Hey everyone, I wrote this story back in 2015, but I always felt a bit unhappy with it in the end.
So now 5 years later, I'm planning on rewriting the chapters I had and change it up a bit.
The title will change and I am changing the time when this story is taking place, it changed to after the Alvarez Empire arc but before the 100 year quest arc. Although I might be planning to change the last few chapters I have in mind to take place after the 100 year quest arc. But that depends on how that story will go.
I don't own Fairy tail or the characters.

Old title: Many adventures that makes crushes bloom in too love
Lucy woke up by the rays of the morning sun coming in from her window. Her eyes fluttered open and she sat up to stretch out. When she was done stretching out she noticed that there was something lying next to her in her bed. When she pulled away the blanket she knew that it wasn't something but a someone. Someone she knew very well. Lucy watched the boy with pink hair sleep soundly next to her in her bed. Mumbling in his sleep and his noes scrunching up a bit as if something close to him was missing.
A little angry mark appeared on Lucy's forehead. 'That damn dragon slayer snuck in to her house and jumped in her bed again while she was asleep' she thought. Even if he looked a bit cute while sleeping and she actually appreciated his warmth now that the days were getting colder. She also didn't want to indulge him that it was okay.
"LUCY KICK!" she yelled as she kicked the pink haired dragon slayer out of her bed and in to the wall. Not expecting it to work, because the last time she tried to Lucy kick him, he caught her leg.
With a loud groan the boy sat up and held his cheek where Lucy had kicked him and lifted himself of the floor with a hand supporting himself on the wall. "What the hell Lucy, what was that for?!" the dragon slayer said.
"Natsu" Lucy said angry while glaring at the dragon slayer. Immediately Natsu gulped. "Why the hell are you in my bed?! No, what the hell are you even doing in my house again!?" Lucy said angrily.
"I wanted to sleep on your comfy bed, what's wrong with that? It's not like it's the first time." Natsu said. "Natsu you don't enter someone's house in the middle of the night without permission. And you certainly don't just hop in to their bed. Especially if that someone is a girl!" Lucy said angrily.
"I don't see the problem Luce, I didn't want to sleep alone and your bed is just the best to sleep in." Natsu said. 'Wait did Natsu say he didn't want to sleep alone' Lucy blushed and turned around and moved to her cub board with all her clothes cause she didn't want Natsu to see her blush. After being with Natsu on a team and going through so many adventures together she developed feelings for him. But she also believed that nothing would come from it because Natsu never showed an interest in her. He was also way to dense to pick up on her feelings for him. "Natsu you just don't okay?" Lucy sighed. "I'm going to get dressed now, so get out of my house I will see you later at the guild okay?"
"Happy wake up we are going to the guild." Natsu stood up and walked over to the blue fur feline sitting on Lucy's couch. Having moved there after all the commotion started between the two mages. Lucy just noticed the blue cat on her couch when Natsu had said his name. Of course Happy would be here as well, he and Natsu where always together. "Aye sir" Happy said and flew out of the window with a grin. "Later Luce." Natsu said while showing his toothy grin acting as if all that happened was all natural. Then he jumped out of her window.
Lucy sighed again. Another thing she found annoying about her partners. "They never use the goddamn door" Lucy grumbled. After that she started to get dressed.
After an hour of getting ready Lucy opened the door of the guild hall and walked in. She was greeted by a few guild members and she greeted them back as she walked to the bar. There Mira was cleaning some glasses. "Morning Mira" Lucy said smiling. "Morning Lucy, did you sleep well?" Mira asked. Lucy sighed and let her head lie down on the bar. "I did sleep okay, but I woke up with Natsu in my bed again. It really is getting on my nerves that he sneaks in almost every night." Mira smiled at the mage in front of her. "He does that because he likes you a lot Lucy." Mira knew about her crush on Natsu, she had told it at one of their girls night's to all the girls. Mira just wondered how long it would take for the both of them to get together. 'Maybe I should just set up a plan to bring them together' Mira thought to herself.
Lucy sighed again. "Can I have a sandwich and a strawberry milkshake, Mira?" Mira nodded her head and walked away to get Lucy her breakfast. 'If only what Mira said was true' Lucy thought to herself. She turned in her bar stool and looked at all the mages in the guild and a small smile on her face. It was still the same rowdy guild since the first day she stepped through the doors. Fights happening, people laughing and drinking and others standing in front of the request board looking for a job.
