With the end of the South American Inferno and the annexation of large swathes of Urguay and Bolivia by the Empire of Brazil the greatly expanded state began to enforce their control over their new lands. This took the form of mass expulsions and the direct transformation of the annexed areas into farms. The new farms were then given to the poorest members of society to convince the poor and unemployed of Brazil to secure their states dominance over the Spanish Lands as they became known. Needless to say, this was not met well by Brazil's neighbours as many did not have the means to deal with waves of refuges. So, Brazil was forced to take back the refugees from Argentina and Paraguay and then escorted them to the border of the Republic of the Andes and let them run wild. As Brazil ensured their ethnic dominance over their new lands several world powers looked on with worry as they expelled their Spanish speaking population with extreme prejudice. With the new Edward VIII writing to Emperor Pedro IV requesting that he intervene to stop the expulsions. Pedro IV would dismiss the government of Vargas and calling the elections of 1953 which resulted in a victory for the Social Democratic Party who ended the expulsions though allowed the farms to stay and never actually payed reparations.
The Argentines took a very different approach to the natives of their war spoils then their northern neighbours focusing on reconciliation and educating them into being good socialists. The Second Five Year Plan was focused around increasing the quality of life of the new northern territories with the new city of Codovilla designed to be the greatest city in South America. As the Argentine government focused on rebuilding and uplifting they also expanded their international actions. With the establishment of a Communist regime in Cuba under Fidel Castro the People's Argentine Republic began to invest heavily in their northern brother. But that was not all they did with the founding of the International Union for the Liberation of the People of the Galaxy in Buenos Aires in late 1953 an organization dedicated to supporting socialist regimes alongside funding peaceful socialist groups across the galaxy. The first major action of the Socialist International as it became known was their support for the Congolese Spring against the Belgian oppressors of the Heart of Africa but that is a topic for across the hall not here. The Argentines also poured funding into Paraguay and Chile in order to establish a strong and prosperous South America.
As South America began to recover from the South American Inferno the world began to see it as a rising star on the fields of World Powers especially with the launching of the Argentine warship APIS (Argentine People's Interstellar Ship) Karl Marx on the 1st of May 1954 just in time for the Battle of Liberty. The Jaffa effect on world culture was minimal for the first few decades of the existence of the Free Jaffa state but that changed in late 1952 with Prime Minister Teal'c beginning his ambitious plan to connect the Jaffa state with humanity. The first way he did was with the funding of the small Jaffa brewing industry with the aim to establish a profitable Jaffa made alcohol to sell to humanity and their allies. The effort was part of the wider effort to increase traditional Jaffa baking and cooking for exports, but the alcohol was by the far the most successful and economically beneficial. The alcohol was very strong and quickly became a favourite of the working class as it allowed them to drown their sorrows in a single bottle. Of course, this did not go without resistance in the United States the Prohibition Party managed to win a few seats in Congress as they campaigned against the dangerous substance. Not that the resistance actually did anything with Jaffa alcohol becoming a massive boon for the Free Jaffa Kingdom. The other economic focuses while successful paled compared to the profits that the Jaffa brewing industry raked in for the Government.

The allied powers had developed what most would call light warships for the first decade of humanities use of Interstellar Warships, but the British decided to change that in 1950 with the commencement of the construction of the HIMIS Vanguard. The ship was two-hundred meters long, with ten levels at around three meters each bringing it up to thirty meters tall, and sixty meters wide at its widest point and ten meters at its prow. With fifteen major guns and the ability to carry two squadrons of Death Gliders totalling to around forty Death Gliders alongside around a hundred lighter guns designed to attack Al'kesh and Death Gliders. The ship was powered by four Tolkien's Matches but carried around a hundred in order to maintain self-sufficiency and aid their allies. The warship was made to command the Imperial Navy in space for as long as possible. The construction would take four years with the Australian workers working at three separate locations due to the size of the ship. Its launch on the 26th of March 1954 was one of the greatest events of the year with Emperor Edward VIII himself launching the ship from the Uluru shipyards. The photos of the ship orbiting Earth with the Black Ensign above the bridge quickly became one of the greatest propaganda stunts of the 50's and they still print those posters today. With the launch of the HIMIS Vanguard the allied tactics were fundamentally changed. The Vanguard was the first interstellar warship classified by historians as a battleship though some call it a light battleship compared to the Dreadnought and the Edward VIII. Still with the launching of humanities first battleship the war had entered a new stage which the Battle of Liberty would show.

The preparations for the Battle of Liberty were first laid in late 1953 as Anubis captured some of Cronus's Jaffa who had the knowledge of Earth's location and tortured that knowledge from them. With the knowledge of where Earth was he realized that he could win the war in a single decisive strike. He began to gather Ha'taks from across his empire and calling back all of his Kull and several hundred thousand Jaffa all gathering for the great offensive. All under the direct control of Anubis as he waited for the perfect time to strike which would come in mid-1954 the end of the Goa'uld War was within sight of mankind.
