The restoration of the Georgian monarchy gave birth to a trend in the Russian Empire of establishing local monarchies for the federal states of the Empire. Tsar Michael II offered the title of monarch of the central Asian, Caucasus, and Siberian states to the local nobility while the Russian, Ukrainian, and Belorussian states all got cadet branches of the House of Romanov or young European princes. The establishment of local monarchies was met with distaste in the halls of the Russian Nationalists and the few Republicans spread across Russia but most of the people looked on it favourably. The establishment of local monarchs led to a cultural renewal across Russia as the new Monarchs made their lands unique with Ukrainian and Belorussian undergoing a massive lingual renewal. King Vasyli I of Ukraine even spoke purely in Ukrainian when in his dominions which irritated the agents of the Tsar when they visited him.

Religion following the discovery of the Goa'uld and Asgard was an interesting beast to say the least. The Japanese took the route of making Amaterasu the vessel of 'the Amaterasu' but that could not work for everyone. The Catholic and Anglican Churches when they discovered that Sokar took on the image of the devil were able to say that he was the devil in Goa'uld flesh but the Asgard proved a tricker problem. The singing of the Treaty of New Windsor in 1936 meant that humanity was allied to the Asgard so the traditional hatred towards the 'pagan idols' that some of the more traditional members of the church had advocated against. John XXII decided to take an interesting path and declared that Christ came in many paths and that he loves all firmly establishing his position as the most liberal Pope by far. The statement from John XXII led to the small pagan groups in the Roman Catholic regions of the world to start acting more openly most notably in the Mayan Republic.
The expelling and death of the majority of the Spanish population of the new Republic during Hathor's reign had allowed a Mayan renaissance in every sense of the word. Alongside the revival of the Mayan language the Mayan religion was reborn from the ashes of the Spanish rampage. Many churches were converted to temples for their reborn faith though human sacrifice was outlawed it was quite common to sacrifice a cow or sheep to the gods. The rebirth of the Mayan religion was similar to what was happening in Norway and Iceland with the ancient Nordic faith that the Wulfen had kept to over the millennia.
The first Wulfen to move to Norway was a single family of three when Haakon VII invited them to Oslo as part of a cultural renewal project. Since the language spoken by the Wulfen was to the Norwegians an old dialect and to Icelanders Icelandic with a weird accent the Wulfen were able to explain how their society worked. As the Wulfen walked around Oslo explaining their views to the Royal Guard and whoever talked to them their simple lifestyle and piety attracted many and the first Nordic temple was granted permission to be raised outside Oslo in 1935. As Sir Nils Olav I howled to the heavens to consecrate the temple the character of Scandinavia was changed forever.

The edges of Goa'uld controlled space had long been a dangerous place for any ships to venture and the War of Ra's Succession had only increased this with entire convoys going missing from raiding. As the war continued into the later half of 1935 a new phenomenon began to grace the western edge of the galaxy. Trade convoys and warships began to go missing with a single clue that they had even passed through that way. That clue of course was the corpses of the crews of the ships drifting in space with no clear wounds or well anything that could kill them save the lack of oxygen. As these attacks grew more frequent and extended across the galaxy the already collapsed Goa'uld logistics simply got worse. Trade withered and the few factory worlds of the Goa'uld grew silent as the resources they depended upon ceased to be shipped to them. Cronus was the first to feel more then the pinch when his flagship and command flotilla was lost due to its lack of repair and restocking. The destruction of his flagship by Lord Yu and the breakthrough that followed crippled Cronus's ability to wage war with entire armies lost in movement between planets. Then the first last and only clue of who was committing the raids were found. Lord Yu's fleet would drop out of hyperspace at the site of the most recent raid by accident and found seared on every single corpse a snarling Jackal's head. When Lord Yu heard the news, he fainted, and his First Prime took temporary control for the first of many times. When Lord Yu recovered from his health problems he ordered the withdrawal from all worlds without Stargates and only using the Stargate to travel and trade. The move was met with concern by some, but the traditional Goa'uld negotiation tactic of a staff weapon pointed at the head convinced the reluctant System Lords to follow the commands of Lord Yu in this case. The first signs of the Jackal had been found across the stars the signs would soon spread.

The idea of the Treaty of New Windsor had been in the minds of both the Asgard and humanity for several years before it was undertaken but the trip of Tolkien to the Ida galaxy allowed much swifter communication between the two. The first ambassador to the Asgard was Sir. Ronald Lindsay and he opened up the initial negotiation between the two powers on a potential alliance against the Goa'uld Empire. The negotiations took up the entirety of the later half of the human year of 1935 as the British ironed out the details and trade benefits to the Asgard and the military protection from the Goa'uld.