"Lusshiiee, Natsu took my fish!" Happy flew right in her chest and was hugging and sniffling as he rubbed against her. "Then you should have eaten it quicker Happy." Natsu said while grinning and laughing at Happy. There was a quick glint in his eyes as he watched Happy rub against Lucy's chest, but that disappeared as soon as it appeared. To quick for anyone to notice. "I was keeping it for Carla." Happy said with teary eyes and accusingly looked at Natsu. "Whoops, we will get you another one at the market than Happy." Natsu said will walking over to the bar where Lucy and Happy were now. Lucy just sighed again and petted Happy on his head. "We will get you the biggest fish we can find on the market so you can give it to Carla, Happy." A small smile on her face as Happy instantly cheered up. "You are the best Lucy!"
"Here you go Lucy." Mira said as she place Lucy's breakfast on the bar. "Thank you, Mira." Lucy smiled at her breakfast and started eating small bites of her sandwich and took sips of her milkshake in between.
Natsu said down right next to Lucy and put his arm around her shoulder. "Luce let's go on a job." Natsu said. "Sure Natsu, pick out a job while I'll finish my breakfast." Lucy smiled at him. "Yosh!" Natsu grinned and let go of her shoulder to be able to run over to the request board with Happy flying after him to look for a job.
Just as Lucy finished her breakfast, Natsu ran over to her. "I found a good one Lucy!" Natsu grinned while handing over the paper with the job to Lucy.
A group of monsters have attacked our village for a week now and we can't hold them off ourselves anymore!
Place: Susto Village
Reward: 150,000 jewels
The village head of Susto Village
'Defeating a group of monsters, I shouldn't have expected anything else from Natsu. But it does cover my rent for this month and I will have some extra aswell' Lucy thought. "Okay. Let's do it" Lucy said to Natsu and grabbed the paper and turned in her stool to face Mira. "Mira Natsu and I are going to take this job." Mira nodded her head and took it from Lucy's hands. "Goodluck Natsu, Lucy and Happy." Mira said with a smile.
"I'll go home and get my pack my backs after I finish my breakfast Natsu. I'll meet you up at my place afterwards?" Lucy said as she started to eat her sandwich again. "Sounds good to me Lucy." Natsu said with a bright grin and ran off too somewhere else in the guild. From the sounds and ruckus that happened a bit later it was to start a fight to kill some time before they left for their mission. Happy stayed with Lucy at the bar, having gotten a fish from Mira that he was eating up. "Didn't you want to save a fish to give to Carla?" Lucy said as she sipped her drink again. "We are getting a bigger fish from the market for her, so I can eat this one." Happy reasoned and ate happily further. Making Lucy laugh and shake her head as she finished her sandwich.
An hour later Lucy just finished packing her back at her house when Natsu jumped in through her window. "Lucy are you ready yet?" Natsu grinned as he saw the blond mage sitting on her bag so she could zip it close. "I'm almost done Natsu just need to close this bag ." Lucy huffed. "And learn to use the door for once." Lucy said without looking up from packing knowing from how he usually acted that he had come in from the window.
"But the window is so much faster, right Happy?" Natsu grinned at Happy. "Aye sir!" Happy exclaimed. "You should use the window as well Lucy, it's way more fun" Natsu grinned at happy and then back to Lucy again who was still struggling with closing her bag.
"Need a hand there Lucy?" Natsu asked. "Yes that would be great Natsu." Lucy huffed back. Natsu walked up and helped her push the bag together. He accidently brushed against Lucy's hand while both reached for the zipper to close it. A blush spreading over both there faces. "You llliiikkkeee him." Happy instantly coed, still thinking his joke being funny. "That's it cat!" Lucy yelled and threw her now zipped up back at the cat. But she missed as Happy flew to the side to dodge the back without much trouble "Natsu, Lucy is trying to hurt me!" Happy cried flying over to were Natsu was cackling on the floor of laughter. The blush that had also appeared on his face long gone thanks to his friends distraction. Lucy seeing the par laughing and snickering on her laugh making her laugh as well. Even after all this time their antics hadn't changed. Which she was glad for. With all that has happened she was happy that Natsu and Happy stayed the same. They both lost a lot, but they still had each other and the guild.
