The British initially had restricted themselves to the Stargate addresses found within Ra's cache of Abydos but as the Goa'uld Empire began to hunt the British they branched out to discover if the Goa'uld controlled the entire galaxy. The initial efforts were made using Bra'tac's memories of worlds that he had raided during his time as a Jaffa of Apophis. Those worlds were often poor and in ruinous condition alongside the fact that the Goa'uld knew about them led to the British choosing to not bother with the worlds beyond a cursory scout. In some cases, they established trade links if the planet held resources which were particularly useful for the British but other then that they left the worlds alone.
The first world that the British and their allies found through random dialling was the world of Simarka. Populated by Mongols the society divided into four major tribes that warred over land and women. The society was highly misogynistic with women barred from showing their faces in public and all power vested in the eldest male of the tribe. When the Russian Interstellar Exploratory Team came through the Stargate they were attacked by a force from the largest tribe. Through the Russians slaughtered their attackers the aggression led to them calling reinforcements from the Polish and Lithuanian Interstellar Exploratory Teams. When both of the teams came through the gate they joined the Russians and began to explore the world trying to find any benefits to humanity they could find. They would hit the jackpot some of the survivors from the group that had attacked the Russians ground up an herb that grew on the planet and used it as an anaesthetic. When the Polish Interstellar Exploratory Team used the herb on themselves they realized how powerful it was as a thin coat on their hand removed all feeling from it. When they returned to the Stargate they used it on the only wounded Russian. He lost all the feeling of pain and the forces on the planet immediately sent word back to the British and their allies. The British, Russian, Polish, and Lithuanian governments all entered into a period of negotiations on what they would do with the herb and its anaesthetic effect. The teams returned through the Stargate with a large quantity of the herbs and botanists began to work on the herbs to see where it could grow, and how effective the anaesthetic was. The herb grew best in steppe environments, but it took well to the fields of England and Wales. The decision made was the British purchased the Herb from the governments of the Kingdom of Poland, Second Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and the Russian Empire with each getting £285,000 the price of the Arethusa class light cruiser. The slave that the herb made swiftly became vital to the actions of both the British Army and Royal Stargate Command.

The development of New Windsor following the beginning of the Goa'uld war was primarily military focused, but several new civilian settlements and economic breakthroughs happened during that time. New Avondale became the command centre of Royal Stargate Command on New Windsor pushing the seat of local government to Balfour. Balfour had been growing rapidly and the seat held by Ramsay MacDonald was split into two seats by the election of 1924. The continent to the east of Romanov was occupied by the British military as a training ground for members of the Royal Air Force and Royal Stargate Command. The military base that the continent of Fort Marlborough became the heart of the Imperial military research complex with several major breakthroughs made in the buildings erected in the heart of the continent.
The military development to aside the political influence of New Windsor was rapidly rising and by late 1926 had reached a million half of the population of Wales and voices began to rise demanding the establishment of a government for New Windsor as Scotland, Wales, London, Ireland, and England had. The Labour party threw their support behind the measure and the Liberal government agreed to the establishment of the New Windsor government. The government of New Windsor took after the first governments of Dublin and Connaught and was a Labour government reflecting the strength that the Labour party had in New Windsor which to this day is seen as a vital stronghold of the Labour party alongside Australia.

The first strike of Hathor in her demented rise was the murder of the leader of the Yucatan garrison. The spies that Hathor had sent forth from her temple in the heart of the jungle had been spreading the reactionary, Maya focused views that Hathor had chosen to adopt among the populace. The views were adopted by many of the Maya population and the population was divided between the native Maya and the Hispanic people. The tension was growing especially with the increased military presence in the region and it exploded on the 25th of March 1927. The commander of the Yucatan garrison one Guillen Genevevo Rivas was walking down the streets of Mérida when a young Maya man walked up to him and shot three times in the chest and twice in the head. The shooter was taken down, but the damage was already done Guillen Genevevo Rivas bleed out in the streets of Mérida. The military reaction was immediate crackdown which only inflamed the local population allowing the views of Hathor to spread among the population further radicalizing them to the views that she espoused. By late May the population was on the verge of revolt the military had enacted martial law but the Cristero rebels to the north were drawing large parts of the Yucatan Garrison to the north forcing them to be even more oppressive to the people. The revolt began when Hathor ordered a march on Mérida gathering all the forces she had available she marched north from the Belize border defeating several detached forces from the Mexican garrison. When they reached the outskirts of Mérida the garrison forces were outflanked by the Maya population of the city. The majority of the garrison fell under the control of Hathor but those few who refused were punished brutally. The leader of the soldiers who refused to bow to Hathor was flayed alive and impaled into the walls of the Templo de San Juan de Dios. The madness of Hathor's reign had begun Mexico would burn and the first spark was lit in Yucatan.
