The Korean Empire had been established in 1897 and until 1905 it had been a sovereign state following the Russo-Japanese War the Empire of Japan reduced the state to a puppet. The Japanese developed the peninsula heavily but despite some calls never outright annexed it instead forcing the Emperor to force through several reforms to transform the nation into a constitutional monarchy which allowed them to influence the government more. The Russian Civil War secured them all the land south of Vladivostok from Russia while Japan gained land around the Sea of Okhotsk. The capture of lands allowed the Korean government to secure some desperately needed support as the Japanese and British invested heavily in the rump Qing in Manchuria which flowed through Korea. The Empire was heavily industrialised as the Korean government tried to reassert their formal impendence including going so far as to open embassies in the Second Kingdom of Hawaii before the Empire of Japan. The Japanese Government took this badly and moved to dissolve the Imperial Korean Military to enforce their dominance then a massive corruption scandal was revealed that toppled the Constitutional Democratic Government and the Social Democratic Party secured control over the government. The new Japanese government backed down with Korea and the road to true Koran freedom grew much shorter.

The Snowden Plan had called for the ceding of the British territories and protectorates in the Middle East to the Kingdom of the Arabs with the passage of the acts establishing the Commonwealths of Rhodesia, Kenya, and the Gold Coast. The Labour Party hoped with the passage of the African Commonwealths and Imperial Territories that they would be able to shed off their holdings in the Middle East to the Kingdom of the Arabs. The Government decided to hold a series of Referendums on their future status with three options those being staying at their current status, ascending into the United Empire, and joining the Kingdom of the Arabs. The options for joining the United Empire had around 3% of the vote, remaining at their current status gained around 22% of the vote and the remainder was for joining the Kingdom of the Arabs. It is recorded Ali I the second King of the Arabs fainted when he heard the news luckily he was in his bedroom at the time and only fell onto his bed. The Treaty of Bagdad ceded all of the British holdings in the Middle East to the Kingdom of the Arabs except for the island of Socotra. All military bases would remain on renewable lease that would last for a hundred years. The leaders of the British protectorates were forced to sign treaties which led to them joining the Kingdom of the Arabs in return for seats in the House of Emirs. By the end of 1942, the British government had withdrawn from all of their holdings in the Middle East and the entirety of the Arabian Peninsula was under the rule of Ali I.

The main reason that the monarchists won the vote at the end of the Third French Republic is widely acknowledged to be the assignation of Prince Henri of the House of Orleans by a radical Communist in the last few days before the referendum. The murder of the Crown Prince of one of the two co-monarchs proved to be a problem with the death of King Jean III in early 1943 from a heart attack as he had only daughters and no other living sons. Prince Henri had not had sons before his death, so they turned to his eldest daughter Princess Isabelle of Orléans- Hohenzollern who had married Prince Oskar of Prussia to end the August crisis and was currently Grand Duchess of Elsaß-Lothringen. The French refused to accept her as Queen due to her marriage to a German however the German government suggested placing her second son on the throne. The French reluctantly accepted, and Jean IV was formally crowned as King of the French and the House of Orléans- Hohenzollern began their reign over the French Federation to a large amount of distaste from the French people but they are somehow still there. I guess the French get their Republicanism doses from the Fourth French Republic.

The first action of HIS Orion was to visit Mars due to how close it was to Earth though they did make a stop off on the Moon. Where a small group of British, German, Russian, American, and Japanese troops who landed on the planet and raised their respective flags took some photos and then returned to the Orion. The Orion took around two weeks to reach Mars partly due to establishing a series of defence satellites along the way to allow easier communication between Earth and Mars and to defend against any Goa'uld attacks. When the Orion reached the planet, they dispatched several modified Death Gliders down to Olympus Mons where a flag especially designed for the occasion was raised. At the same time the Treaty of Lisbon was singed establishing the League of Human Nations.

By 1943 the majority of the nations of the world had at least one Interstellar Exploratory Teams but in 1943 the most unique team joined the war effort when the Vatican City formally established their own Interstellar Exploratory Team. Consisting of the Swiss Guards the ten-man team was mostly for publicity purposes but when they did fight in the battle they fought with the power of Christ on their side. Every battle they fought in the allies ended up winning though they fought in their formal uniform once at the Battle of St Peter's in 1963 so that is on page 12564 if you just want to read about that. Anyway, the Swiss Guard soon proved one of the more popular Interstellar Exploratory Teams in regard to publicity.

The greatest effort of the diplomatic efforts of the United Empire during the Goa'uld War following the Battle of Earth was the creation of the League of Human Nations. First suggested following the Battle of Neu Deutschland the eventual result was the League of Human Nations. While formally a diplomatic organization it also a provision that meant that if a non-human race attacked a human world all human nations would rally to their defence. Formed from the allies against the Goa'uld alongside their many protectorates and allies the League was a great benefit to Imperial Stargate Command and the Goa'uld War.