Half an hour later they started walking to the train station of Magnolia. "Lucy do we really have to go with the train, can't we just walk?" Natsu whined to Lucy as he felt sick from just thinking about having to get on the train for 4 hours. "No Natsu, we are going with the train, I'm not going to walk for a whole day when it takes 4 hours to get there with the train." Lucy said. "Now hurry up, else it will only get later and later. I want to reach the town before it's evening. When they arrived at the station they got their train tickets and got on their train. Lucy needing to drag Natsu inside by his ear because he was trying to escape the ride and just run towards the village. "Natsu, we are going with the train and that is final." Lucy said while dragging a unwilling dragon slayer along. Finally reaching their seats in private sitting booth, having booked this because of Natsu's motion sickness so he couldn't disturb the other travelers with his gagging noises. "Lucy... so mean.." Natsu gagged as the train started to move and ride away from the station. "Natsu you big baby." Happy said as he chewed on the fish cookie Lucy gave him to get him on her side for taking the train. "Traitor..." Natsu said as he gagged again and went to lay down on his seat. Lucy said across from him and looked a bit guilty at him. 'I feel guilty for dragging him on the train like this, but there is no way in hell that I'm going to walk a full day' Lucy thought to herself. She started to read a book while the train proceeded to their destination. Happy curled up next to her after finishing his cookie and falling asleep. Natsu across from her turning paler by the second and gagging more. "Lucy …. Help…" Natsu pleaded and stretched out a hand that went back to his mouth the moment he started gagging again. Lucy sighed helplessly and got up to sit next to him. She grabbed his head and put it on her lap. "As long as you don't barf over me you can stay in my lap." Lucy said. Natsu nodded weakly as a response and turned his heath towards her stomach to be able to smell more of her. Her scent always having a soothing feeling to him. Lucy started to massage his scalp with the hand that was not holding her book and started to read on. She had a small blush on her face when Natsu had moved closer to her stomach and had let out a content sigh. The blush slowly receded when she started focusing on her book and Natsu made no further movements anymore having some how fallen asleep. Although from how pale he looked it wasn't a comfortable one but it was better than having him non stop gagging and being awake during the whole ride.
Later that afternoon they reached the nearest train station to Susto Village. Lucy stretched her limps from sitting in the same spot so long and she didn't feel her legs anymore after having Natsu use her lap as a pillow the whole ride. She moved her hand from Natsu's scalp and shook his shoulder a bit. "Natsu we are here wake up." Lucy said with a smile and then looked towards Happy who had also slept the whole way. "Happy you too wake up, we have arrived. Can you grab the bags while I help Natsu off?" Happy nodded as he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and got up and grabbed the bags. Lucy shook Natsu's shoulder again and he groaned. "Come on Natsu, get up we are here." With a sluggish nod Natsu reacted to Lucy her words and got up from her lap and with her help stood up from their seat with shaky legs. Lucy being not in a much better state after acting as his pillow the whole ride. Her legs slowly regained their feelings but it took a second to stand steadily. When she did she moved an arm of Natsu over her shoulder and wrapped her own around his waist as she moved them out of their private booth and out of the train. Happy flew ahead of them with their bags.
"Ground I missed you so much!" Natsu exclaimed when he got off the train and started to feel a little bit better. Lucy laughing at his antics that still stayed the same with transportation as well. She helped him up from the ground as he was still kind of out of it from the long ride. "Come on, it is a little walk still till we reach the village." Lucy said to Natsu. "Got it." Natsu said as a bit of color returned to his face. It didn't take long before he was back to his old self and was jumping around full of energy. "Let's hurry Lucy, you wanted to reach the village before it becomes dark!" Natsu exclaimed with a wide grin as he started to drag her along. Instead of the usual and grabbing her wrist while dragging her along he had grabbed a hold of her hand instead this time. A blush appearing on her face as she was dragged along by Natsu. "Natsu slow down a little bit!" Lucy exclaimed a bit embarrassed by her hand being in his. Natsu did slow down a bit thankfully for her. But she missed the small blush that had appeared on his own face as he kept facing forward while laughing. Happy flying next to the two mages and sniggering.
Sutso Village was a small and a quiet town surrounded by the forest. One big inn in the middle of the village and a few shops, houses and some farms. But nothing special. Lucy looked around, liking the look of it although she missed the bustle of Magnolia she liked the quiet as well. Only it was visible from the faces of the townspeople that they had been plagued and terrorized by the monsters that the two mages were requested to defeat. Lucy, Natsu and Happy looked at each other when they noticed this and they started to hurry a bit to reach the house of the village head.
It didn't take long before Natsu, Happy and Lucy reached the house of the village head. As they knocked on the door it was opened by a small old man. The man wore glasses, had a big gray moustache and walked around with a walking cane. "Are you the mages from Fairy tail?" the village head asked with hopeful eyes. "Yes we are." Lucy smiled. "Come in and I will inform you about the job." the Mayor said as he held the door open so they all could get inside.
