All right, it's a really late Halloween story, but it's going to be completed sooner or later! So, let's try and wrap this up as much as I can before Thanksgiving! Anyway, enjoy!
It was quite a cracker jack of a night for the Total Drama couples and the singles who just hung out and kept watch over the party... not that some of them minded being left out. But the two that were having the most fun happened to be Bridgette and Ezekiel, who had performed a lot of exquisite dances like no tomorrow. They did every dance that the music provided, from ballroom, to tango, to mambo, to even the popular... limbo (at Izzy's request, of course). Of course, as things started to settle down, while some couples still danced, others went away on the dance floor in order to... mingle, talk with old friends, catching up on what was going on with their lives.
As for Ezekiel himself, he was leading Bridgette away from the crowd, much to the blonde haired girl's confusion. "Uh, Ezekiel? Where exactly are you taking me?"
"I just want a word in private. Don't want other people a'boot listening in, eh?" Ezekiel said with a nervous grin.
Bridgette paused for a moment, before giving a small sigh. "Well... no, I suppose not..."
Ezekiel's eyes shined for a brief moment as they travelled down the dark, dusty hallway, which didn't seem so scary as they kept walking. Eventually, Ezekiel spotted a small room nearby as he gave a nod. "Over here's pretty good."
Bridgette raised an eyebrow as she and Ezekiel entered inside. "You want to have our private conversation inside a broom closet?"
Ezekiel blushed a bit, before giving a small smile. "Well, why not?"
Bridgette opened her mouth to say something, then closed it as she thought about Ezekiel's innocent looking face. "Do you know what happens when a boy and a girl enter a broom closet together?"
"Er... they talk?" Ezekiel asked.
Bridgette couldn't help but give a small smile towards the man. She knew Ezekiel didn't get the right answer, but it was preferable that he didn't know. "Sure, they talk."
Ezekiel gave a big grin before taking a deep breath. "Anyway, Bridge, I know there's been a lot of tension since your... break-up with Geoff."
"A little bit... I mean, I still like him, but... not as much as I used to." Bridgette said as she looked towards the boy. "Sure, we still get in contact once in a while, but it's not quite the same as it once was."
"I see..." Ezekiel paused as he put his hand behind his head, looking at her rather awkwardly. "Actually, that's not what I want to talk a'boot, what I want to say is... well... you know how much I thank you for taking me in after the whole incident with the going mad and turning into a feral creature... something I wasn't!"
"Ezekiel, come on. It was horrible what Chris did to you, sure, but..." Bridgette started before Ezekiel put a finger in front of her mouth, shushing her.
"But don't you see? It wasn't just being first out again. It was my obsession with this stupid game... it changed me into... that!" Ezekiel shuddered. "You have no idea how slowly the brain starts to deteriorate, when all you have to eat each day when hiding out in the plane's cargo hold were leftover crumbs and the occasional dead rat on the floor. You think it's fun being feral, but it's not! It was like... I wasn't even treated as a person anymore. I lost MY HAIR when I transformed into... into THAT monster!"
The toque wearing boy looked down and gave a sniffle as he gave a sigh. "I thought I learned my lesson when I unintentionally insulted women... but after adopting that stupid personality and getting ejected by Chris... and losing my mind... I slowly start to realize, I didn't learn anything at all! I thought I'd be forever doomed, my sanity never coming back, being treated like a wild animal for the rest of my life... if it hadn't been for you and Dawn finding me and... healing my mind, I never would have stepped foot into society again."
"Oh, Ezekiel, come on. Don't beat yourself up so bad." Bridgette said in sympathy as she held the boy's head. "Sure, I will admit, you did say the wrong things and you were a little annoying, but that was only because you didn't know any better and were just trying to show off a new personality... it just wasn't the personality that people liked."
"I know that now..." Ezekiel said before he felt the girl lifting his head up.
"But it doesn't matter to me." Bridgette said with a smile. "I already gave you that second chance when you started showing yourself... your true self, one that is truly sorry and didn't know any better. In a way, I'm glad Dawn cured you. You didn't deserve what Chris had done to you."
"I know, eh." Ezekiel paused before looking over at Bridgette. "Bridgette, I know this is going to sound sudden and out of the blue, but there's something I'd like to say."
