With the first major offensive of Anubis towards human controlled worlds the militaries of the world were too busy focusing on the Goa'uld attack to deal with the La Paz's attack on Ecuador. This did not mean that they did not protest with the United States and the Imperial Navy imposing a blockade on the members of the La Paz Pact. Not that the blockade was able to do much for Ecuador with Quito falling within two weeks of the invasion. The last stand was brutal with large swathes of the population of the city having evacuated to the Galapagos Islands though the aid of the Imperial Navy the defenders could unleash everything in their arsenal including gas. See as the La Paz pushed through Ecuador the world powers had offered support to them in this case it took the form of evacuation from Ecuador and supplying the defenders throughout the siege. As it became clearer that the Ecuadorian defenders were on the verge of defeat the President purchased ten kilograms of Chlorine Gas which arrived the day before the harbour fell to Peruvian forces. The gas would travel through the nation as the La Paz Pact tore their way towards Quito. When the gas arrived at the city on the 14th of December the Peruvian forces were just storming up the mountains with Uruguayan Air Support. As they doggedly pushed up the mountain towards the city the Ecuadorian forces fortified their positions further most notably digging the gas underground to use as mines during the final battle. When the attackers finally reached the city, they found it to be about as well locked up as the support for communism in Russia. They charged through defences towards the heart of Ecuador overwhelming the weakened defenders after three days of battle only the Presidential Palace was left. As the Peruvian soldiers fought through the halls of the place President Galo Plaza detonated the gas slaughtering the soldiers scattered throughout the city as gas burst from the streets and buildings. Thousands of Peruvian Soldiers were killed across the city as other explosives that the Ecuadorians had dug in detonated.
With the defeat of Ecuador and the government was exiled to the Galapagos Islands the La Paz turned to dividing their spoils. First things first all of the areas formally under the control of Peru were returned to their previous owner while the remainder of Ecuador was annexed by Colombia though formally the Galapagos Islands were ceded to Peru as well. With the conquest of Ecuador done the La Paz turned once more to expanding their conquests with two main proposals open. Argentina, Uruguay, and Bolivia all supported the invasion of Chile while Peru and Colombia wanted to conquer Venezuela. The debate raged for months as mankind fought back against the Goa'uld the La Paz Pact debated whom to attack. As the debate raged on Argentina managed to suggest a compromise if you could call it that why invade one when you could invade both seemed to be their plan so they began to move their forces for Operations Condor, and Warhorse.

With the increased need for resources due to humanities drive for building Interstellar warships the resources that humanity had available to them would not be enough to maintain the war so after several years of pestering the United Empire approved the construction of ships to mine the asteroids within the solar system. The first class was named the Red Dwarf class and launched from the Ayer's Rock shipyards in late 1950. The Red Dwarf was given to the command of one Capitan Frank Hollister. The ship would mine the asteroids of the inner solar belt which would provide the resources used for the construction of the King Arthur Class Battleships in the next decade following their launch. Though that is not what the ship is most famous for instead the actions of Arnold Rimmer and David Lister which shall be the main focus on this work.

The end of the British Raj and the birth of the Indian Dominions had aimed to bring peace to the Indian Subcontinent, but it failed in that regard. Because well the British were not good at drawing up borders while they had aimed to keep tensions as low as possible they had split ethnicities and religions between dominions. So, because of this is was quite common for the dominions to oppress the smaller ethnic groups within their borders which led to several long running terrorist campaigns across India all aiming to secure self-government for themselves. While London tried to secure minority rights they still showed their lack of knowledge of the region. Which in some cases led to the actions become even more brutal with the most impressive attack being the murder of the Governor General of Maharashtra by in this particular case radical Hindu nationalists who wanted to establish what they called Hindustan over all of India. As India continued in their path towards the brutal quagmire that dominates the continent today the British tired in vain to fix the problems that they and others had caused. However, no matter what any nation tried India would remain an absolute mess which is probably why the Princely States have stayed independent for so long.

The great offensive launched by Anubis following his reunification of the Goa'uld was against every human controlled world that he knew of which was many when Ha'taks suddenly appeared across the galaxy humanity realised that they had to fight. While most of the initial attacks were beaten back by the local defences the initial Goa'uld attack was a decoy and their second attack was a lot deadlier with several thousand killed in the counterattack most from the destruction of the capital of Nova Caledonia, Nova Bannockburn.
