The capture of Amaterasu by the Japanese and her announcement on the religious status of the Emperor calmed down the tense situation but many of the high-ranking Jaffa that Amaterasu had brought with her held vital information to the United Empire and humanity as a whole. Amaterasu had brought back some of her top scientists and their knowledge in several major fields was desperately required by the British in their work on the loot from Kimberly. The British had been trying to develop a drive that could work in space besides the Death Gliders engines, so the Jaffa engineers were a god send. Their knowledge proved the basis of Project Orion as the British government began to contact their allies to secure the funding for what would become the largest international project in Human history. In the depths of the Australian Outback workers and scientists across the world began to build a massive project it would take until 1940 for it to be finished but construction of the HIS Orion had begun. The majority of the information was drawn from the Jaffa academics of Amaterasu, but several humans worked in the high ranks with the information that they had gleaned from their studies of Kimberly.

The collapse of the monarchist front and the flight of their leadership to the Canary Islands gave much needed legitimacy to the Spanish Republic and they turned their attention to the Carlists in the north. The Republicans offered a compromise to the Carlists in that they would allow all Carlist claimants to live in Spain but that was it. The Carlists unsurprisingly laughed the Republicans out. The refusal of the Republican comprise came at a bad time as Zaragoza had fallen to the Carlists and the Republican Army of the North was trapped along the border with Aragon. The Carlists managed to wipe out the force by the 7th of September and the north lay open to the Carlist advances. As they marched south the Carlists began to purge the more radical partisans that they found. Several mass graves have been found with the corpses of Communist Partisans being thrown in one case by the hundreds. The Carlists dug in along the border with Aragon and managed to beat back to Republican offensives before winter set in.
The dissonance between the complete victory in the south and the decisive defeats in the north weakened the support for the government and many moderates found the propaganda focused around the death of Alphonse Charles I distasteful. The weakening power of the government was only empowered by the rising power of radical groups with both communists and reactionaries fighting against the Republican government. The Republicans launched an anti-partisan campaign over the winter so they could focus their full force against the Carlists not that they achieved much in said campaign. The Partisans were often working closely with the locals and were often warned ahead of time if a Republican patrol was launched.
The death of King Alphonse Charles I in late 1932 was a deeply sad event in the areas under Carlist control especially as he had no clear heir. The majority of the Regency Council supported his nephew Prince Xavier of Bourbon-Parma as king though some supported Alfonso XII or Archduke Karl Pius of Austria, Prince of Tuscany. The supporters of Prince Xavier managed to find the will of the late King in which he named his heir. With that on their side alongside numbers the Regency Council named Prince Xavier of Bourbon-Parma as King Xavier the first of Spain. The death of two Carlist calamints within two years was worrying to some but King Xavier would live a long life unlike his foes in the House of Bourbon.

The Fall of Zaragoza
The Carlist Government today has announced the fall of Zaragoza to their forces. The Republican paramilitaries that had first sized the city proved no match to the Carlist forces. After several hours of fighting the Carlists managed to take the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar and even now the Cross of Burgundy hangs from the church. As the people of the city stare the Carlist men that seized the city march down the streets with their banners and heads held high. The fall of the city leaves the Republican held north open to the Carlist forces allowing the government of Xavier I to sweep south towards Madrid if they so desire.
The Fall of Madrid
The Spanish capital has fallen to the Carlist forces advancing from the north for several days. The Republicans forces fought a spirited defence with house turning into fortress but against the fanaticism of the Carlists their sprit proved worthless. The President and other major members of the Republican government managed to evacuate south before the city fell and even now are attempting to rally their troops to retake the city. Xavier I has become the first Carlist claimant to be crowned as King in Madrid and the legitimacy of his rule has only been strengthened by his coronation. As Carlist troops march in front of the Royal Palace saluting Xavier I and the Cross of Burgundy the people of Madrid know only one thing the Carlists are here and the Cross of Burgundy will cover all of Spain.
The Fall of Seville
The unstoppable Carlist advance continues with the fall of Seville to the forces bearing the Cross of Burgundy. The Republican defenders were broken across the city and have fled to the south pursued by the unresting Carlists. The Republican Government which had fled to the city has gone missing and many fear for their lives as the Carlists unleash their purge against any that display disloyalty to King Xavier I. The remaining Republican strongholds are on the verge of collapse as their morale declines after losing battle after battle and many wonder how long the Spanish government can hold out against the Carlist rampage. The majority of Spain now lives under Carlist control and it seems that they are on the verge of victory.
Carlists Victorious in the Spanish Collapse!
King Xavier I of Spain has today released a communique announcing the collapse of all resistance to the Carlist regime and the unification of Spain under the Cross of Burgundy. Churches across the nation have been filled with services praising the soldiers of Christ and King. The Monarchist government in exile has denounced the regime as a group of illegitimate pretenders but several major world powers have recognized the Kingdom of Spain under Xavier I. The new government has acknowledged the Kingdom of Galicia, the Second Kingdom of Aragon, and the Italian Annexation of the Balearic Islands seemingly brining peace to Spain. Xavier I has called for a Convention in Madrid on the future of the nation but no matter the choice they make the Cross of Burgundy has arisen over Spain.
