Chapter 27
Isabelle peels an eye open and sees the dreary light coming in her window. She groans and rolls over. What a start to a craptastic day. Why can't the day be bright and sunny?
"Isabelle, time to get up. We have to be at the Burrow in an hour and you know it takes a bit for you to eat and shower." She hears her mother on the other side of the door. Last night was the first night in a bit that they did a trip down memory lane.
"Heard you, Mum. I'm getting up." Isabelle climbs out of bed and walks into the bathroom. Twenty minutes later she is walking down the stairs to the kitchen. Her father is sitting down to a stack of fluffy pancakes, three eggs and bacon. He looks up and smirks. "Mine, small stuff. Get your own."
Isabelle laughs. "Like I would want all that." She bluffs and walks around the table, snagging his last piece of bacon, before dishing up two cakes for herself. Her mother turns around and gives him the last slice of bacon.
"And that proves which one of you loves me more." He pouts to Isabelle. "Mum just doesn't want to hear you pout to Grandma about me stealing your bacon. She would whip up a whole rasher and then berate her for hours on end about not feeding you, being a horrid wife and mother, and then start in on how she should have let you alone and married Uncle Ron." Isabelle says as she scoops a bite into her mouth.
George and Hermione turn towards her with raised eyebrows. Isabelle rolls her eyes. "Come on, you don't think I have ears. Do you two know how many times I've been told that I should have been Ron's daughter or Alicia's? How about being called: brat, joy-kill, foundling, the bore, and my personal favorite "Spawn of Satan". If it wasn't for Grandpa and Uncles Bill, Charlie, and Percy and Auntie, I wouldn't go there again. It's a blow to my self esteem each time I see her."
Hermione takes a deep breath and is about to speak, but George beats her to it.
"Isabelle, I am sorry that you have had to deal with this. I will speak to her about how she treats the both of you. She's had plenty of time to get used to me and your mother and should not treat her oldest grandchild like she does. I'm sorry."
Hermione pats his shoulder. "I never wanted to make you choose, but if she keeps this freeze out of Isabelle because of me, then there is going to be two fights today." She looks at George seriously. He nods, knowing who would win a fight between his mother and his wife, and gets up to help Isabelle with the cleanup.
Hermione pulls her hair back and up. Isabelle puts hers in a bun. George shakes his head, he loves his wife's and daughter's curls.
"Come on, let's get this over with." He is suddenly dreading today. He loves his mother, but after hearing the heartbreak behind the snarky tone from his little girl, he knows that he needs to step up for his family.
The three George Weasleys arrive in the middle of the bustle to get the party set up, meaning that Molly is ordering around everyone and already frazzled. George waves to Angie and Fred and Percy and Audrey, before joining in with Hermione and Isabelle.
Bill, Fleur, Victoire, Dominique, and Louis are the next to show up. Fleur, Victoire and Louis swan off to elsewhere, while Lucy, Dominique and Molly Jr. are helping their older cousin, Isabelle. Charlie floos in, joined for the first time by his partner, Ryan. The American dragon tamer was also the Colony's healer. All the older Weasleys, but Molly have met him.
When the party is set up and the food is cooking, George pulls his big brother aside. "Bill, I need to talk to you, NOW!" He makes the curse breaker jump with the volume of his voice.
"Alright, come on. What's the matter, Georgie? How can I help?" George sighs. He hates that he has to do this, but Bill has the right to know about his daughter's antics. "No Billy, It's me trying to help you. I just wish I didn't have to break your heart to do it. I just think that you deserve to know about it." He hands Bill the SD card. "This is from Scorpius Malfoy. He wasn't perving, he was trying to prove his story to Teddy. As you know he just moved over from Durmstrang. It's Victoire. According to him, she is the school's bike. I'm sorry brother, but you needed to know.
The letter from Teddy, breaking up with her should be here soon. He also is going through some tough things. His Were gene was suddenly turned on. We don't know why yet. He said that she wouldn't be with him because she can't stand the scars that come with it. To me, it reeks of your wife."
Bill shakes his head. "Yeah, it all does. Tell Teddy, that his father helped me, I'll be here for him." George nods.
Bill puts the SD into his phone and is grossed out. It is obvious to him that the boy wasn't doing anything but walking by, but it is his little girl. "George, thank you for bringing this to me. You are right, I needed to see this." He takes a deep breath.
