EXT. ROSSI'S BACKYARD - EVENING (Scene 1.5)
Hotch's cell phone buzzes and he pulls it out of his slacks' pocket, peering down at it. It's Strauss. Hotch quietly excused himself and walked out to Rossi's backyard, answering the call.
Hotch: Hotchner.
Strauss begins to talk and Hotch seems to nod along but the audience can't hear details. Back in the dining room, the younger members of the team chat away, but Rossi stays quiet.
He peers over towards Hotch, who's pacing around the courtyard. Rossi absentmindedly nods at whatever quirky statistic Reid had just rattled off. He pushes his chair out and joins Hotch outside
Rossi: Strauss?
Hotch nods and turns back around and continues to listen to Strauss
Hotch: I understand. We'll be there soon.
Hotch ends the phone call and starts to head inside. Rossi easily understood what was going on and followed Hotch back inside. Once inside, Rossi took the initiative to tell the team
Rossi: Sorry guys, we got a case
The team was disappointed to cut their meal short but it came with the territory of their jobs so they understood.
They all stood up and headed outside to their cars, ready to start driving to Qauntico, the scene ends showing several cars driving out of a wealthy neighborhood.
