TW: Mentions of suicide attempt, and drug usage!
Please enjoy and let me know what you think!
And so, one sip turned into two, three turned into seven and soon enough the vodka bottle was half empty, surrounded by empty plastic bottles of medication canisters.
Peter felt like he was on top of the world- he was flying high, despite the depressant of the alcohol- the stimulant of the pills he had taken was working over time while his body struggled to maintain consciousness.
He was jumpy, tremoring, he couldn't hold the bottle of alcohol in his hands without shaking violently, finally he finished it off and found himself laying on the roof top staring up. At times he would feel on edge, like he couldn't breathe- then he would laugh and giggle and make small but seemingly hilarious jokes to himself. He kept hearing and seeing things that were obviously not there, and every so often his sight would fog in and out.
This was scary- but it was an interesting way to go out.
He felt himself shake more- but then- he felt pressure, a lot of pressure. Like he was being held down. To his horror he looked up to see none other than Tony Stark pinning him to the ground.
A concerned gaze peered into his soul as Peter tried to shrug him off, "Jesus Christ kid, what have you done? KAREN, status on his vitals, quickly."
"Alcohol BAC: 0.23, Peter has ingested ibuprofen, motion sickness and allergy active release tablets, the MGs are shown on your screen. Peter is also suffering from a partially dislocated shoulder, a broken wrist on his left , two broken fingers on his right hand and a fractured wrist on the right arm. Also has a moderate concussion- heart rate is three times faster than normal rates ever recorded for his body type and condition."
Tony wanted to puke, this was bad, no- this was really bad.
Why wasn't the kid healing? Why hadn't he healed at all? And why the hell did he let this kid go home without getting him checked out? Not to mention- what the hell was up with the meds and alcohol- surely he hadn't had the intent to kill himself-
Tony shook his head unbelievably, he dialed for the emergency medical helicopter and for Bruce, and his medical staff to be on board.
Tony's POV 2 hours earlier...
He was trying his damndest not to think about it.
How he scolded Peter for something Tony would have done all the same.
How he should have at least given the kid some credit for trying to do the right thing- anything positive really.
But of course not, he really was just like his father in that regard.
But he didn't want Peter to feel that way, like it or not he knew the kid looked up to him, and although Tony Stark had an inflated ego to begin with- the teen brought him back down to earth. He grounded him to reality, reminded him that there were a lot of things to protect in this world other than just those close to him.
Peter restored Tony's faith in humanity and its future- so why the hell didn't he tell the kid that? Why hadn't he said "you really worried me, everyone's safe, let's teach you how to react to disaster situations" anything but, "I'm taking the suit back forever"
He couldn't get the kids face out of his mind, Tony sighed, finally giving in and looking at the Spider-Man suit.
He instantly saw something was off when he finally focused on it, the spider symbol, it could double as a drone, tracker and health monitor- but where was it?
"KAREN, where is the rest of your system?"
"Hello Mr. Stark, I have departed a small device from my systems in order to make sure Peter Parker heals correctly without need of immediate medical assistance. Babysitter protocol 337 prohibits me from departing Peter Parker when he is injured or upset. The piece will return as soon as his injuries heal."
"Injuries? Shit, KAREN, list the injuries."
"Normally I could Mr. Stark, but the system seems to be offline, it is taking location pings, but I will not be able to update until connected back with the detached device."
"Alright, where's his location?"
"Actually sir, he seems to be five minutes away by car- three minutes by suit."
"What the hell...alright, KAREN download into my suits system for now, we'll go and see what this is about."
"Yes sir."
When Tony had jumped into his suit, the suit immediately gave him his heart rate stats and suggested a mild sedative PRN, Tony declined and set off to the second highest rooftop to his building.
As he landed he cautiously approached Peter, "Stargazing is kind of hard with all the smog kid, mind telling me what your doing-"
As Tony approached Peter closer he caught sight of the medication bottles, the broken alcohol bottle- and a dazed Peter. It was worse then he thought. He knew it was going to be bad but to see Peter in such a state with all the dangerous substances gathered around him, it made Tony sick.
"Shit."
Tony quickly departed from his suit and kneeled next to the shaking, laughing Peter.
"Peter what happened, did you- why did you do this?"
"Sir I do not want to alarm you but the amount and type of pills Peter has ingested will do further damage to his nervous system if action is not taken."
Tony quickly read the stats of what each pill could do in an overdose situation with the amount of milligrams the kid had taken- his stomach dropped. Coma, seizure, death- those stuck out the most.
He kneeled down next to Peter closer and rubbed at his beard nervously, "Peter, what happened? Why?"
Peter looked at Tony like he was a complete stranger, "I have to go home! May is going to fix soup! And I have to make grilled cheese!"
Tony's heart pounded, "Peter, focus, do you know where you are?"
Peter blinked rapidly and shook his head and began to get up, "I have to hurry! I'll be late to the party!"
"No, nope, kid, listen- I'm scared. So please stay still and wait for the medical team to get here."
"I- but I don't want to be on a team! I'm not even good at soccer!"
Tony felt like throwing up all over again, the kid was delusional, shaking violently, couldn't even breathe right.
Soon enough he heard the helicopter and quietly thanked God they were on a big enough rooftop to land the damn thing.
Bruce ran out first, his EMT team right behind him with a stretcher.
"Peter? Tony, give me details." Bruce immediately set off taking vitals and making sure the kid was safe enough to be transported.
His EMT crew also took part in getting him steady and asking questions.
"Peter, do you know what day it is?"
Peter blinked - confused at Bruce, "it's night time I think."
"What is today Peter?"
"It's Saturday!"
Tony and Bruce exchanged a look, it was Thursday.
"Ok, Tony, what has he taken with the alcohol and how much?"
Tony restated the stats KAREN gave him, he watched Bruce visibly pale.
"We need to get him back and secure with the right equipment around in case we need to do any emergency procedures. Let's get him on the helicopter now, I want to see if he can walk so I can determine how his body is metabolizing this."
And so Tony and Bruce helped Peter to his feet, staying very close beside him as they let go to see how he walked.
His walk was unsteady at best, it's like his brain couldn't will his feet forward correctly. He didn't even make it half way to the helicopter before he started shaking so bad his legs gave out.
Bruce and Tony caught him and lifted him onto the helicopter with the help of the two EMTS that had come along. The trip was very short considering it was right across the street thank God, the building was seemingly abandoned but the medical lab hadn't been touched yet thankfully.
Tony and Bruce rushed beside the EMTS as they ran the stretcher to the emergency department. A team of the best doctors in the city were already there on call or break from their respected hospitals across the city.
"We have an overdosed individual, heightened immune system, advanced healing mutation- however, none of that seems active so we need blood and urine tests completed ASAP. We will also need to get his stomach pumped and situate a catheter."
Tony never took his eyes off of Peter as the EMTS hooked him to the basic vital machines first-the medical team discussed the game plan right outside the glass room.
Something wasn't right, a sudden tension and dread filled Tony as Peter looked at him miserably, "I think I did something wrong..."
That's when the seizing started.
