During the looting of Kimberly, the British forces had found several in system engines that allowed Ha'taks and Al'kesh to travel within the same solar system as they already were in. These had been placed in storage until Project Orion was commenced when they were dragged out to be studied and replicated. During that time no real thought was put into possible alternative uses the Battle of Earth changed that. The Ha'taks had attacked the day before an Asgard satellite was put into orbit to scan the system for threats and humanity decided to see if they could copy it. The first purpose built human spaceship to leave the atmosphere of Earth was a cylinder with an engine at the end and two people inside in 1937. They would leave the atmosphere for ten minutes before returning though with the deaths of both of the men inside the vehicle. The Asgard gave humanity the technology that was needed for humanity to breathe in space alongside how to make artificial gravity. Humanity launched their improved spaceship in 1939 the spaceship would manage to orbit Earth for a single day. When it returned mankind immediately began to plan two main types of in system spaceships the Orbitals and Caravels. The Orbitals were divided into three types those being the Bombards, Headquarters, and the Logistics. The Caravels had two types one for exploration and trade and another for war. The first of the Orbitals was finished in 1943 and even today the Charlemagne station is the centrepiece of the Orbital defence scheme of Earth.

The United Republican Front for the Liberation of the Chinese People was while large also a deeply divided group with Communists, Republicans, Conservatives, Progressives, and every other ideology in China save for monarchism and National Renewal. The United Front was led by a council of the leaders of the main warlords that had led the major states that had united together to form the United Front. With the leadership of the front being a council, it was hard for them to actually do anything without weeks and weeks of debate and conflict over every decision. The endless debates over trivial issues made their attempts to attack the Greater Chinese State or prepare for the Qing assault. The minutes of these councils are hilarious to look back at because you had people arguing over the type of tea offered in the meetings. It is seemingly a wonder that this state managed to stay around for as long as it did but in reality every reform hammered through every industrialization proposal passed made southern China a better place for the local people. Trade actually flourished during this time with the Free Canton Republic becoming the gateway to southern China of course the United Front tried to make the trade flow from they ports that they controlled but they ran into two rather large problems. The Imperial Japanese Navy and the Imperial Navy were imposing a blockade on all lands not controlled by the Qing except for the Free Canton Republic. Why did not they cut down on trade with the Free Canton Republic is simple they made a lot of money selling things to the United Front though the Qing complained. The British and Portuguese were making far too much money from the trade to crack down though they did not sell any weapons to the United Front or the Free Canton Republic. Compared to their northern neighbour the United Republican Front for the Liberation of the Chinese People was doing very well despite their problematic government.
The Greater Chinese State was deeply reactionary their ideology of National Renew included purging all of the subhuman invaders that had ever taken a single centimetre of rightful Chinese territory. Quick disclaimer I loathe these guys they are as bad as Trotsky or Sokar what their leadership was put through they all absolutely deserved it. Anyway, back to the topic their entire government was focused around the conquest of all land that any Chinese state had evert held that being according to their records they defined as China itself, Indochina, Korea, the Philippines, Burma, all of India north of the Godavari river, central Asia, Siberia, Japan, and Iran. Historians have pointed out that no Chinese state ever held all of that land and it is just obvious that the leadership drew lines on a map and claimed those lands. The entirety of their society was focused around the upcoming war and so they dragged any and all dissidents off to the factories. When I say dissidents, I mean those that the party deemed inferior, so it was quite common to see their Blueshirts drag people out of their homes in the middle of the night simply because they were a minority. Though not everyone got the luxury of dying in the factories from neglect and torture some just had a bullet behind the ear in the middle of the street where their corpse was left to rot. As they purged their enemies they also replaced any location of cultural importance to a minority with a Blueshirts meeting place where they would do some very esoteric actions. The Greater Chinese State was a horrifying monstrosity there is no other way to put it to be honest they destroyed minority culture, perverted Han culture into a monstrosity and raped the lands under their control to hell. Some of you may be wondering why the world did not intervene against them and well no one escaped until their bloody drawn out defeat.

By the time Anubis returned Lord Yu was on his last few legs he had lost large chunks of his territory and was being pressed back on every front. With the return of one of the bloodiest Goa'uld warlords he was most definitely screwed. Wherever the Kull appeared his men were slaughtered, and it took a direct strike from an Al'kesh crashing from orbit to kill a Kull and he could not afford to keep that up. So, he abandoned his allies and withdrew to his core worlds where he fortified to the brim. As he withdrew humanity oversaw his Jaffa withdrawing either through the Stargate or a Ha'tak which gave them the general status of Lord Yu. Thanks to both Amaterasu and New Kaunas the allies had a vaguely positive view towards Lord Yu and some saw it as a potential chance to secure another ally. High Command laughed them out of the meeting hall but the idea would resurface.
