The reign of Emperor George V had been filled with turmoil and war. He had been born in the reign of Queen Victoria. He would take the throne upon the death of his father Edward VII in 1912. One of his first actions as monarch was to declare war on the Ottoman Empire and from there his reign was interesting the Balkan War saw the end on an ancient Empire and the events that followed after were unique. His eldest son and heir Prince Edward died in 1920 and his younger son the then Duke of York ascended to the title of heir. In 1930 he became the first Emperor of the United Empire of Britannia which he would hold for the rest of his life. But no man can live forever and on the 18th of August 1940 Emperor George V died in his sleep and his son ascended to become Emperor George VI of the United Empire. His coronation was planned for the 20th of October 1941 and was to one of the greatest in world history.

Heathrow Airport was packed with formal Death gliders as monarchs and presidents from across the world arrived in the capital of the United Empire for the grandest event of the year. When the day finally came the world watched on with bated breath. The photos of the young Emperor meeting with Kaiser Wilhelm III, Emperor Napoleon VI, King Jean III, and many others soon proved popular though not many originals survive today. When he entered Westminster Abby, the coronation began. After several hours of ceremony, he was formally crowed as Emperor George VI of the United Empire of Britannia King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the West Indies, Jamaica, the Cape, Natal, Orange, Bechuanaland, Transvaal, Burma, Bengal, Orissa, Maharashtra, Baluchistan, Indoscythia, Dravidia, the Ganges, of the Wulfen, and of the Jaffa, Defender of the Faith. Following the defeat of the Free Canton Republic the United Republican Front for the Liberation of the Chinese People decided to crush the Greater Chinese State so they could take out the other major contender against defeating the Qing Empire. Gathering their forces along the locked down border most of the soldiers and commanders thought that the war would be brief that they would just kick the door down and it would collapse. They were very wrong. When Operation Mad Dog was launched the majority of Republican Armies launched themselves against the mad state that held China and ran into heavy defences that they had never seen the like of before. Entire battalions were slaughtered in desperate attempts to take vital positions. Then the Greater Chinese State's forces launched their counterattack. In several key places across the line they managed to break through and push forward however this is when the Republican's greatest mistake came in. They told their men that the lines had been broken but not how it was in a few places and only small forces. So many of the defenders routed especially when the Greater Chinese State sent forth their secret weapon. That being the tortured civilians that they had taken from their realm and infected with the worst diseases that they could find before releasing them towards the Republicans. While at first the Republicans merely treated them as refugees and gave them food and shelter. Then diseases such as smallpox and bubonic plague began to spread through their ranks and the refuge shelters. The Republicans could not deal with diseases alongside the collapse of their lines from their soldiers dying of disease or routing from fear. Meanwhile the forces of the Greater Chinese State steamrolled south securing town after town and leaving a scorched black ruin as they continued south until they reached the outskirts of Fuzhou. It was at that city the one Mao Zedong managed to rally the communist defenders against the horde from the north and prepared to fight. Which is exactly what they did the Battle of Fuzhou was a grinding mess in a war of routs and encirclements. The battle only benefited the Republicans though because they had more and in some cases better troops then the Greater Chinese State could ever dream of and they funnelled them and their guns to Fuzhou. Mao led a masterful defence making use of his oppositions cruelty to get the entire population of the city on his side and soon the battle raged in the sewers and the streets where no stone was left untouched in the desperate defence. But all of the blood and pain that the people of Fuzhou went through would be worth it. When the Republicans launched their counterattack and managed to reduce the Greater Chinese State's supply lines to a thin strip along the coast. However, it came at another coast three soldiers from the Greater Chinese State would find Mao's headquarters and beat him to death with shovels before abandoning the city to the Republicans.
