The door opened and she saw her father. He was shocked as well as happy to see her. His shocked expressions immediately turned to happiness, "Annabeth" he spoke

Annabeth tackled him with a bear hug and, unable to control herself, broke down once again. She felt good to have her father with her. After all, he loved her.

"Annabeth" her father asked in a worried tone, "what happened dear? Why are you crying and how come are you hear at this time of the year without notice?"

"I…broke….up….with…Percy" she said between sobs as her father patted her back gently and reassuringly.

He must have had a lot of questions in his mind but he knew better at the time. He took her inside the home and let her settle down on the couch as her step mom helper her with some cookies and hot chocolate.

Her relation with her step mom was good now. She sat on the couch and sipped her cup as her father and step mom sat opposite to her.

"Annabeth" her step mom spoke with amazing gentleness, "Will you please tell us what the story is and what forced you to break up with your dream boy?"

Annabeth nodded and told them the whole story. She tried her best to control her sobs but failed every time she mentioned Percy.

"And then I left camp and headed here" she completed the story

"Annabeth dear" her father said, "That is something really brave on your part"

"But the question is" her step mom continued, "Was it really worth it" her father seemed to agree at her step mom's words.

"I mean as far as I know" her step mom continued, "You two were each other's driving force. What if the main aim of your sacrifice isn't fulfilled? What if all Percy needed was your support? Will he be really able to live without you? Can he bear this?"

"It's too late to change my decision now" Annabeth spoke as she nodded her head, "I will have to accept the future I have chosen. I cannot back up now"

Her parents agreed to her, "But if there is anything you need to talk to us about, we're always there for you, okay?" her mom asked

"Yeah, thanks. Where is my room but the way, I will freshen up"

Her dad showed her to her room as her step mom went to prepare her some snacks. She entered her room and as her dad was leaving, she called to him, "Uh dad?"

"Yes dear" her father replied affectionately

"Thank you for everything" Annabeth spoke, "Thanks for your support" she said as she wiped her tears. She was really touched by her dad and her step mom's support to her.

"We are a family dear" her dad replied with a smile, "And that's what a family does. Now better clean-up, your brothers will be home soon"

Annabeth nodded and he walked downstairs.