"Let's get this sham on the road." The two brothers walk back in. There is a cold war going on in the kitchen. Bill looks over at George. "I see I'm not the only one with family issues."
George nods. "Yeah, not to rub it in, but I am happy with my wife and kid. It's not our marriage, but an in-law issue." Bill laughs. "Sometimes, I wish I had it so easy, little brother."
George claps his hands. "Alright. This is how it is, Mum. I am happily married to Hermione. I have been with her since I was sixteen. You need to stop freezing her out. She is the perfect wife for me.
Your dream of her and Ron would have fizzled out quickly, because all he wants is a younger Molly Weasley.
Hermione is a successful business owner and a great mother to you oldest grandchild. One that is the furthest from a bastard. If I ever see my daughter upset again over her grandmother not loving her because of her parents loving each other, you will never see me again. It's not a choice for me, Mum. Hermione and Isabelle are the most important people to me. Make your choice right now, because we will leave if we need to before Dad gets here."
"Your daughter should have been Alicia's." Molly mutters, taken aback that he would choose them over her.
"Really, well let me tell you something. You should be thankful for Hermione then. If I had gotten together with Alicia, you wouldn't have had any grandchild. She told Hermione and I that it was what broke her and Marc's marriage up. He wanted kids. Before you say it wasn't me, she said that she never wanted kids because it ruins your figure. You want to know why she said that? Fred and I pointed out a shot of you and Dad to her and Angie at school. You are the reason she doesn't want kids. She saw that your figure went to hell with each child and is vain enough to never want that to happen to her.
Back to Isabelle, she said that you called her a prude and stick in the mud, why? Is it because she is like her mother and is holding out for the one meant for her? Because she doesn't like to play Quidditch? My sixteen year old daughter is hard working and has the grades to prove it. Isn't that what you used to yell at Fred and I about, working harder and getting better grades?"
Their little battle is interrupted by Bill's roar. George and Hermione run outside to see why Bill is so angry. He found Fleur. The blonde bitch was with his youngest brother. Hermione casts some clothes onto the harpy and Ron. "Fleur, this is it. No wonder our daughter is a slut, she takes after her mother. I want a divorce. Our marriage contract has a fidelity clause. You just lost any alimony and custody of the children. As their father, yes I am their father, and the fact that they are solely British Wizarding citizens, you have no rights to them."
He turns to his daughter. "And the first new thing is going into effect right now. No daughter of mine is going to act like a slut." He casts a spell that he wanted to have placed on her when she when she started her change into a woman at twelve. He binds her Veela allure and places an abstinence spell on her that lifts on her wedding night. The last spell is a fidelity spell. "Victoire, until you bring up your grades to Louis and Isabelle's level and can prove that I can trust you, you are grounded and will only be able to go to family events.
Louis, you have so far proven that I can trust you, but you need to start pitching in. I saw your cousins in there helping, but your sister and you were out here. That is unacceptable. You are no better than there are." Surprised by his father's temper finally unleashing, Louis nods.
"William, don't you think you are being a rough on your daughter. She is such a sweet girl." Molly pleads as Victoire rushes inside to cry in her dad's old room.
"I was sent proof of that sweet girl doing more depraved sexual things than I ever thought possible of my daughter and out in the open for all to see."
Molly is shocked. She turns to go inside. "No, Mum. You are going to leave her alone and let her feel her error. She is being punished. So she is not to be coddled." This stops Molly dead in her tracks as that is exactly what she was about to do.
A owl drops off a letter to Victoire. Good old Teddy. He is always there for her.
Miss Weasley,
I am sorry that I thought that you could be anything but a vain, self-absorbed person. If you think you are too good to be the daughter of a War hero, Cursebreaker, then you would be too good for me. I am the son of two War heroes and god son of Harry Potter himself, but I will never be rich or enough.
Then my cousin, brings to my attention your extra curricularactivities in Bulgaria. I guess the tables change with that. It seems that a Veela is not enough for me. Let's face it, I am not your mate and never will be. I am going to find a woman that loves only me and will be faithful.
EdwardLupin.
Victoire can't believe it. He broke up with her. He doesn't want her. She starts crying again. Mama was wrong about everything. Daddy is strong and powerful. Teddy isn't going to put up with her looking for her mate. Mama told her that she would never leave her and Louis, but she ran after Daddy told her that he was leaving her.
