Whumptober 2020, Day #26
Prompt(s): Migraine; concussion; blindness
Today's Whumpee: Dean Winchester
AN: Hey guys. I'm so sorry it's been a while since I updated. The final episodes of season 15 have really taken a toll on me and I can't really bring myself to write the boys right now. But I did manage to finish this up, and I wanted to get it posted so I could tell you all this. I won't go into detail about how I'm feeling about the final episodes. I'll only say that, while it broke me in many different ways, I am happy with the final scenes.
Anyways, I managed to finish this fic so here you all go. I can't promise the rest will be up any time soon but I will finish all 31 at some point, I can promise that. I'm gonna work on some Harry Potter fics, SW fics, and maybe some totally AU fics for SPN that won't be too emotionally difficult to write.
Hope you enjoy and drop a review if you like :) I
"C'mon, Dean, just listen to my voice," Sam said calmly. Dean, concussed and temporarily blinded during a fight against a witch, was leaning heavily on Sam as the younger one helped the elder down the spiral staircase of the Bunker.
"The effects'll wear off soon enough, Dean," Sam said.
"I want to strangle the dick that did this to me," Dean growled.
Sam laughed. "Well, I beat you to it, sorry, brother," he laughed. "It's getting late, how about a drink and then bed, okay?"
Dean nodded. "Yeah, m'kay."
Sam did a small double take, still bearing at least half of Dean's weight. Dean never relented to going to bed that quickly. He always liked to complain about how Sam was 'mom-ing' him, even if he always relented in the end. This had to be the concussion talking. Sure enough, Dean swayed heavily on his shoulder a few moments later.
"Dean, you okay?" Sam asked, readjusting and tightening his grip on his brother.
Dean hummed. HIs eyes were closed and his body suddenly pitched forward, Sam the only thing keeping him from falling to the floor.
"Woah, woah, I've got you, I've got you," Sam comforted. Yep. Definitely concussion. Dean had a habit of getting sick, or very near to it, when he got a concussion. Honestly at this point, Sam was rather surprised that neither him nor Dean had permanent brain damage from the amount of times they'd gotten concussed.
Sam shook his head, knocking his train of thought back on track as his brother coughed and spluttered up bile onto the floor.
"'m sorry," Dean choked out, leaning even more on his brother.
"It's alright, Dean, I've got you," Sam comforted. "C'mon, let's get you to bed, okay? We'll take a couple days off and let you rest up, huh?"
Dean hummed in response.
Sam carefully repositioned his arms around his brother's shoulders and managed to help his brother through the Bunker's halls to his room.
It took a few moments but Sam eventually got Dean comfortable in bed. He left for a only a few moments to grab his computer and a cup of coffee, knowing he'd have to stay awake for a while so as to randomly wake Dean up and ask him check-up questions.
"S'mmy?" Dean mumbled, his face buried in his pillow.
"Hmm?" Sam hummed in response, looking up from an article.
"Think we can avoid witches for a while?"
Sam smiled lightly. "Yeah, brother, I'm sure we can manage that."
AN: That was so short I'm sorry :( I also wanted to say that I have a profile up on Ao3 now! I'm slowly getting some stories transferred over there if you'd rather read my work there than on FFnet. I will still of course post here, but Ao3 will have some stuff too. The username is 'devilishdiadem' if you want to check it out.
I also wanted to say that, now that the holidays are slowly approaching, I hope to write more. My schoolwork will be pretty much nothing except some reading. I have a lot of ideas that I want to write including a SPNxHP crossover, a completely AU SPN fic that takes place in heaven and hell, a sequel to my recent Stormpilot story, and some fluffy romance one-shots for assorted ships.
Aight, I'll shut up now. Hope you enjoyed this little drabble 3 AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEK to all my American readers!
