The Argentine Republic had entered a period of economic collapse following the British severing trade ties with the nation in 1915 and things had not gotten any better by 1943. The military had secured control over the nation after the coup of 1937, but they had run the economy into the ground with their plans of economic revitalization and the people were getting sick with it. In late 1943 massive protests gripped the streets of Buenos Aires as the people demanded freedom from the reactionary militarists that had seized control over the nation. The military decided to crack down on the protests and opened fire on the people outside of the Presidential Palace which instead of routing the people radicalized them. They stormed the Presidential Palace as many of the soldiers who had just fired on them joined the revolution. The corrupt generals fled the city as it fell to the revolutionary fervour and the Argentine Peoples Republic was proclaimed by our great founder Victorio Codovilla and the Argentine Revolution began. Across the nation the proletariat rose up against the military and the military fled until the entirety of the north was under the control of the people. The reactionaries appealed for aid from the reactionaries of the world but their refusal to fight against the reactionary Goa'uld and the massacres that they committed during their retreat led to the world acknowledging our cause as just. The reactionaries collapsed with this news and their leaders fled to the Canary Isles where they still remain declaring themselves the legitimate government of the Argentine people which is laughable. With the collapse of the reactionaries the Chileans seized the chance to steal what was once Argentine land conquering all land south of the Chubut river. However, the referendums held the next year showed that the people would rather be with Chile then the People's Government which is their right. The election of 1944 showed a decisive victory for the Communist Party and the new constitution and the Proletariat Revolution at long last emerged triumphant.

The Kingdom of Denmark had formally controlled Iceland since the Napoleonic Wars and steadily given the Althing more and more power over affairs relating to Iceland and the agreement of 1918 had formed the Kingdom of Iceland in a personal union with Denmark but the people of Iceland desired more. Towards the end of 1942 the Althing appealed to Copenhagen requesting the right to hold a referendum for Iceland to shed the personal union with Denmark. The Danish government accepted the request with a single condition that Iceland would retain a monarchy just not under the Danish crown the Althing accepted the condition and the referendum was scheduled for the 1st of December. When it came around 99.5% of the vote supported the Abolition of the Act of Union and King Christian X formally abdicated as King of Iceland and the people of Iceland turned to searching for a king. Some suggested taking Knud, Hereditary Prince of Denmark as king which was accepted by the Althing who formally invited him to Reykjavik where he was declared as King Knud I of Iceland. The Monarchy was controversial among the population but the memories of the Germans and British enforcing monarchies upon eastern Europe meant that the people were willing to follow King Knud in return for peace.

With the knowledge that the HIS Orion's in system engines worked the starship turned to testing what was arguably the most important device on the ship that being the Goa'uld hyperdrive. The closet human controlled system was New Windsor and the HIS Orion set off for the system carrying some industrial equipment too large to fit through the Stargate in order to show that the Orion Project had fulfilled its main goal. The trip took two days and when the Orion tore into the Solar System on the 5th of January 1943 they sent out the message "He has sounded forth the trumpet". The population of all human controlled worlds erupted in celebration as they knew that the Goa'uld could no longer attack them without having to deal with mobile defences which the HIS Orion represented. The stars were no longer under the complete control of the Goa'uld.

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien is an absolute mess of a work the characters have no development and are one dimensional, the writing is terrible, and the obvious parallels to the authors actual job make this work an absolute waste of time. The Goblin that defects to join the party and Arwen are both obvious write ins and the dragon Smaug varies between a genocidal megalomaniac and a personable academic. The plot makes no sense sixteen soldiers is not enough to retake an entire city especially from a dragon and the battle at the end is pathetic. In conclusion the Hobbit deserves to be thrown onto the dustbin of history and permanently forgotten a much better choice would be Agatha Christie's latest work Skulls in Hohenstaufen Gorge.

The Government of the Kingdom of Spain prior to the Spanish collapse had been banished to the Canary Isles where they had remained declaring themselves as the legitimate government of Spain. How ever by 1941 with the death of King Alfonso XIII the crown fell to his third son Jaime the Count of Barcelona. Who refused to be crowned as King of Spain but instead took on the title of King Jaime I of the Canary Islands due to his belief that Spain could not be reclaimed by the Canaries and instead declared sovereignty from Spain. He would spend the early years of his reign establishing control over the government and establishing democracy in the young kingdom with clandestine support from the United Empire and France.

The ally's stance towards Lord Yu had always been more positive then towards the other Goa'uld due to his general lack of care for the area of the galaxy where Earth is plus his vaguely liberal reformist views meant that they looked towards him vaguely positively. The allies decided to offer some support towards him in late 1942 as Anubis and Sokar fought over the ruins of Heru'ur's realm and Cronus attempted to reconquer his lands. Lord Yu accepted the offer of economic support which took the form of trading Naquadah and other minerals in return for construction technology which resulted in Lord Yu developing defences around Stargates in case Sokar of Anubis attacked.