As they sat down in the home of the village head he started talking. "It all happened about a week ago. Suddenly out of nowhere monsters came out of the forest and started attacking our people and destroyed our farms. The monsters them self aren't that strong. The problem is that they are with allot. We can't hold them off our selves anymore. In the beginning it was possible because our farmers took to arms and were able to hold them off. But soon enough a few of them started to get injured. Now we can barely hold on anymore. We can't keep going on like this. We need your help to kill the monsters. Please help us." the village head bowed his head towards the mages with tears in his eyes. "Of course we will help old man." Natsu grinned at the village head. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart." the village head said as he looked up at the mages as the tears went rolling over his cheeks now. The pressure finally leaving his shoulders for a bit because a ray of hope appeared in front of him. "Can you tell us some more about these monsters, like what they look like and when they attack the most?" Lucy asked. "Yes of course." the Mayor nodded. "They look like normal wolves just a bit bigger and their claws are bigger and sharper as well. They run on four legs most of the time, but some of them can run on two legs as well. The claws can easily tear through flesh. The monsters attack mostly at little past midnight. So they will probably attack or village soon. So I hope you can start on the job tonight, I know you must be tired of your travel. But our villagers can't hold them off without getting injured." The village head said with his eyes cast down. "We will start right away. Let us just put our luggage away at the inn and we will hold them off tonight." Lucy smiled. Natsu grinned and nodded his head in agreement. They may have been tired from the travel but this village needed there help badly. "Thank you so much, Fairy tail mages. The stay at the inn is free for charge for you just tell the owner Gia that I send you and she will understand. Hopefully you all can rest up there a bit before the monsters attack." The village head said. Lucy, Natsu and Happy nodded their heads and headed out the door thanking the village head for the room in the inn being free of charge. "Thank you again. I will inform the villagers as well that hope has arrived." the village head said as he bowed his head while Lucy, Natsu and Happy left his house.
Natsu, Lucy and Happy reached the inn and introduced themselves to Gia. An middle aged lady that look tired but was happy to receive them and showed them to their room. "I only have this one room left. The others have been used as an infirmary or a temporary place to stay for the injured villagers and their families. As it was not safe for some of them to stay at their own houses anymore." Gia sighed sadly and tired. "No problem, this is more than enough for us. Thank you so much." Lucy said with a gentle smile and went in to the room with Natsu and Happy to drop their bags. "I will bring up some food for you guys in a bit and you all can rest up a bit before midnight." Lucy nodded her head to what Gia said and the older woman left as Lucy closed the door behind her. Happy flying all over the room while Natsu had flopped on the bed only bed after dropping his bag on the ground. A small blush appeared on Lucy's face again thinking about their sleeping arrangements. It wouldn't be the first time they shared one bed. Especially not with Natsu's constant sneaking in to her bed on a regular basis. She had never been able to get used to it still. Mainly because she had feeling for the dragon slayer he was oblivious too. She sighed to herself and prepared her mind for the sleeping arrangement. She couldn't do anything about it so she might as well accept it. Lucy walked further in to the room picking up Natsu's bag and putting it up against the wall next to hers. She walked to the bed and Natsu made some space for her to sit down on it turning his face towards her looking serious. "Let's make a plan of how to deal with the monsters." Lucy said as she started to think up a plan. "It's simple I will just burn them and you kick their asses with your spirits." Natsu grinned up at her. "Yes, that is the way to go but we have to be weary of their claws. I don't want any of us to get injured." Lucy said as she grabbed Happy out of the air and started petting his head. "Don't worry Luce I will protect you." Natsu said as he got up and gave her a quick hug from behind. Lucy froze and stopped petting Happy's head when she felt Natsu's strong and warm arms embrace her. She felt his breath on her neck, but before she got a chance to react he had let her go and had gotten up to walk to the door. As soon as he reached it the sound of knocking came. Natsu had probably heard and smelled Gia come up the stairs with their dinner as she was in front of the door. "Thank you Gia." Natsu said as he accepted the dinner from her hands. Gia nodded her head and went back downstairs. Natsu closed the door and walked towards the table and two chairs at the window with three dinner plates filled with food. "Let's eat Lucy, I am starving." Natsu said as his stomach rumbled in agreement. This woke Lucy up from frozen state after Natsu's sudden hug and she hurriedly let go of Happy as he flew off to the dinner table. "Yes coming." Lucy said with a smile hopping there was no blush present on her face. She and Natsu had shared hugs before, but this one felt a bit different. A bit more intimate.
Well I hope you guys liked the changes I made. Expect a lot more in the other chapters that follow. I will delete the other chapters as well while I work on rewriting them.
I will try to keep to a weekly schedule while I rewrite the old chapters. I don't know if I can keep it up for the new chapters that will come afterwards but I will try.