"What's that?" Bridgette asked, looking a little curious.
"Ever since the first season of Total Drama, back at the Playa De Losers, I always saw your beautiful smile and sweet nature and..." Ezekiel paused as he blushed. "One has to admit, I was quite attracted to those looks. The fact that you had a boyfriend broke my heart, but I was okay with that. The only reason I did that new personality was because I figured you'd never return my feelings."
"Even though you tried to get close to me and Geoff in the hot tub a few times, even when it was clear I was dating?" Bridgette frowned. "And you do realize I was still offended by your remarks back then, right?"
Ezekiel paused a bit, before looking down in guilt. "Admittingly, trying to take on a new persona WASN'T really my best plan."
"But look at you now." The blonde surfer's smile returned as Ezekiel looked up in confusion. "You're slowly working your way back to society, and I've long since forgiven you for all the things you said and done back in the Total Drama seasons. I know it wasn't easy for you, but things are different between us now. You and I, are talking like..."
"Regular human beings?" Ezekiel asked as he gave a grin and laughed. "You know, I always said myself that the day you would hang out with me willingly would be the day that pigs fly. Well, pigs aren't flying, but you're hanging out with me all the same."
Bridgette giggled as she looked towards Ezekiel with a lovesick look in her eyes. "So true..."
Ezekiel bit his lip as he thought about how to approach the subject. "There is... something else... those things I said... about you hanging out with me and... ugh, Izzy said I should probably do this, take a risk and... ugh, screw it, eh!"
Bridgette looked confused at first as Ezekiel gently lifted her head up before engulfing his lips with hers in a small, but rather soft kiss. Bridgette looked rather surprised at the bold move, but closed her eyes gently as she was taken in with the kiss. As soon as the two parted lips, Ezekiel looked down in embarrassment. "S-sorry... it's just... Izzy said that..."
"Forget what Izzy said." Bridgette said with a smile as she looked at Ezekiel. "Are you trying to say, with that kiss of yours... that you still love me, even after everything?"
"Well... yes." Ezekiel said, looking down. "I understand if you wish to slap me and don't return the same fe-"
The young man stopped short as she heard an ellicit giggle coming from her. Ezekiel looked up in confusion as he noticed the blonde, blue wearing surfur taking off his toque and rubbing his hair.
"You're such a sweetheart, Ezekiel." Bridgette said. "I will admit, hanging out with you for the past couple of months, I didn't know what to think... but now that I've gotten to know you, I can't think of anyone else to be on my side but you."
"Are you trying to say that-" Ezekiel started to ask... before Bridgette put her lips on Ezekiel's, initiating a kiss of her own. Ezekiel's eyes widened in surprise, before they closed as he returned the kiss with passion. As soon as the two parted ways, Bridgette couldn't help but give a grin as she smiled.
"You know, Ezekiel, there is another thing a boy and a girl does in a closet." Bridgette flirted as she ticked him under his chin. "Would you care to find out?"
Ezekiel looked rather curious, but gave a small nod towards the girl flirting with him.
Meanwhile, all the way back at the ballroom, Heather looked at her watch as she looked around. "Hey, where's Bridgette? How come I haven't seen her?"
Leshawna, passing by, carrying Harold in her arms, gave a chuckle as she said, "You just missed her, girl. Ezekiel took her out of the ballroom."
"What?" Heather's eyes widened as she raised an eyebrow in suspicion. "What could he be doing to her in there?"
Izzy popped up from behind Heather once again, scaring the raven haired beauty as she said, "I followed them and spied on them in the closet, and last I saw, she's teaching him... the advanced crab walk."
Heather, Leshawna and Harold's eyes widened in shock before Izzy turned towards an unseen fourth wall and blew a kiss. "Good night, everybody!"
"Hold the phone!" Leshawna asked in shock before Heather pulled out her cell phone and started to text furiously. "Are you telling me Bridgette and Ezekiel finally..."
"Yep! They've become official!" Izzy laughed as she walked by them. "Man, great party, huh?"
As Izzy walked off, Leshawna and Harold could only blink as Harold turned to his girlfriend. "Wow... hard to believe that Ezekiel would actually have the nuts to do it, huh?"
Leshawna, still in surprise, said, "I couldn't have said it better myself."
