When we think of the technology that New Windsor alone brought to humanity we will first think of plasma weapons and Death Gliders but there were several other technologies that we gained from mankind's second world. One of most important was atomic theory being thrown decades ahead. The Alteran computer showed the atomic structure of whatever material was put in a certain slot allowing theorists to develop their knowledge. As they expanded their knowledge from the incredible amount of knowledge and power the Alteran's had left on New Windsor several doors were opened. The most important of these was the door that held the knowledge of nuclear weaponry. Several major physicists would find the writings of the Alteran's on nuclear fission and the destructive optional it held. This discovery in late 1928 was met with reasonable interest from the British government forming a well-funded research group on Fort Marlborough to find any potential military uses. The Tube Alloys project as it was called trundled along for several years until the Battle of Earth. The destruction that the Ha'taks had caused and the fact that it had taken the Home Fleet to bring down weakened shields led to the United Empire looking for more powerful weapons and that meant that the Tube Alloys project got far more funding and it seemed that Lion might soon roar.

The first ambassador to the Asgard had only gotten to the Ida galaxy through the use of a at the time incredibly advanced power generation device made by Tolkien which was a technological predecessor to the Zero Point Modules used by the Ancient's. Of course, the devices were not only used to travel to other galaxies by 1937 the United Empire was powered solely by the devices or as they became known Tolkien's Matches. The mass use of Tolkien's Matches did hurt several industries with the Coal industry in particular collapsing which crippled the Welsh economy. While not as bad as the Hooverian depression the Welsh economy did enter a recession, which allowed the Labour party to win control of the local government. The Imperial election of 1939 had a swing towards Labour across the board based partly off the collapse of the coal industry across the United Empire. The rise of Labour led to the foundation of the Imperial Health Union when the Labour party managed to force it through Parliament with support from the Conservatives and the Liberals.

The trial of the Nanchang Clique was a grand affair due to the hatred to the Qing government of any and all republicans. The clique had seized the city to create as they called it the Second Republic of China a military run democracy. The commander of the clique had been a Qing general who had revolted during the collapse of Qing authority and joined the Republic. When the Republic collapsed he secured his control over the city and declared his new Republic. While the city aimed to be a shining city on a hill it became little more than a military dictatorship. The leadership has committed several brutal crimes and their punishment will be swift. Accused of the usual treason against the Empire alongside murder, rape, and torture the leadership knew that the end was near yet still fought to the end against the Qing. Accusing the Qing government of betraying the Chinese people the general made his last speech defiant. His punishment was swift he and the rest of the leadership was sentenced to death and dragged off to the gallows they will be executed tomorrow and there are rumours that the Emperor himself will attend the public hanging.

With the defeat of the Nanchang clique and their subsequent execution the Qing held an unassailable position which allowed them to strike into the heart of southern China and crush the last of the warlords that remained. The warlords of the south knew this and many of the Republican warlords gathered together in Nanning to form the United Republican Front for the Liberation of the Chinese People. The new United Front was large stretching from the Tibetan border to the East China Sea bordered to the south by the Free Canton Republic and the Anarchist controlled Leizhou peninsula. To the north however a much darker force had arisen. Securing all land between the Qing held north and the United Front a deeply reactionary nationalist regime had seized power over the region. Under the control of Xiao Zanyu, the Greater Chinese State advocated for reconquering all land once held by China in any form ethnically cleansing China and establishing a Han ethno-state. The world assumed that his regime would collapse once the Qing launched their attack, but they would be proven far to wrong. With the establishment of the United Front and Greater Chinese State the war for China had entered a new stage.
On a lighter note the Qing were able to re-establish control over the lands south of the Yangtze quickly the trains and trucks bringing food and other resources to the villages and towns of the newly reconquered regions. Nanchang itself was rebuilt to be a shining example of what the Qing would bring to China. The slums were torn down and replaced with massive government owned apartments. The devastated roads were torn up and replaced with long strips of concreate allowing the Qing forces to move across the town quicker which only led to the high crime levels plummeting with near daily executions of murderers and rapists in the town square. Oh yeah I guess we need to talk about the executions see the thing is the Qing had placed the reconquered regions under martial law until they were completely rebuilt, and they cracked down hard on crime. Rape, murder, and armed theft all were punishable with death in the occupied lands and the executions were all held in the central square at midday, so it was common for people to have lunch watching the execution of the criminals. This was met with protests from some of the more peaceful factions of the Qing government and we have records that show that the Americans quietly protested the methods. Still they were effective and the rampart crime in those regions was annihilated and even today Nanchang has one of the lowest crime rates in China.

The return of Anubis completely threw the War or Ra's Succession on its head Cronus was nearly defeated and Sokar had driven Lord Yu and Heru'ur back on every front so most expected Sokar to emerge victorious. Anubis threw that out of the window he would deal Sokar's worst defeat at the battle of Gai where he would force Sokar himself to flee through the Stargate or be killed. While Anubis had only developed a small number of the Kull soldiers that would become the terror of both the Goa'uld and humanity he used them to great effect. Entire Unas forces were killed by a single Kull weakening Sokar which alongside Heru'ur launching a massive counterattack at the same time collapsed Sokar's western front. Lord Yu leapt on the opportunity and reconquered several vital worlds while Cronus expanded his holdings once again.
