D.W.: "Mom can I do the Mentos and soda experiment?"

Jane: "No, besides you would make a mess."

D.W.: "I want to!"

Jane: "D.W., I said no and that's final!"

D.W.: "Oh just watch me I'll do it somehow."

[10 minutes later]

Jane: "Kids, me and your father are going to do some Christmas shopping for a couple hours and Grandma Thora is here to babysit you."

Arthur: "Oh okay mom. I'll be good for her."

Jane: "I know you will Arthur because you are a very well behaved boy."

D.W.: "I'll be good mom."

Jane: "That's good D.W. Oh there's Grandma Thora right now."

Grandma Thora: "Hi Jane. Hi David! Hi Arthur, D.W. and Kate!"

Arthur and D.W.: "Hi grandma!"

Baby Kate: "Hello."

Jane: "Well we're off now. See you guys in a couple hours."

Grandma Thora: "Okay dear have fun."

[David and Jane drive off to the mall]

D.W.: "Okay here is my chance."

Grandma Thora: "What are you up to, D.W.?"

D.W.: "Uh nothing."

Grandma Thora: "Oh okay then."

[Grandma Thora then walks into the living room and sits on the couch to watch her soap]

D.W.: "Now time to to run in the kitchen."

[D.W. runs into the kitchen and opens the pantry and grabs the Mentos]

D.W.: "Mentos, check, now time to grab the soda!"

[D.W. opens the refrigerator and grabs the soda]

D.W.: "Now grandma or my parents won't know about it." [laughs]

[D.W. then puts on her goggles and opens the soda and the she pours the Mentos in the soda and steps back from it]

[Then the soda explodes all over the kitchen]

D.W.: "Yes! My planned worked!"

Grandma Thora: [walks into the kitchen] "What is going on here?"

[Then Grandma Thora sees soda all over the kitchen and D.W. is in the middle of the kitchen laughing herself silly]

Grandma Thora: "Dora Winifred Read! Did you make a mess in the kitchen?"

D.W.: "Yeah and the experiment was funny!"

Grandma Thora: "I'm am very disappointed in you, you don't make messes in the kitchen."

D.W.: "Shut up grandma!"

Grandma Thora: "Don't tell me to shut up we don't use these words in this house. I'm also going to call Jane and David about your behavior"

[Grandma Thora then picks up the phone and calls Jane and David]

Jane: [on the phone] "Hello?"

Grandma Thora: "Hi Jane, it's Thora speaking."

Jane: "Hi Thora, is D.W. behaving herself?"

Grandma Thora: "Oh no she isn't she made a huge soda mess in the kitchen and told me to shut up."

Jane: "She did what? She's been wanting to do that Mentos and soda experiment and it looks like she disobeyed me."

Grandma Thora: "Yes indeed. Also, Arthur and Kate we're well-behaved."

Jane: "We'll be home in one hour."

Grandma Thora: "Okay see you then. Bye."

Jane: "Bye."

Grandma Thora: [hangs up] "You are in so much trouble, D.W.! You are also going to clean up the mess you made."

D.W.: "Yeah yeah I'll do it."

[D.W. then cleans up the soda and Mentos mess]

D.W.: "There done, grandma!"

[1 hour later]

Jane: "Dora Winifred Read, come here!"

D.W.: "Hi mom of mine."

Jane: "Did you disobey me by making a soda mess in the kitchen?"

D.W.: "Yeah and it was so funny!"

Jane: "It's not funny! Go to your room for the rest of the day!"

David: "And no Mary Moo Cow for a week!"

D.W.: "Yeah yeah I'll go. Bye stupid grandma!"

Jane: "Come back down here this instant!"

[D.W. comes back to where Jane, David, Arthur and Grandma Thora are]

Jane: "You don't call your grandma stupid!"

David: "Apologize now!"

D.W.: "Sorry grandma."

Grandma Thora: "That's okay D.W. now go to your room and see you later."

[D.W. goes to her room]

Jane: "Thora, thank you for watching the kids."

Grandma Thora: "My pleasure. See you guys later."

David, Jane and Arthur: "Bye Grandma Thora!"

[Grandma Thora drives off]
