What is Monarcho-Socialism?

Monarcho-Socailism is the political belief that the best way to achieve socialism is through a Constitutional Monarchy. The most common version supports democratic socialism rather than full on Marxism or other radical views. The ideology has its roots in the Russian Empire and spread west from trade and migrants where it caught on in Scandinavia, Germany, the Benelux, France, Spain, and the United Empire. It is not classified as a Marxist ideology despite what some would claim.

How can you be socialist if you have a monarchy as the end goal of socialism is a classless society?

The socialist branch that Monarcho-Socialism is descended from does not actually draw descent from the works of Marx as stated earlier. The main goal of Monarcho-Socialism is to protect the subjects of his majesty from all that could harm them in Capitalism. While we acknowledge that capitalism is the most efficient economic system we believe that it is best regulated and controlled so that it does not harm the weak and powerless. Why must there be a monarch is a question that is often brought up in debates against us and we reply that the majority of republics have failed and that monarchies provide a strong stable political force to keep the nation together. Another important aspect is that we believe that the monarch provides a connection to the past while advancing into the future.

The Free Canton Republic was well prepared for the United Republican Front invasion and in fact had been preparing for it. Their troops had been trained in the most modern forms of defensive warfare and their large Black-Market profits had allowed them to buy modern non-plasma machine guns and artillery. The United Republican Front had also been preparing and had sent swarms of scouts and other agents into the heart of the secessionist state. They managed to infiltrate the army at the lower levels allowing the United Republican Front to prepare more efficient strikes against the Free Canton Republic. By the 25th of July all was ready and the United Republican Front for the Liberation of the Chinese People launched their attack on the Free Canton Republic. The struck deep and fast overrunning several key defensive positions quickly opening up the road to Canton itself. But even with the loss of their positions the Cantonese soldiers fought to the death against the Republican forces. Attacking along the coast and using the same strategy used against the Black Army of naval landings behind the defenders and attacking from the rear was while successful it reaped a bloody toll. The Republicans slowly pushed through the Cantonese defences securing several large encirclements as the front slowly collapsed and the Republicans drew close enough that they could bombard Canton itself. The last scattered remnants of the Cantonese military withdrew to the city itself as the Republican forces reached the border with Hong Kong and Macau. The battle of Canton was brutal but swift as the Cantonese had begun to run out of ammunition and thus the battle soon devolved into a brutal melee. The last Cantonese soldier surrendered on the 15th of December when news reached him of the capture of the Cantonese President and parliament in their bunker. The United Republican Front would celebrate their victory while the captured leaders were dragged off to trial. The judges were surprisingly lenient only ordering the execution of President Deng Jun and Prime Minister Chen Jiongming for treason against the Chinese People while the remainder were sentenced to hard labour. With the defeat of the Free Canton Republic the United Republican Front for the Liberation of the Chinese People held all of southern China and they turned to the north where the Greater Chinese State was digesting their conquests. The Qing were also getting ready the final phase of the Warlord Era was about to be unleashed unto China.

The Greater Chinese State's conquest of the Ma Clique is in my opinion the perfect example of how utterly racist they were. See the Ma Clique was run by Muslims and had a large non-Han population which the Greater Chinese State viewed as well for lack of a better term heresy. When they launched their invasion, they attacked with their full wrath and fury against as their leaders put it the race traitors in the north. They intentionally spread the word that if people sheltered inside mosques and other religious buildings that they would be given mercy. When the Blueshirts reached the packed mosques filled with civilians they surrounded the mosques and razed them to the ground if anyone tried to escape they shot them down and used their corpses as more fuel for the fire. The Ma Clique fought well, and two out of their three leaders fell in battle and the Greater Chinese State was unable to get their hands on their corpses which I am thankful for because they were harsh to corpses. However, Ma Bufang was not so lucky and a squad of Blueshirts captured him at the fall of Xining as he was commanding the evacuation to the north. He was thrown in prison where he was tortured for several months until the last Ma soldiers were hunted down by some of the more radical Blueshirts. Xiao Zanyu ordered a great parade to show the might of the Greater Chinese State and decided to drag Ma Bufang out for it. He was stripped naked and tied to the back of an armoured car on top of which Xiao Zanyu waved graciously to the crowd. When he reached the centre of Hengyang he threw Ma Bufang onto a pyre made out of the corpses of his men, family, mosque, and assorted other items that were important to him. Then he was set alight and from what the records tell us he burned for a long time but he died and the Greater Chinese State's first stage of expansion was over for now.
