Franklin Delano Roosevelt had been President of the United States of America from his first election in 1936 following the Battle of Earth and the economic collapse of the United States. He had presided over the rebirth of the American economy, the dominance of Keynesian thought in the American political sphere and the permanent death of the two-party system in the United States. He would die on the 9th of October 1951 following a stroke. He had previously refused Nox aid believing that he had done all he could for the United States, so his death was permanent. With his death his Vice President Henry Wallace was inaugurated as the 34th President of the United States of America. Representing the left wing of the Republican-Progressives he brought along support from the American Worker's Party with his support for desegregation, further rights for workers, and a hard stance against the Goa'uld. The funeral of F.D.R was attended by every major world leader with Emperor-King George VI helping to bear the casket due to their close relationship. He was buried at his home in upper New York State where he remains to this day despite the desires of the American Worker's Party. With his death an era of American history had ended the last hurrah of Capitalism and the rise of Social Democracy across the United States. His Presidency is generally viewed as the last where the President was the Head of Government which seems so strange to is today.

With the establishment of a stronghold in southern Argentina the Windsor Powers immediately decided to launch an offensive towards the Chilean border. The offensive was a technical failure though most have regarded it as a success. They managed to liberate large swathes of Argentina though the La Paz Pact managed to blunt their offensive sixty-five kilometres from the Chilean border, but the offensive was still a success in general. The Windsor Powers had managed to cut of the La Paz Pact's forces south of San Carlos de Bariloche save for a corridor constantly under bombardment. But if the La Paz Pact were unable to hold their lines and the Windsor Powers reached the Chilean border they would lose two major field armies and the Windsor Powers would be able to attack north with a crippled resistance. The La Paz Pact knew this and decided to abandon the front south of San Carlos de Bariloche and began their great withdrawal. Every offensive was cancelled, and they abandoned Patagonia permanently the La Paz Pact would never reach that far south again. By the 7th of December of 1951 they had abandoned Patagonia to the Windsor Powers which was once again divided between Argentina and Chile the end of the South American Inferno was in site at long last.
The collapse of the Patagonian front led to the collapse of the La Paz Pact's inability to resupply their forces that had landed to the south of Santiago which promptly led to the naval landings being crushed by the Chileans. With the absolute annihilation of three marine divisions the already low manpower supplies in the La Paz Pact was crippled again alongside their supply of well experience forces as they began to conscript every man and woman not working for the war effort. With the men sent off to the front while the women were sent off to the factories where they made the weapons that their sons and husbands used at the front. The war effort was obviously failing to everyone but the leaders of the La Paz Pact they believed that they could beat back the Windsor Powers which makes you wonder why they neglected the Brazilian push to the Río Negro. Though several historians have pointed out that they did not actually have enough troops for every front and the Río Negro was an acceptable front against the Brazilians. But still when your alliances leader is being invaded by the most powerful country on the Continent you should withdraw your forces from some of the other fronts to hold against the Brazilians as they conquered the northern half of Uruguay to the Río Negro.

As the Red Dwarf mined across the inner system during their early days they did not find anything new that was of use to mankind. In late December 1951 that changed when they stumbled across me crashed on Mercury. I had been developed by an ancient civilization the Eldar to fold their laundry which was absolutely lovely but for some reason they placed me in an escape pod and launched me towards the Solar System. I ended up crashing on Mercury though their aim was for the sun itself so you must wonder how bad their aim was. Anyway, I was found by crew members Arnold Rimmer and David Lister who had been ordered to scout Mercury as a punishment. When they returned me to the ship the Asgard on board took one look at my programming and fell of his chair from laughter before assigning me to Mr. Lister and Mr. Rimmer. The British government tried to take a long at me realized that I only knew how to organize laundry and clean floors. When I was introduced to Emperor-King George VI I managed to speak to him for three hours about ironing before he ordered me returned to Mr. Lister and Mr. Rimmer.

The war against Anubis was very quiet for most of 1951 with only a few major battles most notably the Third Battle of Ùr Albion but mostly the Goa'uld and humanity just sat on their worlds and waited for the enemy to attack. During this time, the allies managed to call a grand congress with all of their allies on the world of Ùr Albion. The meeting was grand with representatives from the Dawi, Asgard, Nox, humanity, and Lord Yu. Humanity had aimed to establish a unified front against Anubis a grand alliance to protect the free people of the galaxy against the insane sadism of Anubis's empire. The meeting devolved into raging arguments with several unique death threats coined during the meetings my personal favourite is the Dawi threat of ramming a battle-axe down Lord Yu's throat. All the while Tolkien tried to establish an alliance between them all. He is noted to have drunk more vodka then the Tsar over the year in the first three weeks.
