ELEVEN
— 4 weeks later —
When I open my eyes a pair of green ones stare back at me. Four weeks we'd been dating now. No official label yet, but I didn't think we needed one.
Alice had accepted she was indeed pregnant. I'd also got around to meeting Jasper who was still yet to find out. He was sweet and I knew he would accept like her.
Work was fun. I'd managed to make enough money to comfortably cover rent. Although I'd been brief with how I was getting money from when I told my father.
As for him he'd managed to scrape up some evidence proving someone had indeed meddled with an external company about his company prior to it failing. As if it had been planned to become fragile. As for who that was it's still up in the air.
Zane was freaking out about fatherhood, but even more so about Lucy, his girlfriend. She had started becoming snappy. He told me he thought he was walking on ice every day. I put it down to pregnancy hormones.
But the best thing to happen these past few weeks was by far these green eyes before me. To wake up beside them was a blessing. I was having the best sex of my life and the feelings I had from him seemed to multiply by thousands each moment I was with him.
"I had a dream," he says, voice slightly husky.
His sex dripping voice on a morning is enough to send my lady parts tingling.
"About what?" I smile moving close to his body.
He wraps his arm around my waist, using his other to prop his head up on his pillow. I cover my chest with the sheets enjoying the feel of his expensive linen on my body.
"You," he whispers, "us."
"What were we doing?" I ask.
"You were saying yes," he closes his eyes as if trying to picture the dream again.
"I think it's too soon to talk about marriage," I laugh.
"To being my girlfriend," he laughs, opening his eyes, "although I have dreamt that one day you might say yes to that too."
"You have quite the imagination," I place my hand on his cheek, rubbing the stubble there.
"I hope to make the dream I just had real," he nudges my hip smiling, "I know it's soon. But I really hope maybe one day the other one too, in all honesty. You make me feel a certain way. No chance could a spark like this exist with anyone else."
"Wait. Seriously?" I sit up holding the sheets to my chest.
"To which part?" He asks.
"Both parts. I think," I say.
He simply nods smiling.
"But let's put the marriage one back on the shelf till later," I laugh, "but I think being your girlfriend could be fun. I guess I have a condition."
"What would that be?" He asks.
"It's simple really. You must try vegemite," I smile, "my brother sent me an Aussie care package of my favourite snacks and he included it."
"Seriously. I've heard it tastes like dick," he groans.
"You've tasted dick?" I raise my eyebrow.
He rolls his eyes and wraps his arm around my torso, before crash tackling me to the mattress, climbing over me. I giggle as he grabs my arms holding them above my head.
"Say yes first," he says, "say yes please."
"What about when I go back home? After my semester," I bite my lip suddenly letting the weight of reality crash on top of us.
"We can work it out. I like you a lot and I'm willing to commit to long distance. I could visit you. Maybe you come back once you graduate," he says.
"Come back? What would I do?" I ask, shocked.
"What you want to," he shrugs.
"My whole life was planned for me. Now I need to choose for myself. I don't know how," I bite my lip.
"Start by saying yea to being my girlfriend. The rest I'll help you figure out and then when you decide I'll support and cheer you on," he says.
"Yes," I nod spreading my legs wrapping them around his waist, pulling on him until he's in line with my opening, "but you gotta try the vegemite. You date an Aussie you gotta be hardcore."
"I know I'm hard… and I want to be in your core," he smirks, pushing inside of me.
Throwing my head back into the pillows I arch, moaning loudly from the instant pleasure.
"Mine," lust drips from his voice, "I've wanted you to be mine the moment I met you."
"I am," I nod.
His thrusts are deep, full and slow. Each one has me gripping the bed sheets around us for something to hold onto. Kisses sprinkle my neck and chest. He sucks on my breasts, nippling my erect nipples. This time is different.
This time he takes his time.
I think he's making love to me. Surely not?
All I know is it's making me fall further for him.
"Baby. You're going to come. I want to make my girlfriend come," he covers my lips with his own, kissing me sweetly.
I moan into his mouth as I clamp down on his length, begging to quiver. The start of my orgasm. When his hand reaches down to rub my clit I pull away to gasp a breathy moan, coming hard. The passion is his movement too much for my body to handle.
"That's it," he whispers, "god, you're beautiful. So beautiful."
"Come," I moan, "please. I want to make my boyfriend come."
He thrusts deep inside me, hard. I cry out.
"Call me that again," he demands.
"Boyfri… oh!" I moan.
God his thrusts are like strikes of thunder. Deep and isolated. It's as if he is making sure each precise one does the job of making me come undone.
"I'm coming," he grunts, beginning to quicken the pace.
He's effective pounding into my body, hard and deep. In and out, like a drill. He pulls out spilling onto my stomach, grunting and jerking from the pleasure.
When he collapses onto the bed, his arms pull me close to his side. I lay on my back completely and utterly spent.
"Let's go do that again in the shower," I whisper.
He laughs loudly, leaning over to kiss me.
"You're the perfect woman for me," he smiles.
"You're basically my sister now," Alice squeals clapping her hands, "I can't believe it."
Edward and I trade a look, amused by her excitement. She had forced us to come bowling with her and Jasper, a double date. Now we were enjoying all the bar down the street had to offer us. But Edward had invited Emmett, Alice invited Rose. So what the bar had to offer wasn't strong enough.
While two of us sat happy, obsessed with one another, our friends were miserable. A pregnancy only three of us knew about (Rose had cried at the prospect of being an Aunty) and another couple who should be together, but aren't. Considering my life fell apart rapidly just weeks ago it felt like the same thing was happening to them but in slow motion.
"We're not getting married, Alice," I laugh.
"I think you will one day. I have good intuition, remember," she shrugs, "and I'll cry and say I brought you together."
"You didn't," Edward smirks, "Bella's groceries did."
"How sweet," Rose smiles.
Emmett watches her with an expression I can't place. Longing? Regret?
"I'll get another round of drinks. Wine, Alice?" Jasper smiles at her.
He was clearly in love with her. I could see it clear as day.
"No," Alice smiles, "water, please babe."
"You haven't drank anything tonight. Are you pregnant or something?" Emmett jokes.
What gives it away, I'm not sure. Rosalie's facial expression, my failure to laugh along with the boys or Alice's attempt to hold back tears.
Jasper notices it all, immediately paling.
"I was going to tell you," she whispers, shaking her head, trying to defuse this bomb.
I lean forward to take her hand, offer her support. Edward notices the gesture and flashes me a look of thanks.
"I can't. I have to go," Jasper shakes his head turning toward the exit.
"Please," Alice stands beginning to race after him but Jasper turns around hand out in a stop motion.
"No," he says simply, tears of fear evident on his face, "just no. I need to think."
Alice covers her mouth, beginning to shake.
"Give me time," he says trying his best to be gentle, while visibly being torn apart.
"Jazz. I love you," she tries to reach out but he is already gone.
Surprisingly out of all of us, Emmett is first to take her in his arms and hold her as she cries.
