Sport hardly changed in the early years following the discovery of the Stargate but as the British Empire reformed to develop New Windsor and later to fight the Goa'uld sport changed to. The most obvious example is Cricket it exploded in popularity across India and British Africa as the industrialization efforts continued along at a breakneck pace. The best example is when the first Kenyan team managed to win against Australia in 1935 the surprise win gave birth to the African Ashes as the loss was declared the death of Australian Cricket. Cricket was not the only sport that blossomed with football becoming very popular across the rapidly developing empires of Europe. The first World Cup was held in 1938 in Berlin with Russia pulling of a surprise win beginning the long tradition of Germany and Russia waging war through football as Chancellor Kohl put it in 1989. But the sport that benefited the most from the Goa'uld War was one that no would never expect. That being Australian Football. The very violent sport was brought to New Windsor by Victorian immigrants where the sport remained minor albeit reasonably popular for such an obscure sport. But it really took of once the Free Jaffa Army was formed the Sport much like the Japanese Bushido appealed deeply to the Warrior consciousness of the Jaffa. Australian Rules Football grew massively with the establishment of the Free Jaffa Kingdom with even minor matches drawing thousands of watchers. The sport became so popular that the two major political parties of the Kingdom formed teams to play with Teal'c himself becoming one of the greatest footballers in history often called the Don Bradman of Australian Football. The Jaffa shared their love of human sports with the Wulfen who became addicted to Cricket though the rules were slightly adjusted to acknowledge their greater physical abilities with the field being expanded and test matches running for ten days rather than five.

With the Great Raid and the annihilation of the majority of the leadership of the La Paz Pact the ability of the United Republic of America to continue the war was annihilated allowing the Windsor Powers to tear through the rapidly collapsing lines of the new United Republic of America. The collapse was only aided with the lack of support for the new state from the soldiers within several cases entire armies defecting to the Windsor Powers. The Brazilians pushed over the front they had secured along the Río Negro towards the ruins of Montevideo meeting no resistance until they reached the city itself. Where a broken routed division tempted to stand against the Brazilian force they were crushed swiftly and brutally. With the Brazilian conquest of Uruguay complete the last holdouts in Columbia, Venezuela, Peru, and Ecuador collapsed with the Windsor Powers liberating large swathes of South America without a fight. The final battle of the South American Inferno was the Second Battle of Buenos Aires with the last remnants of the International Anti-Communist Volunteer Corps aiming to hold the city for as long as possible. The battle was furious with bombardments raining plasma from the Sky for days on end reducing the already ruined city to rubble, ash, and bones. The advance of the allies through the city was while swift brutal. With several major long running street battles pushing through the ruins of the city towards the last stronghold of Alfredo Baldomir where he prepared to fight his last battle.
The last stance of Alfredo Baldomir was fitting for such a terrible man. Instead of dying in a last stand like Victorio Codovilla he was knocked out by a rock and when he awoke he was surrounded by group of Argentine soldiers who dragged him back to their leaders for trial. His trial was much like that of Leon Trotsky in that everyone knew the verdict but not the specifics. Accused of crimes against humanity, murder, rape, and mass slaughter he stood no chance. He was found guilty on all counts and sentenced to death by hanging he was hung in the ruins of Montevideo in a caricature of the mass purges against Communists he had committed when he had first seized power. His death was far from dignified as he screamed for mercy as the noose was set up and his last words were begging for his life and his mother. But for his complaining his neck broke when he fell through the trapdoor and the man who had started the South American Inferno died on the 1st of August 1953. As his trial dragged on the Windsor Powers turned to dividing the South American Continent.
The first thing was that Uruguay was divided between Brazil and Argentina with the Río Negro forming the frontier between the two great powers of South America. To the north Colombia got off better then their allies losing their Caribbean Coast to Venezuela and large swathes of their south-west to Ecuador. The remainder of the rump country was left as it was that being a broken collapsing state that was an effective puppet of Brazil. Compared to Peru Colombia got off well. Peru lost all land north of Ancash to the greatly expanded Ecuador, to their south they lost their coast south of the department of Ica to Chile. The remainder of the country was united with the last remains of Bolivia to form the Republic of the Andes. Bolivia was crippled losing the departments of Oruro and Potosí to Chile, the department of Santa Cruz to Paraguay, the Departments of Tarija, Chuquisaca, and Cochabamba to Argentina, Brazil annexed the Departments of Pando, and Beni to establish a Sword of Damocles over the Republic of the Andes. The Treaty of Santiago was not a treaty of peace but a treaty of punishment with the population of the regions annexed by Brazil exiled from their homes to establish Brazilian dominance over the area and the mass growth of small nations who were not ready to deal with such great administrative problems. Not that the Windsor Powers cared they had Intentionally made it so they didn't care if the greatly expanded nations were able to deal with it they cared about not hindering the war effort of the Goa'uld War and the Treaty of Santiago did exactly that.

One of the tenser moments in the Goa'uld War came in early 1952 when IIET-49 who were dialling in from an abandoned world to Earth did not arrive at Leicester but in a strange ice cave far from anywhere. Having no idea where they were they decided to activate their distress beacon which was designed to be picked up anywhere within the solar system. The beacon was picked up by every ship in the Sol System and the newly built Warship the HIMIS Duke of York was dispatched to Antarctica to find out what was going on. When they finally drilled down to IIET-46's position and found the Stargate a massive problem emerged.
