The meeting between the Duke of Gloucester and Thor had been attended by no less then three journalists who had all recorded the revelations from the Asgard and splashed them all across the front pages of the human controlled worlds. The British government entered a brief internal debate as they digested the information and decided on how to confirm the information with a direct benefit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. The final decision was to reveal everything that they knew from what Thor had said to the Duke of Gloucester. The annual conference between the leaders of Europe was one of the most important of those vital meetings.
The international reaction to the knowledge that the British were at war with a massive interstellar empire that had the ability to travel between the stars without using the Stargate. The Germans, French, Austro-Hungarians, Byzantines, and Italians all began to enter a period of increasing their relations with the British. For as the Duke of Gloucester had pointed out to an empire that spanned more worlds then humanity had ever seen the Goa'uld would not see borders and atomize the entire planet in their wrath. The Germans entered a period of liberalization as the first SPD government worked with the Liberal government across the North Sea. Prussia changed its antiquated electoral system to a granting one man one vote removing the power that the Junkers had held over the system since its formation. Many of the German states slowly shifted power to their parliaments away from their monarchies and nobles. The Grand Duchy of Elsass-Lothringen from the start has been a strong constitutional monarchy with the liberal views of the House of Orleans seeping into the populace.

The Third Liberal Premiership under David Lloyd-George is mostly seen in the lens of the early Goa'uld war partly since they had only come to power the year before Seth's attack on the Stargate. However, during their first term several major goals of the party passed through the House of Lords and gained Royal Assent. Arguably one of the more important series of acts passed were the 'Representation Acts'. Following the granting of Home Rule to Ireland some in Scotland and Wales began to agitate for limited Home Rule in their homes. The Labour Party under the 'New Windsorian miner' of Ramsay MacDonald threw their support behind the Home Rule movements. The Liberal government needed the support of the Labour party to pass their reforms towards the working class and agreed to the passage of the Home Rule acts. The four acts granted Scotland, Wales, the Greater London Area, and England heavily limited Home Rule over issues that only affected the people of those areas. The central government in Whitehall still had power over the governments in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Birmingham, and the City of London but the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was shifting towards a heavily federal model in preparation for Imperial Federation.
Another major feat of the Liberal government during the early Goa'uld war was their restructuring of the British Colonial policy due to the increasing need for industrial goods as the war with the Goa'uld picked up pace and the worlds integrated were developed. For the majority of the time that Britain had held colonies during the Industrial Revolution and beyond they had focused on developing the home islands rather then their colonies and later Dominions. The 1906 Colonial Conference changed that as New Windsor needed more then what the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland alone could produce. Thus, the Dominions entered into a period of major industrial development with the mines of Australia fuelling the new factories in Melbourne and Sydney as well as those in England and Scotland. The development of the Dominions worked well enough when the British were only developing New Windsor but when the British declared war on the Goa'uld Empire and launched conquests of worlds such as Ùr Albion and Nelson. The Industrial demands outstripped what even the combined Dominions and the United Kingdom could produce. Thus, the Liberal government began to increase funding for industry in their many colonies across the world. The focus of this development was in their southern African colonies. The South African Dominions economies grew massively, and Rhodesia and Nyasaland became the symbols of African development. This would also see the publishment of the at the time controversial Snowden plan which suggested that Rhodesia be Commonwealth status, while Kenya and Uganda united to form an Commonwealth of Kenya, the Arab protectorates be ceded to the Kingdom of the Arabs save for strategic ports to be leased by the British. While the Snowden plan was turned down then it would rear its head in the future as the wrath of the Goa'uld was unleashed upon Earth and the British Empire.

The reconquest of Ùr Albion by Apophis was by all accounts a quick and easy initial assault Neu Leipzig was atomised by the Ha'taks of the invading force but the majority of the population had slipped into the forests of the world. The Jaffa were surprised at the initial lack of resistance as they had expected a force of humans wielding weapons of equal if not better quality to their Staff Weapons instead they found farmers that worshipped them as soldiers of Apophis. The Jaffa settled down as part of a much larger occupation force and the Ha'tak departed to take part in an assault upon Cronus. Then the Guerrilla forces that the British had set up across Ùr Albion activated and started to eliminate the patrols of Jaffa across the planet. While the British had only left the Ùr Albion Guerrillas with their old guns not using plasma they still reaped a high price from the occupying forces. The forests of Ùr Albion became permanently off limits to the Jaffa due to the insurgents lurking within their depths picking off the few patrols the Jaffa sent into the dark forests of Ùr Albion. Ùr Albion soon became a major drain on Apophis as he sent more and more Jaffa to garrison the world only for them to be eliminated by the insurgents. The largest problem that the insurgents faced was a lack of supplies and to that the British gated in once a month to supply them bullets and guns for the long war that Ùr Albion had begun for Apophis.

Nelson would be quickly developed due to its prime status as an immigration area by the British public and also from Europe and America due to the warmth of the planet. The capital city of Horatio has often been compared to Venice as it was built across a small archipelago in the midst of the Sea of Trafalgar, much like how Venice had been raised across a lagoon. The pyramid of Astłik was razed and replaced with an open field so that any attackers coming from the Stargate could be plastered in fire from the British defenders. Nelson soon became a vital revenue stream for the British government due to the popularity of the planet for the rich and powerful to retire to.
