Hey everyone! Thanks again for reading my story till date. I am really overwhelmed. But I need more reviews. I will not post the next chapter unless and until I get 160 reviews. So, let us start with the story.
Please read the A/N at the end. PLEASE!
PERCY'S POV
Percy hadn't been able to sleep during the night. His mind had been completely wondering about that Ryan thing. Something about the name inflamed his instincts.
He didn't know why, but it was happening. And whenever it happened, it wasn't a good sign. Percy sighed and got up. He checked his wrist watch and giggled.
It won't tell me the time. He thought as he laughed. He checked the wall clock. It read 4:00 am. Thalia had estimated that the Titans will not be here until 10 at least.
Percy decided that he will have some practice. He walked out of his room and went to the ground. He breathed in the air and started to swing riptide.
He had not been out of practice for too long and that was a good thing. Had he been out of shape, the table wouldn't turn out to be good for him.
"He was so good that I sometimes broke my sweat while sparring with him. He was our best swordsman." Reyna had told him about Ryan.
He grew angry and started to practice with an increased pace. If Ryan was so good that Reyna would find it difficult to beat him in a match. Did Percy have any chance against him?
And Percy had seen Reyna fight. She was a really good swordsman. Or woman. Whatever. Percy was lost in his thoughts while swinging his blade when someone interrupted him.
"Looks like our heron can't sleep well when he is anxious" he turned around to see a smiling Reyna.
"Yeah" Percy replied with a sheepish smile.
"Wanna spar?" Rayna asked with an arched eyebrow.
"Only if you want to lose" Percy replied with a smirk, taking his stance.
"Ha" Reyna laughed sarcastically as she unsheathed her sword. They both took their positions and started to spar. Reyna was far better than Percy had thought.
The last time Percy had seen her spar was at camp half-blood during capture the flag. She had given Clarisse a tough competition.
Percy was lost in his thoughts when anger surged through him for no apparent reason. He couldn't lose to Reyna. He had to save Annabeth. How was he supposed to save Annabeth if he couldn't even beat Reyna in practice?
Percy fought with a renewed effort. With a new force. Reyna seemed unaffected with it. She just raised an eyebrow and kept up.
They both were swaying their swords to a lethal dance rhythm. Block. Attack. Parry. Again. Block. Attack. Parry. Percy was bored with the rhythm. He wanted to end it.
So he sidestepped and tried to bring his sword down from the left side. To his surprise, Reyna switched her sword from hand to hand and blocked his attack. She then gave him a hard whirlwind kick right in the chest that sent him flying.
Thanks to the Curse of Achilles. Percy thanked Hazel for encouraging him to not take his life. He got up and attacked. This time, he tried to disarm Reyna with a Greek technique.
She was astounded but didn't lose her grip on the blade. Wow! She was so good. That was the advantage of being the daughter of Bellona. Thought Percy.
He then brought his blade to attack her legs. As expected, she blocked it with her sword. This time Percy punched her hard in the face and she went flying.
Percy hadn't realized that he had punched her too hard until she groaned from pain. Percy rushed to her side, cursing himself. Why did he do this? What had happened?
Percy crouched besides her and helped her up, putting an arm around her waist, which made both of them blush.
Percy let go of her quickly. And said, "Sorry for the punch. I don't know what had happened to me. I am so sorry."
"No way are we going to lose the war" Reyna grinned, causing Percy to smile.
"I will better get my nose cleaned" Reyna said, "It is nearly 7:00 am now"
What?! Percy had not even realized that he was here for three hours.
"Yeah, even I will freshen up" Percy replied and walked towards his room.
How many of them will be there? Will they bring Annabeth with them or will they keep her on their secret base? Thoughts wriggled in and out of Percy's blocked mind.
He was in the shower for nearly half an hour. Then he put on a camp half-blood t shirt, combat pants accompanied with combat boots and walked out of his room for breakfast.
He was greeted by everyone on the way. It felt good to know that there were people behind him, no matter what. But at the same time, Percy felt a burden on his shoulders. A burden of ensuring the well-being of hundreds of millions of live in the world.
Percy sat with Frank, Hazel, Reyna, Jason, Piper, Leo, Calypso and Nico. They all greeted him, but there was a sensible tension in the atmosphere.
After breakfast, Percy walked to an isolated spot and sat in the silence. Fidgeting with Annabeth's dagger.
"You missed her all this long didn't you?" a sweet voice spoke from behind.
Percy turned to find Piper staring into nothingness.
"You missed her but didn't say anything. You were too busy trying to be mad at her for leaving you." Piper sat down beside him, "You were trying to do a thing that was impossible. Even for you"
Percy hadn't realized all this until now. He was really grateful to the gods for blessing him with such friends. Who were like torch bearers in the dark for him.
"Yeah" Percy replied. They both sat there silently. They were later joined by Jason, Calypso and Leo.
