The collapse of the alliance between Cronus and Lord Yu allowed the already powerful Heru'ur to expand his hold across the galaxy and then he ran into the forces of Sokar. The first battle between Heru'ur and Sokar was a slaughter for Heru'ur the Jaffa he had sent to take the world were torn apart by the Unas and the Ha'tak Heru'ur had sent to take the world's orbit was crushed by Sokar's. The collapse of Heru'ur's offensive allowed Sokar to conquer a large swathe of planets and establish a new Goa'uld state. On the world of Habimia Sokar made his change the few system lords that he had capture or pledged were forced to kneel before him as took on the title that would terrorize the Goa'uld. Ra and the System Lords waging war to be his heir had used the title of Supreme System Lord, but Sokar decided to carve a new title. All around him the System Lords that he had captured were burnt alive and their bones used to forge a crown as he was coronated as the Emperor of the Goa'uld many believe that the title of Emperor came to him from the British operations against Apophis and he had decided to adopt it for some strange reason.

The actions of the allies following the appearance of Sokar was when they first heard about the new Goa'uld Emperor ambivalence he was slaughtering Goa'uld and extending the war so why should they care. Then IIET-1 stumbled onto a world that he was attacking and saw hell. Across the planet Unas hunted down the occupying Jaffa and threw them into bonfires when they were caught. Tolkien ordered that as many civilians as possible be evacuated and managed to save around a thousand refuges before the Unas caught wind of them. Tolkien was forced to withdraw and his report on the horrors of the Unas and Sokar's occupation terrified the allies. Suggestions to create an alliance with Sokar were immediately shelved though despite Tolkien's suggestion they were not burnt but the allied leaders unanimously agreed to fight against Sokar with everything that they had available. The tales of entire towns put to the sword and families being eaten alive were splashed across the dossiers released in the weekly status report to the press. The amount of interviews that the refuges that Tolkien had managed to save gave was more then enough for people to build up a monstrous image of Sokar which is not wrong but it almost defiantly led to the perception that he was the worst Goa'uld by far which several historians have debunked.

The defeat of the Republican counter offensive destroyed what little support there was for the Republican leadership and by October the Republican forces were at each other's throats the only thing keeping the edifice from falling was President Niceto Alcalá-Zamora. Thus, when he died the entire regime collapsed. His cause of death is widely disputed but I have always been of the believe that his trip on the stairs was from shock not an assassination attempt as some claim. Despite the controversy he died with a broken neck on the stairs of Santa Marina Cordoba and the Spanish Republic collapsed into ruin.
As the news of his death spread out the already tense conflicts turned violent. Communists shoot their enemies in the streets while anarchists bombed train stations to kill a single 'reactionary' the entire facade of unity crumbled down. As the Spanish Republic tore itself apart the last remnants of the Republican military loyal to the central government stormed the church used as the parliament of the Spanish Republic and forced the assembled leaders to announce the dissolution of the Spanish Republic and its replacement with the Provisional Government of the Spanish State. The majority of the people who heard the message only heard the first part dissolving the Republic and those few who heard the second part knew it for what it was a military government. Both the radicals and moderates choose to take the chance to seize power for themselves as the news set in. The first group to declare a new state was the Communists with the formation of the Revolutionary State of Spain from Sevilla following that everything else collapsed. The Anarchists declared the United Communes of the Iberian Peninsula and seized large parts of the southern coast of Spain. The Reactionaries and Nationalists declared the Spanish State around Cordoba though they were unable to take the city itself. Every possible ideology took a town as the Republic collapsed and the one work that lists them all is a PHD in of itself however some of the notable ones were the Second Sultanate of Granada which consisted of thirty Muslims with guns seizing a town for day before being crushed, the Federal Spanish Empire which claimed the entity of the defunct Spanish Empire which was in reality twenty men with shovels that claimed a church and then were killed by a group of communists, and of course the as historians have termed the Kakistocracy of Lepe when a group of illiterate morons managed to take power for a day by brandishing an unloaded rifle towards the mayor. To the Carlists the collapse of the Republic was a perfect opportunity and forces across the front began to advance against little resistance the only place where the Carlists actually faced a challenge was their attack on Madrid.
The early Battle of Madrid is by far the most defining aspect of the battle as the core of the Carlists armies advanced to capture the capital of a unified Spain they faced stiff resistance from the local population. This is best shown in the famous Madrid speech by Dolores Ibárruri a proud member of the Communist party her speech has been noted as one of the most influential speeches in both Spanish and Communist History. The speech would represent the spirit of the battle where every building was a battleground every church a stronghold and the Royal Palace a campaign the entire battle is the bloodiest battle in Spanish history with over sixty thousand men being killed in the battle.

Comrades of the revolution we are surrounded by the Carlist Reactionaries we are outnumbered and have seemingly no chance to defeat them. However, the Revolution lives forever, and the Revolution shall not be crushed for the spirit of the working class is unconquerable and cannot be crushed no matter the force applied. Hold the line comrades protect the blood red banner for if it survives here we can bear the blood red banner across Spain. Madrid will stand now and forever more against the reactionary dogs. For they shall not pass! MADRID STANDS!
