Chapter 25
"The meeting is over. We are here to get Freddy and George." Molly bites out. In truth, the twins are useless in her eyes. They get in trouble too much, their grades are lackluster and both have chosen women who are completely wrong for them.
Arthur clears his throat, about to say that the party was an overnight one, but Bill speaks up first. "Mum, Dad take Ron and Ginny home. Charlie and I have some things we need to do in town. We'll call back for the twins and they can stay at the Leaky with us, if we take too long. We'll bring them home tomorrow morning, if not tonight. It may be late, but if we are not home tonight, we'll bring them in the morning." Bill winks at the twins, who are sneaking a peak out the door. He knows that you have to almost repeat yourself to get something to sink in with his mother.
"Alright, Bill. You're such nice brothers." She coos to him and then glares at the woman who was still standing there.
Janet shakes her head, poor Arthur. Having to be with that bitch. She steps forward. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Weasley. My husband has told me all about you. So hasn't Harry. Your twins are such lovely, ingenious boys. Always finding ways to make someone laugh at the world. If we had more of them, we would be better off. It's a shame that Voldemort is causing such a problem. If he was taken out of the picture completely, then Harry could relax and be a real teen instead of being held in limbo until it is too late."
"What do you mean?" Bill asks, intrigued by the woman's words and obvious concern.
"Harry's told me and my husband that everyone bows and scrapes, but will not listen to him. He wants to help in anyway that he can. He is supposedly the one that will defeat this creep, yet not a soul has stepped up to train him. The headmaster doesn't think a "child" should be burdened by this. At the same time he tells Harry that he is the one to defeat him"
"He's just a child. He should let the adults take care of this." Molly cries out at full volume.
"That's the rub, Mrs. Weasley. Last Christmas, Harry retrieved an orb from the Mystery hall and it plainly stated that they supposedly can only die by the other's hand. So simple logic works out to the fact that if Harry's the only one that can do this madman in. Everyone should listen to and help Harry, not Dumbledore, who is nothing to the lad than the head of his school.
Lastly, if you keep after my daughter, you will have to deal with me. I may not carry a wand, but my husband wasn't the only one that served his country. My daughter brings home perfect grades across the board in all of her twelve classes at Hogwarts, the same in her correspondence course for her mundane classes over her breaks and still finds time to help cook and clean around our home. She volunteers at a local food bank and animal shelter and has always been there for your sons and daughter among her other friends.
I seriously doubt anyone would qualify as a "scarlet woman" when they've only been on two dates. One being a ball, which was interrupted by your son's outburst. The other, her first date with her boyfriend, which she is still with. As she has only kissed him, I don't see that as perverse behavior.
I will take legal action if I have to. I know about the statute and being on the other side of that pretty wall you hide behind, I also know that the very system is threaded into ours, but that doesn't mean that we don't have our own little community that can cause trouble for those who mess with us.
It is a sad thing that children have to deal with bullies, but when the bully is an adult that they trusted, it's just pathetic, on the adult's part. Your little tantrum is going to end one way or another and you don't want me to do so. Either leave my daughter alone or you'll deal with me."
Molly is outraged at this muggle's gall. "I'll have you know that I come from a long line of proud pure-blooded magicals. I wouldn't speak that way to me."
Janet yawns. "Excuse me, but that is an tired justification. Well, if we really are going to do this here, so be it." She narrows her eyes and with feline grace darts around the rotund matron. It takes just a second for her to lift the woman's wand from the side pocket of her cloak. Hermione and Harry both had told her of Molly's ineptitude with wandless magic. Janet decides that she'll return the wand later. "Now let's see from what you said, you are proud that your family can only boast of six intelligent offspring. Now anyone knows that a head of a noble family's first priority is to reproduce. I'd say that Arthur did well. His heir is smart, kind, well mannered and brave. Charlie, Percy, Fred and George are already contributing or have plans to do so. That is honorable. Ginerva is a spunky, kind girl, but she should focus on what she wants to do in life. I know at one point that she wanted to play Quidditch. I'm not up on the sport, but between Harry and the twins, I'm getting there. There is no reason that a woman can't play. Around the time Bill was born, there was something called the Woman's Movement. It paved the way for you girls to do what you want to. The era of the house wife/mother is over unless that is what you truly want to do.
Back to my point, Arthur and you are to be praised for having six children that will do well. They were able to escape the genetic lottery that comes with inbreeding. Bill, Charles, stick with me on this. It is one thing to be proud of your family. It's another to choose your mate from them. I, at this point, don't doubt that there is some magical blood somewhere in either Jack's or my family histories, but it is so far back that Hermione would be termed a muggle-born.
From what I've heard, this whole Pure-blood is Right movement is just a death knell for this world. They are breeding the magic right out of themselves by procreating with each other. If not for this war, the whole Voldemort/Harry thing, would you want your sons with say a Parkinson or Zabini or even Malfoy? Miss Johnson is a half-blood, Miss Spinnet is a pure-blood. Fred has said that every single girl that you, Molly, have pushed at your boys is a pure-blood and I would say are related closely enough to be called cousins.
That is too close a relation. Unless your children have their kids with someone at least three degrees of separation away, you run the chance of one in three being impaired either mentally, physically or even magically."
Bill and Charlie look to Ron. It's already started in their family. Ron can barely do the work of a second year without help. They both know why their uncles died without children. They were like Charlie.
He and Ryan were going strong and happy. Ryan had met everyone, but Molly officially. They had met, but he figured that she would not accept her son being gay, so decided to be Charlie's safe harbor instead of adding to the man's guilt over it. When Charlie told him about George and Hermione, Ryan wrote to her and the two formed a pen pal relationship to deal with the B. F. H. (Big F^*#^** Heifer)
Neither Molly nor Ron catch on to what Janet is saying. "Hermione has been told that she is not to let that anchor drag her down anymore. Your son needs to do his own work from here on out. Goodnight, Arthur, Ginerva. Bill, Charles, I'll see you later." Janet walks back into the dining room having placed the two pieces of Molly's wand in the troll's foot umbrella stand after she saw the woman back up and stumble into the punk girl behind her. The girl had stepped oddly and Janet, using the moment to her advantage snapped the wand behind her back. She had helped the girl up and slyly dropped the wand in the stand. Janet's grin livens up her surrogate son and the party starts in earnest.
