The laptop fell from Peters lap, shattering the screen upon impact once it hit the hard floor. He didn't wince, no hesitation as he went straight towards his room. Tears made their way down Peters face, dropping on his old school t-shirt from years ago.
He knew he didn't have time, but he had to make this right, so he locked his room door and then his bathroom door and desperately looked for anything that could cure his guilt. Nothing, everything had been swept, everything had been meticulously examined just in case this sort of little self destructive driven meltdown happened.
He finally gave in and collapsed on the sink, he looked into the mirror just in front of him and quickly got an awful idea. He knew once he did this he would have even less time as he would alert FRIDAY- which of course would immediately alert Tony.
So with practiced care Peter placed his hand on the bottom half corner of the large mirror and pressed harder and harder until it shifted and cracked underneath the given pressure. He quietly pulled the biggest shard from the cracked up mess and brought it to his forearm as he cried and sobbed, not even trying to hide the absolute sorrow each brought.
"Peter, your vitals are spiking and you seem to have sustained an injury on your right hand and left arm- I am now contacting Mr. Stark. Please hold on Peter." The AI almost sounded...concerned.
it didn't matter though, Peter went up to the fogged one- way- glass that gave him a beautiful tragic last view of the city, it was a giant pane of glass that covered the half the wall so you could just look over the city as you took a bath. This situation was probably the last thing the workers had throughout about when they put this beautiful feature in.
Peter punched through the glass with great effort, cutting up his entire right hand, shards sticking out everywhere. He had secretly tested the other windows in his room already but he figured his assumptions about this one window being the exception were spot on. And sure enough the heavy glass could not withstand three quick punches from Peter. His strength seemed a bit more increased due to the sheer adrenaline he felt.
And so he sat on the windows edge, as he looked back to the once spotless bathroom- now ruined with his excessive bleeding. "This will be the last burden i leave...a life for a life, t-that's all I can do to make this right. I cant, I cant live like this!" Peter screamed out to the bustling city, he was 50 stories up- no one heard him except Tony who charged through the bathroom door and immediately stopped short as he saw the horrific sight.
Peter with a large glass shard buried in his arm, countless thick puddles of blood leading up to a broken Peter sitting on a broken window opening.
"I killed someone Mr. Stark, did you hear?"
Tony's breath was non existent as he secretly touched the underside of his watch to activate an iron man suit to proceed to be under the window if this didn't work out. " Peter, no, you did not kill anyone- those terrorist did. Those evil people that you went after-"
Peter laughed through a gut wrenching sob, "that's bullshit, remember? 'What if someone had died tonight? Different story right? Because that is on you.' That's what you said after it all happened."
Tony's heart felt as if it were imploding as Peter shifted more towards the edge, almost looking more and more comfortable the closer he got to oblivion. "Peter, we can work this out, you did everything that day with the intent to help this city, and who knows what would have happened if you hadn't been there- you will never know how many lives you could have saved. I- I was just scared, you are just a kid and I didn't want you to be near all that danger."
Peter sobbed as he leaned more, he looked pale, his body seemed to be collapsing in on itself as blood gushed from his self inflected wound. "Mr. Stark- Just let me do this... I cant live here like this, I-...cant..."
Tony ran forward, nothing stopped him from lunging for Peter, even though the suit just outside would catch him Tony wanted to catch the kid, and so as Peters eyes rolled back and he passed out falling forward, Tony threw himself across the broken glass and pools of blood, catching Peter right before the rest of his weight followed his legs out the window.
"FRIDAY! Call Bruce now."
The suit that was outside the window came into view and helped Tony raise Peter back into the room and carefully into the large bathtub, the only place glass and blood hadn't landed. Tony held Peter close as Bruce and the medical team rushed into the large bathroom.
"Jesus Christ- Tony?!"
"We're over here Bruce, i-in the bathtub."
Bruce pulled the shower curtain back to see a bleeding, petrified Tony stark rocking back and forth with an unconscious, blood soaked Peter in his arms. "Tony, please let us help him.
"No! No. I am not leaving him alone anymore I cant! I have to be here with him!"
Bruce started carefully, "and you can be here for him- but you know we have to get him to medical and stitch him up."
Tony looked up unbelievably at Bruce as he just then seemed to notice the blood pooling around him in the bathtub, new found tears pooled at the edges of his eyes as he stared down in shock. "b...blood...from-"
And with that Tony fell back, bashing his head against the bathtubs faucet.
Bruce sprung into action, "we are going to need a second stretcher ASAP, get the kid to Med Bay and prep for surgery, possible severed radial artery/multiple lacerations to hand that will need stitches as well."
"Secondary precaution- patient 2 will need to be monitored for concussion and multiple stitched wounds as well. BOTH are to be put on a one to one until further notice."
Bruce felt it was over kill to put both on suicide watch but to see the look of fear and pain in Tony's eyes as he hugged a half dead Peter Parker- Bruce wasn't taking any more chances.
I have been so so sick but I am trying to come back! Promise the next chapter will be longer but let me know how this one tugged at your heart strings!
