Trish's condo, Saturday

"How do I look?" Matthew wondered as he walked into his parent's bedroom, clad in his suit.

"Looking sharp, son," Harm said with a smile as he tried to straighten his bow tie.

The door to the bathroom opened, and Mac stepped into the bedroom. "My two handsome men."

Harm and Matthew both turned. "Wow, you look amazing," Harm said as he took her in. She was dressed in a coral ankle-length dress that fit her body perfectly. It showed enough cleavage to get his blood boiling but not too inappropriate. A split up the thigh showed her slender leg. He did have a spectacular wife.

"And you look handsome in that tux," she complimented. "Not to mention this guy," she walked over to Matthew. "You look so handsome."

"Thanks, mom," Matthew smiled.

"Is everyone ready?" Harm wondered.

"Yeah, grandma told me to go get the two of you," Matthew motioned for the door. "Come on."

Harm reached for his wife's hand. "You really do look beautiful, Sarah." He leaned in and kissed her softly.

"Thank you," she smiled and kissed him again. "Are you ready for this?"

"I am," he confirmed.

They headed downstairs and found the rest of the family waiting. Nathan, Eve and Sofia had arrived the previous day. It had been good to get caught up again. The family was gathered.

Later

The church was filled with their closest friends and family. Alex had taken his place by the altar and was anxiously waiting for his bride. Mac watched as the church doors opened and Mattie, led by Tom and Harm, walked down the aisle. Mattie looked beautiful, and there was no way to judge who of the fathers were most proud at the moment. Harm's eyes locked with Mac's, and she smiled sweetly. He did look handsome in his tuxedo.

Harm kissed Mattie's cheek and stepped away from her. He took his wife's hand in his.

Mac could see that he was emotional, so she squeezed his hand. Harm wasn't the best at showing emotion, but when he did, it left no doubt to the people closest to him how much he loved them.

It was a beautiful ceremony.

"Well, she's married now," Harm said as they walked out of the church. "It wasn't that long ago that she was a confused and angry teenager, and I had no idea what I was doing taking her in."

Mac smiled. "It worked out great for both of you."

Harm nodded as they stopped and watched the happy couple. "I'm so proud of her."

"I am, too," Mac said with emotion.

Later

Mattie walked up to her parents. It had been an emotional day. Especially all the speeches had been emotional for her. She was lucky to have so many people caring about her.

"Are you guys sneaking away?" Mac wondered.

"Yes, I'm exhausted. And we have an early plane," Mattie said with a sweet smile. "Thanks for today and everything. This would not have run so smoothly if it hadn't been for all your hard work."

"We were happy to help," Harm reassured.

"I can't believe you're married," Mac said and hugged her daughter close. "Have fun on the honeymoon."

"I can't wait to lay by the pool all day long for a week," Mattie said as she released her mother and hugged her father. "Thanks, Dad."

"I'm proud of you, kiddo," Harm said and hugged Mattie close.

They talked for a while then Mattie and Alex snuck away. The party was winding down.

It had been an emotional day; Mac decided as she looked around for their kids. The wedding had been beautiful. There had been so many emotional speeches from both sides of the families, and Nathan and Claire had held a particularly emotional speech to their sister before performing one of Mattie's favorite songs.

"Do you want to get out of here?"

Mac turned to her husband. "Yeah, we better get the kids home. Uncle Matt too. And Trish looks tired."

Harm put his hand on the small of her back. "I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow and to spend the day at the beach."

"That sounds amazing," Mac agreed. "Mind if I join you?"

"It wouldn't be any fun without you," he winked at her before leaning in to kiss her softly.

"Parents," Nathan walked up to them. "I'm leaving."

"Do you need a ride back to the hotel?" Mac wondered. Eve and Sophia had left earlier in the night.

"No, I'll take a cab," Nathan reassured. "I just wanted to say goodbye. It was great seeing you guys, even just for a short time."

Mac hugged her son. "We miss you," she whispered.

