The second group of Commonwealths to join the United Empire came around in 1942 with the passage of part of the Snowden Plan. The bill led to a series of referendums asking the people of the British Colonies of Rhodesia, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, the Gold Coast, and Anglo-Egyptian Sudan on what they wished their status to be. The result was the desire to become Commonwealths and so the next set of referendums came around asking the other Commonwealths if they supported the ascension of the colonies into the United Empire. Rhodesia passed easily due to its status as a settler colony and it formally became a Commonwealth on the 1st of August 1942. The other colonies were trickier since they had small white population which Rhodesia also had but they were seen as a settler colony, so it was harder to sell to the population of the white Commonwealths. After several months of campaigning the vote passed for the Gold Coast and Kenya but failed for the other colonies and the Imperial Government was forced to find a compromise. The colonies of Uganda and Nigeria formally became Imperial Territories which while they had more rights then Colonies they were still under the direct control of the Imperial Government. The Anglo-Egyptian Sudan on the other hand was divided into an Imperial Territory in the black Christian south and the Arab Muslim north was ceded to the Kingdom of Egypt.

The rights of women during the Goa'uld War is an interesting subject for while they had the right to vote in the United Kingdom since 1916 and the United Empire from foundation but to be honest that was it. They really did not have that many rights, men were still more respected in every field and British society was still highly misogynistic, but the Goa'uld War actually led to a shift. With the increased industrial development across the United Empire more and more women joined the workforce and thus, unionized the first female only workers union was formed in 1938 and was followed by several others. This alongside the increased funding to the military and thus, the higher casualties from the brutality of the war led to more and more nurses and doctors needed which in this case was filled by women. As more and more women that joined the workforce they managed to secure more and more rights and better social standing. The securing of rights from the Patriarchy is another example of something that only really happens in the United Empire that being progressive values and social movements are tied to the Unions. So, the early feminist movement seized on the unions much like the Australian Aboriginals and the native population of the African Commonwealths. Now welcome to the stage the one and only Jessie Duarte.

The defeat at Fuzhou was the only bright spot that the Republicans har during the early war against the Greater Chinese State the majority of the front was far to close too their heartland for comfort. Kunming the capital of the Republican efforts was only a few kilometres from the frontline and was filled with refuges and grim-faced soldiers. However, despite what you might think the atmosphere was not one of fear or trepidation but of hope. The Five Colour flag flew proudly over the city and wherever you went people were digging in for the eventual assault with enthusiasm and the knowledge that the Republic would endure. When you learn about the forces only a few kilometres away however you have to wonder how these people kept up their will. The Greater Chinese State had assigned their most savage Blueshirts divisions possible to that section of the front so they could purge the as they saw it traitorous Republicans. The Blueshirts attacked daily in the hope to break the line but by now their fear had dissipated and the Republican defenders fought well and hard against the blood crazed onslaught. However, the outer defences of Kunming failed not in battle but from within when a small officer's clique that had been entranced by National Renewal decided to open their part of the front and join the Greater Chinese Front. Their action immediately led to the Blueshirts to charge through the thin gap forcing the Republicans to concede their positions and withdraw to Kunming itself.

With the collapse of the lines north of Kunming the battle turned to the city itself where the works of several weeks of digging in were ready to be tested. Led by a barrage of artillery the Blueshirts attacked the city with their full force aiming to take it in one swift blow. They nearly succeed as they managed to cut off and wipe out the forces withdrawing from the west of the city, but the remainder managed to entrench themselves before the Blueshirts reached the outskirts. So, the Blueshirts for once decided to do the smart thing and launched an attack to the west aimed at cutting off their supplies to the rest of the United Republican Front. The Republican's countered by withdrawing troops from the city to hold the vital road which was a good idea to be honest of the road fell they would have been unable to evacuate anyone. Anyway, with the withdrawal of two regiments to hold the road the Blueshirts returned to focusing on the city. They managed to force withdrawals along the western side of the city even reaching Lake Dian. The Republican high command saw the writing on the wall and began the evacuation while they still held the city. First the last remaining civilian administrators left the city then the mass exodus of civilians began along the dangerous Kunming road thousands of people fled leaving the war-torn city. When the last of the civilian convoys had left the Republicans commenced the final phase of their withdrawal which involved destroying the remainder of Kunming. By the beginning of 1943, the Black and Blue Flag flew over the ruins of Kunming with only corpses and madmen to salute it.

The death of Heru'ur and the mutiny of Ba'al the scales already tipping towards Anubis fell squarely in his favour and he unleashed his wrath on his enemies. Sokar lost world after world and Unas hide would soon become a cheap commodity across the galaxy. The mutiny of Ba'al also had other benefits beside the military implications in that Anubis had proven that he was willing to take in his former foes which soon prove useful as Lord Yu purged all of the remaining System Lords that stood with him and several flocked to Anubis's banner. Anubis however had a problem in that he was one of the cruellest Goa'uld and the image of him as a benevolent protector that the defections had unwittingly created needed to be destroyed. So, he found a relatively powerful System Lord that bore the banner of Cronus's and destroyed him in his entirety to the point we do not know the Goa'uld's name.
