A series of murdered young women brings the team to French Lick， Indiana. Tensions cause friction between two vital team members, but the team works together to successfully find the unsub. Will solving the case solve their personal issues? (Part 1 of "Past, Present, and What if?")

8. Chapter 8

INT. On the Jet - MORNING (Scene 2.1)

The team sits in various spots on the Jet. Reid is playing chess by himself until Hotch clears his throat to grab the team's attention. Reid looks away from his game, Emily looks up at Hotch, Morgan buzzes in Garcia, Rossi is sitting next to Hotch already and JJ slips her cellphone into her pocket.

Hotch: Our six victims are all young women, with a similar body type. Victimology is definitely a key in this case. All the women were relatively young and attractive- other than that they don't seem to have much in common. Prentiss, JJ, you two should meet with the family members. Since there's six victims, it could take a while-

Hotch looks over to address Penelope

Hotch: Garcia, dig up what you can quickly so JJ and Prentiss know what to ask. Also compile a list of sex offenders in the area and see if there's any overlap.

Garcia: I will find every crumb under the sofa of their lives quicker than you can say thank you!

Hotch: Reid, Rossi, go to the M.E.'s office, find out what you can about the murders. Morgan and I will set up with local PD. Apparently we've got an issue with the press.

Hotch looks at JJ as he says that last sentence and JJ nods, already dreading the media circus that a small town with six dead was going to cause. Ugh. The scene ends on JJ.