"I miss you guys too," Nathan said and released his mother. He got a hug from his father too. "We'll talk soon."

"We love you, son," Harm said.

"I love you too," Nathan said and kissed his mother's cheek. "Don't worry too much, Mom."

"I can't promise that," Mac said with a sheepish smile.

Nathan chuckled. "Bye."

Harm took his wife's hand. "Let's gather the troops."

The next day

Harm leaned back in his sunchair and sipped his cold drink. It had been a relaxing day. They'd slept in late, been to the beach, and now they were enjoying the rest of the day on his mother's balcony. Harm peeked over to where his wife and his mother were sitting indulged in their books.

"How about I fire up that grill?" Uncle Matt wondered as he joined them on the balcony.

"Food sounds good," Mac agreed.

"But Matt, you are a guest," Trish pointed out. "I'm sure Harm can fire up the grill."

"Because I'm not a guest?" Harm wondered with amusement.

"Just do as your mother tells you to," Trish said.

"Yes, ma'am," Harm stood.

"I'll prepare everything else," Trish said and started to stand.

"Why don't you let Harm and me do the cooking?" Mac suggested as she stood. "You guys relax."

Trish smiled. "Thank you, Sarah."

Matt got comfortable. "That sounds good."

Mac smiled. "Come on," she took her husband's hand in hers.

Together they went to the kitchen where Harm found the meat and vegetables and disappeared out on the balcony again. Mac started with the salad. Kelly and Rose came to help while Matthew disappeared out on the balcony.

"Mom, do we really have to leave? I mean, the beach is right there," Kelly pointed towards the balcony. "There's no snow either."

"I like snow," Rose said. "What's winter without snow?"

"I agree that this place is amazing, but DC is home. And snow has its moments," Mac pointed out.

"I don't know, Mom. I think I'll end up going to college someplace like this," Kelly said dreamily.

Mac smiled. "You still have a few years until you have to make a decision."

"I'm never leaving home," Rose declared. "I can't imagine living anywhere else."

"You'll stay and take care of me when I'm old then?" Mac suggested.

"Of course," Rose promised.

"Good to know," Mac smiled warmly.

"I'll come to visit often," Kelly promised.

Mac laughed softly. "So girls, let's get the table set, huh?"

"I'm on it," Kelly said and grabbed the stack of plates. "You take the glasses and silverware, Rose."

"Got it," Rose said and followed her sister.

Later

Harm peaked out on the balcony and saw his wife standing by the railing looking out over the ocean. She looked thoughtful, he decided. He stepped out on the balcony and walked over to her.

Mac turned and smiled. "Hi there."

"Hi," he smiled and leaned in and kissed her softly. "What are you doing?"

"Just enjoying the night." She smiled softly and motioned for the beach. "It's beautiful."

"You know, I always imagined that if I were to settle down, I'd live in a place like this," he admitted as he leaned on the railing.

"If you were to settle down?" she questioned with amusement.

"Well, I wasn't always marriage material, you know," he said with laughter.

"I remember, Mr. I just wanna fly really fast airplanes." She nudged his shoulder with hers.

"That was me," he agreed.

"You really wanted to live here?" she wondered.

"I did. But we were settled in DC by the time I retired, so it made sense to stay there. I don't regret that" he reassured.

"Good to know." Her eyes found his eyes, and they shared sweet smiles.

"Did you ever imagined your life anywhere else?" he wondered.

She thought about it. "I don't know. I never really had a bond to anywhere. My hometown wasn't really a place I missed after I left. I guess for me; it's not about the location but the people I'm there with. I was happy in London, in Florida, and I'm happy in DC."

Harm turned fully to her. "Prepare yourself; I'm going to be romantic now." He smiled and took her hand. "I'm happy as long as you are with me. I love you, Sarah."

"I like it when you get all mushy," she said and smiled teasingly. "I love you too, Harm." She leaned in and kissed him deeply.

THE END.. for now...
