The phrase Britannia Rules the Waves had really taken on a new phase following the Stargate. With the British holding the ability to develop entire worlds for farming or industrial manufacturing their reliance on trade lines was cut and when they developed their monopoly on plasma weapons no fleet could stand against them as their intervention in the Balkan War showed. The major competitors to the British Empire allied with them purely due to the British now dominating the naval scene even more then before. Alongside their aerial supremacy the idea of fighting against the British Empire became little more than geopolitical suicide. However, when the Goa'uld war rolled around the world began to question the importance of navies if the Goa'uld and other threats could just atomize entire fleets from orbit. So, the world turned to developing new ideas while the British focused on making their guns powerful to reach orbit the Americans and others looked down avenues that had not been explored. When the first Aircraft Carrier was commissioned as the USS Theodore Roosevelt most of the world immediately began to develop their own with the German Empire launching the SMS Wilhelm II in 1935. As the Germans, French, Japanese, Italians, Russians, and Hellenes all developed Aircraft Carriers the United Empire saw both no need or want and for good reason. Death Gliders were able to circumnavigate Earth in around ten minutes at their fastest speed and the massive spread of the United Empire allowed them to base Death Gliders on nearly every island and outpost. The British objectively did not need Aircraft Carriers but that did not stop the Admiralty from trying the plans drafted for the King George class Aircraft Carriers would have costed well over three million pounds. The plans were turned down even with the highly influential Keynes supporting the idea and the King George class was shelved permanently.

The fall of the Empire of Brazil in 1889 to a coup had been controversial to some and many still wished for its return. By 1934 it seemed that the dream was dead, and the majority of monarchists resigned themselves to failure and then the Third Republic collapsed. The formation of the French Federation and the restoration of the House of Orleans and House of Bonaparte to the French throne reinvigorated monarchists everywhere and in Brazil many saw it as their chance. The Republic was not particularly stable and the collapse of Argentina following the British abandonment trad with the state had made many Brazilians unsupportive of the seeming fragility of Republics. The Monarchists seized on the chance and began massive campaigns to demand a referendum on restoration the leaders of the Republic took this movement poorly and attempted to pass a law illegalizing the campaign. The bill was defeated, and the American and British ambassadors told them to never try that again. With the failure of the bill the monarchist movement grew and the demands for a referendum where met following the Imperial Navy's South Atlantic detachment paying a visit to Rio De Janeiro. The Referendum was held on the 1st of December 1934 and despite the hopes of the government the vote to restore the Brazilian Monarchy passed with 56% of the vote supporting placing Pedro de Alcântara, Prince of Grão-Pará on the throne. The United States of Brazil was formally dissolved at midnight on the 31st of December and Second Brazilian Empire was born. The new Emperor Pedro III ascended to the throne at great support with George V, Luis II, Napoleon VI, Jean III, Wilhelm III, Michael II, Irakli I, Ali I, and Hirohito attending personally. The waves of restoration were spreading further, and Pedro III was a rock being thrown into the already disturbed pool.

By 1935 the British had developed a theory that there had been a great race of human looking alien's prior that had developed the Stargate. The vast majority of the evidence for this came from the hologram that the first scouting mission to New Windsor had used to get back home though Amaterasu had confirmed that the Goa'uld had not built the Stargates. The first time that the British found another clue to their theory was when IIET-1 stumbled into a world that had only a black room with a circle in the middle. Tolkien would walk through the circle prompting the Repository of knowledge that was embedded in the wall to appear. Tolkien being Tolkien he looked into it and his Ancient Technology Gene activated the device. As the collected knowledge of the Alternans was downloaded into his brain the remainder of IIET-1 tried to free him from his predicament it all failed, and the device released him in its own time. He was dragged back through the Stargate even when conscious and deposited in the military hospital that he spent a lot of time in for a check-up. At first everything seemed normal then he slowly began to speak in an at the time unknown language. IIET-1 normally relied on Tolkien for anything vaguely related to languages so Imperial Stargate Command had to drag the higher ups of the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology & Phonetics from Oxford University to understand him. The cluster of academics followed Tolkien across the hospital debating with him on whether or not Goa'uld could be counted as the root for Arabic and translating the words he replaced with Alternan. Despite the best work of the doctors of Imperial Stargate Command he slowly got worse and not even the Sarcophagus they had for emergencies worked on him.

As he got worse he began to sketch a rudimentary power device which Jolinar and Amaterasu had never seen before. Imperial Stargate Command decided to let him build it since there was potential use for all the spare parts they had lying around. As everything that Tolkien did was heavily documented at this time Imperial Stargate Command would not miss anything. After around a day of work his power source was completed and he walked off to attach it to the Stargate. As he hooked it up to the DHD the British researchers in the background often say that it was one of the happiest moments of their career. As he dialled the Asgard homeworld the majority of the onlookers held debates on what the eight symbols meant then when he walked through the gate with Sigurður Steelfangs and Bra'tac several bets were laid. When he arrived at his destination in the Ida galaxy the surprised Asgard healed him quickly and gave him a message to relay back to Imperial Stargate Command. The message was as follows 'The Jackal is stirring.'.
